2445 - Khajana Darshan June 28, 2022 – New York (English Translation)
ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
॥ ਜਪੁ॥
ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
ਮੋਹਨ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਦਰਸ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
mohan tudh satsangat dhiyaavai daras dhiyaanaa
O’ my Beloved, the enticer, the mesmerizer, the stealer of hearts, you reveal yourself to the ones who meditate in the holy congregation. Let us please become fully focused. As we are calling Him, He comes running. We would feel Him if we are totally there.
In the meditation, while they are focused in the street of the present, you appear there. Those who are completely focused, who do not even know where they live, what’s their name. If we remember that we are not completely focused.
daras dhiyaanaa, daras dhiyaana, daras dhiyaana
There is a particular state of consciousness which gets attracted to Him and whom He wants to dwell with. We will talk about that tomorrow.
ਮੋਹਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਪਹਿ ਨਿਦਾਨਾ ॥
mohan jam ned naa aavai tudh japai nidhaanaa
O’ my Beloved, the stealer of the hearts, whosoever feels you, or even remembers you earnestly, honestly, without any deceit, that person becomes beyond the reach of death, which means that person realizes his or her true self.
In the holy congregation, one understands about rebirth and this is where rebirth is going to take place.
Please remain fully rooted in the street of the present and then hear. Generally, people can be divided into three types of consciousness. I am talking about intelligent consciousness. One is just the intelligence, like the researchers, scientists have intelligence – the quest to know something. They want to understand something with their own efforts. Then there is innocent intelligence; this is when you are intelligent but you are very innocent too. Scientists are not like that because scientists want to know some secrets, and innocent consciousness is not like that; innocent consciousness receives whatever is given to it. It is childlike, you are who you are, you do not act, there is no deceit. And then there is clever intelligence. The world makes us cleverly intelligent, and they give it the name smart. That may be smart in the shopping mall but not here. The state of consciousness that God loves is the innocent intelligence. One must be intelligent enough to feel because in the world we only think and intellectually understand and here we have to go beyond that. Maharaj Ji is talking about innocent intelligence. When that innocent intelligence meditates, God presents Himself there before we even become focused.
This human life is very precious. Please be very careful. We had been robbed of satsangat for almost three years.
ਵੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਝ ਜਿਊਣਾ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਿਆ
vay mainu tere baaj jyooNaa gunaah lagyaa
To live without you was like living a sinner’s life, who cannot come close to God.
ਤੇਰੀ ਭਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਇੰਝ ਸੀ ਲੰਘਾਇਆ
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੂਲ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਿ ਕੱਲੀ ਤੁਰੀ ਜਾਵੇ
teri bhaal vich asaaN din inj see langhaaye
jiveN kool pahadee koi kalli turee jaavay
Waiting for you felt like a small creek flowing through the mountains; that creek is looking for someone, and at every hurdle, whenever it strikes a stone, it moves in another direction.
ਦੱਸ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਪਾਈ ਮੋੜਾਂ ਸਭ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ
das kitey vee naa pa-ee modaaN sab puchyaa
I asked all the turns, but they didn’t answer, they just kept quiet.
ਵੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਝ ਜਿਊਣਾ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਿਆ
vay mainu tere baaj jyoonaa gunaah lagyaa
Please hear while remaining focused. When we hear, it will produce vibrations within us, if we are feeling those then we are hearing. Maharaj Ji says:
ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਹੈ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇ ॥
kudrat hai keemat nahi paaye
We are part of His creation, and He says that His creation cannot be knows, it is so mysterious. Whatever science knows, that’s what God made the man know about something. The intelligence is given by God so the gift which he gave to man, with that gift man got to know something. Of course, the credit goes to man for his hard work. We are very mysterious. Maharaj Ji says his nature is very mysterious and you are a part of His nature, nobody can know you and neither you can know who you are. You can only know so much as God pleases. Maharaj Ji says the splendor, the glory, the mystery of his nature cannot be known. Who are we ? We don’t know anything. This thing that deems itself to be smart and intelligent has gone too far from our true self. Our true self is very intelligent, it is not the same as this intelligence; it is higher intelligence which has direct connection with God. That intelligence is plugged into God and that is very innocent.
jaa keemat paaye taaN kahee naa jaaye
Maharaj Ji says even if you come to know who you are, you will not be able to describe it, so the mystery will remain a mystery. To know your real self, to go through rebirth, one thing that is most important is faith.
ਸਿਦਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਖਸੂਦੁ ॥
sidak kar sijdaa man kar maksood
maksood means maksad, or goal. Maharaj Ji says if it is your goal to transform your consciousness through rebirth and realize your true self, what you need most of all is faith. Clever intelligence can never have faith. Only the innocent intelligence can leap into something that is unknown. May God keep all of us innocent. He says your rebirth will happen if you have faith; then it is not that rebirth will take place, when it will happen, but in fact I am going through the rebirth, it is already happening.
Maharaj Ji says have faith in me, that is your prayer to me. If you have faith, your prayer is accepted. Please, we must remain careful of our minds. The mind would say, I have faith. If this arises within us that I have faith, that is the proof that you don’t have faith. When we have faith, we would not know that we have faith or not. There will be fear (bhai).
bhai bin bhagat naa hoye
It is a very slippery path, very subtle.
ਸਿਦਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਖਸੂਦੁ ॥
ਜਿਹ ਧਿਰਿ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਿਹ ਧਿਰਿ ਮਉਜੂਦੁ ॥੧॥
sidak kar sijdaa man kar maksood
jeh dhir dekhaN teh dhir maujood
Through rebirth, when you realize your true self, wherever you look you would see the presence of God. This is our goal - to realize our true self through rebirth. The most important thing which is necessary for any type of success is to become and remain motivated. If we are not motivated, we cannot reach anywhere. Motivation means that even when we have so many worldly responsibilities, deadlines, even in that state remain motivated. Sometimes the mind will say, take it easy. Even when we are tired to our bones, to not take it easy. Even when there is a temptation to give up, remain profoundly motivated, every moment, every breath, every step, every day, remain profoundly motivated to keep moving towards our goal. In order to remain motivated, we must remain deeply unsatisfied with the status quo, remain unsatisfied with our current state of consciousness. Then and only then we can keep walking. The moment we become lazy and forget that I am not satisfied with this present state of consciousness, the pilgrimage has been halted. It must come from deep within!
ਹਾਏ ਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਨਹੀ ਲਗਦਾ, ਐਸ ਮੈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲੇ
ਰਾਸ ਨਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਰਾਹ ਨੀ, ਪੈਰ ਭਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਢੇ
haye nee mera jee nahi lagdaa, ais maiN de naaley
raas naa sanoo eh raah nee, pair bharey naal kandey
This path, the same old beaten path of worldly life, I don’t feel comfortable with. It’s the same old story – go to school, find a job, get married, bring up children, send them to school, marry them off, same old story. This path cannot make me content, and the souls of my feet are full of thorns while walking this path.
ਕਿਤੇ ਨਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਇਥੇ ਕੋਈ, ਨੀ ਸਭ ਲੱਖ ਲੱਖ ਮਾਰਨ ਪੈਂਡੇ
kitey naa pahunchyaa ethey koi, nee sab lakh lakh maaran paindey
People keep running but at the end of the day they don’t arrive anywhere. They are empty handed with nothing to take with them, they have never collected anything. They have never arrived anywhere.
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਤਕ ਨੇ ਉਦਾਲੇ
ehnaaN raahaN ne pata nahi kinney aj tak ne udaaley
This worldly life’s path has made countless people run away with them. They promised something very beautiful, and people ran away with those worldly paths. At the end of this worldly path, there is a sign which says - Dead End!
ਹਾਏ ਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਨਹੀ ਲਗਦਾ, ਐਸ ਮੈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲੇ
haye nee mera jee nahi lagdaa, ais maiN de naaley
Please feel the insides. That is becoming our real abode.
Ji, when Maharaj Ji says kudrat hai keemat nahi paaye
We are part of a splendid, glorious divinely creation. We are not just another person; we are somebody very special. God has never created the same person again. Over the millions of years, He created countless people and demolished but none of them were repeated; every time a brand-new person who never existed before and never will be. We are part of a very mysterious majestic nature. Even the blades of grass upon whom we walk, and we don’t even think, God created those blades of grass with such joy and love. Our true self is very delicate and tender. It does not tolerate insincerity. As we have been seeing, the words, pictures, and music affect the state of our consciousness. We are very tender, delicate, so we should be very careful when we utter words or show any pictures to somebody; showing pictures here does not mean as if showing a picture on a piece of paper, rather how Maharaj Ji was showing us a picture of the nature. Whenever we talk and put a picture before somebody, we should be careful what type of picture we are putting before them, what kind of words we are sending them because these words and pictures are going to affect their consciousness and they are very tender souls. So we should always be very alert, careful, awake, that I am talking to some soul. When we realize our true self then you would have no control over yourself, none whatsoever; you would have to utter whatever comes within. Please, let us become more sensitive, more loving, more tender, and sincerity is most important. God values our inner honesty. This is a very slippery path; it takes time to understand these things. We have never talked about these things before because it was important for the consciousness to rise to a certain point before this could be talked about.
ਤੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਜ ਚੱਲੀਆਂ ਵੇ
te gallaN nij diyaaN aj challiyaN vey
Today we were talking about the true self.
ਗੀਤ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਉੱਚਿਆਂ ਅੰਬਰਾਂ ਦਾ
ਤੇ ਵਾਸੀ ਨਿਮਰ ਮਹਲ ਕਹੰਨੀਆਂ ਵੇ
geet baniyaaN oh ucchyaaN ambraaN daa
te vaasee nimar mahal kahanniyaaN vey
They became the songs belonging to the higher skies, and not to this world. They became citizens of the pure, tender, delicate mansion within.
Let us please remember that Maharaj Ji tells us that you are something very special, whom I have created with my own hands. You are here to realize the true self through rebirth. For that we remain ceaselessly, constantly, continuously motivated.
