ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾ ਹਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥
mayray satiguraa ha-o tuDh vitahu kurbaan
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਤੁਸਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tayray darsan ka-o balihaarnai tus ditaa amrit naam.
Ji, the hymn which my daughters were singing, that Oh, my beloved True Guru, I am a sacrifice unto you. You have made me realize who I am. This is the whole story. If I know who I am, then I am taken out of the cycle of birth and death. If I don’t, then I will be put back in that cycle until I come to my senses, that enough is enough and I want out of this.
Maharaj Ji says, I have told you the story and also that I am ready to take you on this path. Now, it is up to you whether you want to understand the story or not. After a lot of meditation, one starts to hear what is being said and one starts to understand what this life is all about. We kept hearing about taking Amrit, doing Nitnem, but now the story is being understood.
There is a letter from Toronto, Canada. The letter opens with this line: a lifetime of gratitude for this opportunity to know the self. Baba Ji, this truth has settled within me. One night, I was with my sisters, and a question came up, how to let go of regrets. Maharaj Ji said, the answer is in your question - just let go! No one is forcing us to keep holding on to regrets. We do that on our own. We spend a significant amount of life in the graveyards of the time that has passed. This is such a misfortune. We keep going back and regretting this and regretting that. That time is gone; the water is under the bridge. We should learn the lesson and keep moving with more knowledge, more understanding, more lessons, more wisdom. We receive very valuable learning which cannot be obtained from the books; it can only be learned from those mistakes. We become wiser from those mistakes and the rest of life should be spent in more wisdom. Every negative thing has a positive hidden in it - just let go! How to let go? Maharaj Ji says:
ਉਪਮਾ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹੀ ॥
upmaa jaat na kahee mayray parabh kee upmaa jaat na kahee
taj aan saran gahee. ||
He says, just come to me and all your regrets will be gone. It’s so simple! Just get up from the graveyards of yesterday and come to me. I am right there at the gate of the graveyard; nobody can go in the past. Just meet me at the gate.
Then, the writer says:
Baba Ji, I was amazed that it was such an easy thing and it took me forever to understand it. The next day I was blessed with a thought that now the story has started. Maharaj Ji said to me, there is no looking back now, no more postponing; you can stop running around, let go of what was holding you back; just stay with me.
Beautiful! Thank you betay!
We have a very important question in front of us if we can find out how my journey is going to be after this life. Please focus at the heart area. Maharaj Ji tells us:
ਮੁੰਢਹੁ ਭੁਲੀ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਮੁਈਆਸੁ ॥
mundhhu bhulee naankaa fir fir janam mu-ee-aas
He says, if you take the very first step of your life in the wrong direction, you are going to go into the cycle of birth and death, and remain in that cycle. We can see how we have a big responsibility to help our children take the first step in the right direction.
ਕਸਤੂਰੀ ਕੈ ਭੋਲੜੈ ਗੰਦੇ ਡੁੰਮਿ ਪਈਆਸੁ ॥
kastooree kai bholrhai gunday dumm pa-ee-aas
Maharaj Ji says, a special type of deer has a musk in his navel point. He smells a beautiful fragrance and thinks that the smell is coming from outside. He runs in all directions to find out where the smell is coming from and in doing so he falls in a dirty pond and dies there. Maharaj Ji is calling this world a dirty pond. He died there and never came to know that the fragrance was coming from within. He says all the bliss in the world, all the ishq in the world, all the most beautiful things which you can imagine, are within you, just like that deer has musk. Maharaj Ji says that if you start your life like that deer - trying to find everything from outside, finding love outside from others, then you are set on the path of remaining in the cycle of birth and death.
Ji, did anyone experiment with creating a thought themselves before slipping into sleep? Did you experience that same thought upon waking up? It most definitely would happen. Even though we went to sleep, the first thought which came to us when we woke up was the thought we had when we slipped into sleep. How? Because that thought was continuously moving as an undercurrent in our consciousness. The upper layer of the consciousness slept but that thought remained active in the underlayers of our consciousness.
Death is like a very deep sleep, so deep that God makes us forget everything. Otherwise, in our next life, we would go insane if we remembered everything - that this guy owes me money, that person did this to me, and so on. That is why God has made such an arrangement that He makes us forget everything. When death comes, one goes into sleep deeper and deeper, and by the time we leave our body, He makes our consciousness forget everything we had experienced or remembered in this world. Otherwise we would go crazy in the next life. But God remembers. Say, we stole $50,000 Euros from someone and we die. Some day the other person that we stole from is going to die as well. God has many ways in which He arranges for returning that money. In the next life, say in 50 years, with inflation that $50,000 Euro is going to become quarter million; that person may be born in our house and make us serve him or her for 20 years until our account is settled, after which they might get married and move somewhere else. We did not know the story was something else. May God give you all the comfort and happiness but sometimes there is so much sorrow in life because of our children that life becomes hell. Why? Because, in a previous life we had given pain to the one who has now come as a child to settle the account with us. The story is very deep! Everything is forgotten at the time of death. How we take the first step in the journey afterwards, we will talk about that in England.
Today, Maharaj Ji is making us understand in this hymn:
ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੋ ਸਭਨਾ ਉਪਰਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
so aisaa har naam Dhi-aa-ee-ai man mayray jo sabhnaa upar hukam chalaa-ay
Maharaj Ji says that God is the one who is going to order how your life, your next journey, is going to be. So, we should be mindful of that and come to the refuge of the Divine that please save me, be merciful to me
ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਸਭ ਭੁਖ ਗਵਾਏ ॥
so aisaa har naam japee-ai man mayray jo man kee tarisnaa sabh bhukh gavaa-ay
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਦਰਿ ਕਾਗਦ ਫਾਰੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੇਖਾ ਸਮਝਾ ॥
Dharam raa-ay dar kaagad faaray jan naanak laykhaa samjhaa
Through meditation, when we come to the stage that we no longer have any desires; we feel so full, full of love, full of joy, full of compassion, then the Divine orders His accountant to tear up all the accounts of that person. He says this person does not owe anything to anybody, and nobody owes anything to this person, so he is out.
Today, it is in our hands to become free, liberated; tomorrow would be too late. Just too late! We don’t have the time to put it off until tomorrow.
ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੋ ਅੰਤੀ ਅਉਸਰਿ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਏ ॥
so aisaa har naam japee-ai man mayray jo antee a-osar la-ay chhadaa-ay.
ਅੰਤੀ ਅਉਸਰਿ (antee a-osar) - Our last moment in this body is until the last breath.
Our account is going to remain until the last breath. Those who reached earlier, they already won the game. We are going to reach earlier and not leave it to the last breath. Maharaj Ji says I will give you a chance up to the last breath if you can accomplish your objective by then.
Ji, the Celestial Music that we think is nothing big, is a very exceptional, amazing thing! In Japji Sahib, Maharaj Ji says:
gi-aan khand meh gi-aan parchand.
tithai naad binod kod anand.
gi-aan khand - when we start feeling the Divine within and we start hearing the Celestial Music, that is gi-aan khand. Maharaj Ji says instruments are playing, miracles are happening there. When this stage comes that we start hearing the Celestial Music, we start having gi-aan (knowledge) about ourselves, who I truly am. That is how big the Celestial Music is, which starts with the sound of saaN, saaN, and we think it is an ordinary thing. Maharaj Ji says there is a great importance of the Celestial Music if one comes to hear it and keeps hearing it; it has a great bearing on our future journey. We will talk about that in the next village.
The Guru does everything. He gives us rebirth.

ਦੱਸਿਉ ਵੇ… ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇ ਜਾਇਉਂ, ਕੀਹਨੇ ਅੰਦਰੀਂ ਅਲੱਖ ਜਗਾਇਆ
dasi-o vay satgur day jaa-i-oN, keeHnay andareeN alakh jagaa-i-aa
ਕਦੇ ਉਹ ਨੱਚਦਾ ਨੱਚਦਾ ਛੂਹੇ, ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਬਣਾਇਆ
kaday oh nachadaa nachadaa chhoohay, tay kaday roop saNgeet banaa-i-aa
Sometimes God plays with me, within, and then He is also a song; song of ishq, which is being sung continuously throughout the universe, known as the Celestial Music.
ਰਾਗ ਰਤਨ….. ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਜੀਕਣ, ਘਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਗਾਉਣ ਬਿਠਾਇਆ
raag ratan parivaar nay jeekan, ghar saaday gaoun bithaa-i-aa
He is playing the Celestial Music in precious raagaas, beautiful melodies and rhythms, within this house, within me.
ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖੋ…. ਇਹ ਕਿਜੇਹਾ, ਕਾਇਆਨਾਤੀ ਛਹਿਬਰ ਲਾਇਆ
koutak vaykho aih kijayhaa, kaa-i-aanaatee chhahibar
Oh my friends, look at the miracle, this Celestial Music, which in the beginning sounds like a drizzling of rain, a symphony, it is happening throughout the universe.
ਉਹਦੇ ਕੋਲ…. ਅਮਾਨਤ ਮੇਰੀ, ਨੀ ਉਹਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ
oHday kol amaanat mayree, nee oHnay shaaray naal samjhaa-i-aa
Today my Beloved gestured to me that my true self dwells with Him, and He said, come sometime and receive your true self that is with me.
Dhaarnaa (new lines):
ਸਿਜਦਾ ਕਰਾਂ….. ਉਸ ਕੁੱਖ ਸੁਲਖਣੀ, ਨੀ ਜਿਸ ਅੰਮੜੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਜਾਇਆ
sijadaa karaaN us kukh sulakhanee, nee jis amarhee daa aih jaa-i-aa
I bow down to that blessed womb who gave birth to Him.
After gi-aan khand is saram khand. Maharaj Ji says:
saram khand kee banee roop.
tithai ghaarhat gharhee-ai bahut anoop.
When we are hearing the Celestial Music, we are lodged in the womb of the True Guru. There, He sculpts us into something new.
taa kee-aa galaa kathee-aa naa jaahi.
jay ko kahai pichhai pachhutaa-ay.
ਤਿਥੈ ਘੜੀਐ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਮਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਬੁਧਿ ॥
tithai gharhee-ai surat mat man buDh.
tithai gharhee-ai suraa siDhaa kee suDh.
surat - new consciousness.
mat - a new understanding that sees everything differently; how to use the consciousness, how to see with it, how to hear with it.
man - completely different thoughts
buDh - consciousness that can recognize the Divine, loves the Divine.
He says when we are hearing the Celestial Music, we are in the womb of the True Guru. He creates us completely differently; new birth, new understanding, new way of thinking, new way of looking, new way of feeling.

ਭਈ ਘੜੀਵਾਂ ਇਹਦੀ ਨੂਰੀ ਕੁੱਖੇ, ਨੀ ਅੱਜ ਸੁਪਣਾ ਸਾਨੁੰ ਆਇਆ
bha-ee gharheevaaN aihdee nooree kukhay, nee aj supnaa sanoo aa-i-aa
The womb of the True Guru is the womb of Divine light. The Divine light is present wherever there is Celestial music if we feel closely. The True Guru gives us a new birth by keeping us in the womb of Divine light. God gave us the first birth by using our parents; that womb was very noble as well; it gave birth to the one who became capable of coming into the womb of the divine light.
ਭਈ ਘੜੀਵਾਂ ਇਹਦੀ ਨੂਰੀ ਕੁੱਖੇ, ਨੀ ਅੱਜ ਸੁਪਣਾ ਸਾਨੁੰ ਆਇਆ
bha-ee gharheevaaN aihdee nooree kukhay, nee aj supnaa sanoo aa-i-aa
Oh, my mother, I had a dream that I was in the womb of the True Guru, the womb of Divine light, and Celestial Music, and He was creating a new me.
ਦੱਸਿਉ ਵੇ… ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇ ਜਾਇਉਂ, ਕੀਹਨੇ ਅੰਦਰੀਂ ਅਲੱਖ ਜਗਾਇਆ

Maharaj Ji says:
charh naav sant uDhaar.
bhai taray saagar paar
He says that from now on it is so important that we have fear that, while I am so blessed to walk this path of liberation, I also stand a good chance to lose everything. He says, we must have this fear. Without this fear, the mind will not let us reach the destination.
Now, for all of those who are not here, they are always in our consciousness, let’s send a message to them through the winds.
Dhaarnaa:
ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲੰਘਦੀਏ ਨੀ ਵਾਏ, ਸਾਡੇ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਲਾਮ ਆਖਣਾ
koloN langhadee-ay nee vaa-ay, saaday sajanaa noo saadaa salaam aakhanaa
Oh, the wind, passing by me and going towards my dear friends, please convey my regards and love to them.
Maharaj Ji says:
ko-ee jaanai kavan eehaa jag meet
Maharaj Ji says only the true Guru is your true friend, nobody else can be your true friend who can really benefit you.
yaar - true friend.
ਸੁਣਿ ਯਾਰ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਸਜਣ ਇਕ ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ॥
sun yaar hamaaray sajan ik kara-o banantee-aa.
ਤਿਸੁ ਮੋਹਨ ਲਾਲ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹਉ ਫਿਰਉ ਖੋਜੰਤੀਆ ॥
tis mohan laal pi-aaray ha-o fira-o khojantee-aa.
saran - refuge, a place of rest.
ਉਪਮਾ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਕਹੀ ॥
upmaa jaat na kahee mayray parabh kee upmaa jaat na kahee
taj aan saran gahee. ||

ਬਿਨਾ ਯਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਦਰਦੀ, ਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਧਾਮ ਆਖਣਾ
binaa yaar day nahee ko-ee dardee, tay naa hee ko-ee Dhaam aakhanaa
Oh, the winds, going towards my beloved friends, tell them that other than the True Guru there is nobody else who is our true friend, and nobody else who can be our solace, our place of rest.
ਨਿੱਤ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਖੈਰਾਂ, ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁਬਹ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਆਖਣਾ
nit maNgaday haaN tayree-aaN khairaaN, vaylay subah shaam aakhanaa
And tell them that I wish them all the Divinely virtues, both in times in the morning as well as in the evening.
