This is called MoolMantar. We would understand every part of it every day during the next four days. God has blessed me with only four days to serve you; to be blessed with the dust of your feet, and to sit in your presence. Each day is very precious. Let us please close our eyes and focus in between the eyebrows. Please stay there, sit relaxed, and beg the Divine to come there and let Him be felt by you.

We all have heard that God dwells with us, within us, but we must experience His presence in us. When we hear that God dwells with us or within us, we wonder: where does He dwell within?  Please, if you could lend me your entire consciousness; just hear me without thinking. The very consciousness of ours which we call mind, which keeps thinking; we would be surprised to know that God dwells right in the consciousness that keeps thinking. God dwells there, it’s amazing! We could never even imagine that God lives there in the consciousness which keeps thinking, and planning, and worrying and so on.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji appeared on the face of this Earth from 1469 to 1708, for 239 years; not in one body but He appeared one after another, 10 times, and told the world the easiest way to meet God. He says:

man tooN jot saroop hai aapnaa mool pachhaan.

He says, oh my mind, God dwells right within you; you are the embodiment of the Divine light. When we look, we do not look, God shows us something. God has shown the scientists that the eye is like a camera. So, when we are looking outside, the camera in the eye is making a movie of what is being shown to us. That movie is made by the Divine and is shown to us. He leaves it up to us how to interpret what we see. The same way, we do not hear, God makes us hear. When we talk, the sound is lent to us by the Divine. We cannot create the sound which rises from within. There are some mute people in the world who cannot talk. If it were up to us then those people would have been able to talk. If it was up to us to hear, then there would be no deaf person in the whole world. If it was up to us to see, there would be no blind person in the whole world. It is Him, Him, Him! We will see it in the next three days. Please remain focused there.

man tooN jot saroop hai aapnaa mool pachhaan.

Oh my mind, you are the embodiment of the Divine light; know your source, know your origin.

man har jee tayrai naal hai gurmatee rang maan.

Oh my mind, you keep on worrying, thinking, anxious, stressed, but you don’t know God is with you.

gurmatee rang maan.

Listen to your True Guru.

All the utterances of Guru Nanak Dev Ji during His ten appearances and also numerous other saints, irrespective of any religion, or any country; whoever loved God and became one with God, Guru Nanak Dev Ji compiled their utterances into a granth (sacred book) called Guru Granth Sahib Ji. God sang through them. All of Guru Granth Sahib Ji are poetry; songs of love - some from the Divine to our mind, some from our mind to Him, and some songs of the soul to our mind, some songs of feeling the pain of separation from the Divine, some songs begging Him to come and meet me, some songs full of pain that I’m waiting for you my dear Beloved, I have lost my appetite for thirst or food or sleep. I just need You! Those songs are so beautiful! What we are singing is another song from Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

man har jee tayrai naal hai gurmatee rang maan.

Oh my mind, God is with you, listen to the Guru. Guru will make you meet Him and you will then enjoy God’s ishq. Ishq is the word which is not used for the bodies but for the metaphysical, for the souls, for God. He says your Guru will make you meet God and then you would know God and enjoy Him.

Please, while staying firmly between the eyebrows, let’s sing together.

man har jee tayrai naal hai gurmatee rang maan.

Ji, this consciousness which tells us where we are sitting, what is happening here, which shows us who is here - this consciousness is God. But we are using it for the wrong purpose. This consciousness is God Himself. He is not hiding anywhere. We are using it for the wrong purposes; for greed, for ego, attachment, lust, anger, jealousy. He has put Himself into our hands and given us the freedom to use Him as we like. He says you are free to use me as you wish but you are going to be responsible for your deeds. If we use God for the wrong purposes, God changes its energy. God’s nature is to share and if we use Him for greed, for a wrong purpose, then we become restless. We can experience it. When we become greedy, we become restless, because we are using God for the wrong purpose. If we lie, we start feeling like a thief because we have used God’s voice for a wrong purpose, and so on. We can see that we cannot hide from Him. We can also recognize how precarious life is. It’s up to us - we can make our lives heaven or hell.

God’s nature is to remain unattached and love everybody unconditionally. When we become attached to someone, again we use God for the wrong purpose and we suffer. We can experience that the people, places, things that we are attached to, are the cause of all our worries and pains. We use Him for wrong purposes. He does not become attached to anyone. He loves His whole creation. When we become attached, we use Him wrongly and hence we suffer. The Guru tells us how to live human life.

Let us please do meditation for a few minutes. Please sit straight. Our spine, neck, and head should be all aligned. Whatever name you call God by, is beautiful! Any name of God has to be beautiful because He Himself is so beautiful. So, any name which you love is fine. But Guru Nanak Dev Ji gave the name of God, Waheguru, to the whole world. Wahe means wonderful; Waheguru means Wonderful Lord. He did not recognize any religion. He said there is no Muslin, no Christian, no Buddhist, no Jew; you all are children of the same Lord. You are not Crristians or Muslims or Jews; you are His children, you are humans. He talked to the whole world as humans. He rose above all religions. He gave this word Waheguru. This word vibrates our entire insides, awakens our entire insides.

Please, with closed eyes let us feel the part of the body, the membrane that touches  the ground when we sit cross-legged. At that point we are going to say Wahe, at the heart area Guru. With full alertness, say Wahe down there and Guru at the heart area. Wonderful Lord. It requires full alertness, all the energy, all the attention, and all the awakened-ness. When we are going to say Wahe, we are going to press that area against the ground because that’s where the mind’s energy, lust and all that resides. We have to make them rise up. When we say Guru at the heart area, then we feel as if our consciousness flies upwards. Pressing downward at the lower point and pressing upward at the heart area.

Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Guru Wahe Guru ………..

Please remain still and see if you feel any warmth or any amount of vibration or some presence. Look at the lowest point and see if you can detect something wanting to rise upward. Now see if you can detect any movement at the heart area; very subtle energy, either moving in an anti-clockwise direction or moving back and forth, while keeping the word Waheguru in the consciousness.

Those of us who do feel some presence, could you please say Waheguru a little loud. Thank you! I am so grateful to the Divine for letting us feel that He is present within. We will feel Him more strongly, more vigorously.

All these are love letters to us. He says, listen to the Guru. Guru Granth Sahib Ji tells us different meditations through which we immediately, right away, feel God. Not after doing meditation for 10 years or 5 years or even 6 months; right away, right now, because God is not an idea or a thought or a philosophy, He is the Truth.

Let’s come in between the eyebrows please and keep the word Waheguru in our consciousness without saying it or uttering it.  All we are doing when we say Waheguru or when we remember Him, is that we are calling Him. We call Him and He just comes running. He loves us so much. We just call Him - oh my Beloved please come, and He is there. You can feel Him; you would have first hand experience, direct experience of God. Feel Him in between the eyebrows please.

jah jah man tooN Dhaavdaa tah tah har tayrai naalay.

Oh my mind, wherever you go there is God with you. While sitting here, in our thoughts we can go to our home, open the door of our house, enter within, and go to different rooms, or we can go to our workplace, or we can go to any place we love or cherish. Guru Nanak Dev Ji says, oh my mind, wherever you go, the Divine is with you.

man si-aanap chhodee-ai gur kaa sabad samaalay.

Oh my mind, quit thinking, quit worrying, quit feeling sadness, quit feeling hurts. Do not waste your energy, your power, in doing so. You are just wasting your power. Protect your power and use it to meet the Divine; use your attention, your focus, your energy. Quit all your clevernesses because clevernesses will only make you feel more stressed and make you lose your innocence; it will only move you farther away from God. It is the innocence and genuineness which brings you close to God.

Keep His name in your consciousness, keep remembering Him and you would stay close to Him. Remember Him and then with your full consciousness feel Him. You would feel Him because you remembered Him and He came. Look at His love for us, please; His love for His creation. We cannot even imagine that we call Him and He comes running as if He is our slave, our servant. He is the Divine Lord, the Creator of the universe. He is not some small being or a small power.

We should love Him the way He loves us. We should remember that He created this body and blessed this to us. He blessed His presence in the body so the body can work. He created our body, He is running our body. When we walk we are not even conscious that we are walking, we are thinking about something else. It’s God walking! When we talk, we have no idea how the tongue moves so swiftly and twists and turns and goes up and down; it is Him who is using the tongue to talk. Right in front of us, He is, and He is at work. We are under the illusion that He is somewhere away and whatever we are doing He doesn’t know and we can hide it from Him, while we are using Him to do whatever we do. If we can remember this small thing that we are using His body which He created, and we are using Him, the consciousness, to do whatever we do, our life would change instantly. We would be so frightened that there is nobody more stupid on this Earth, let alone being proud of something or having ego.

Please come in between the eyebrows. While staying there, let’s call Him, Guru, Guru, Guru, and we should feel Him more intensely. You are very nice children of His. Let’s become more grateful toward Him, more humble towards Him. When we say Guru in between the eyebrows, we should feel a power oscillating at that point or moving in a circular direction.

Guru  Guru Guru Guru Guru Guru Guru………

While staying up there, with closed eyes please feel a light around your face, around your head. By becoming totally silent and peaceful within, feel it. It’s milky white, snowy white; could also be bluish or purplish depending on our state of consciousness. It’s not separate from us. Do not try to look at as we look at something away from us. It is emanating right from within. It’s the divine light spreading outside. Please practice it many times when you go home. When you do meditation, you can turn off the lights and go deep into meditation. You would feel the Divine, as well as the Divine light.

Each and everyone of you, thank you so much for coming. I really appreciate it. The dust of your feet enriches me. There are only three more days. Please don’t miss any. Eat together before you leave because when we eat together our mutual love grows. We all are carrying the same divine light. Everything is divine light.

We are going to sing this dhaarnaa, that there is a high hill, so beautifully unique high hill - it means our head. Oh my Beloved, there is a high hill and the Divine light is lit in there, meaning our head.

Dhaarnaa:

uchee pahaarhee…ik anokhee…..ajlee jot daa thal vay maahee-aa
