Ever since we have been blessed with the knowledge by the Divine that there are two worlds. One is that world where we all have our own worlds. And then there is another world, that is also our own world, but that’s invisible. I was wondering if you could see what has captivated you of the invisible world?
Please raise your hand and express.
His love has captivated me.
His mercy and His grace.
Intoxication.
Inner peace.
It doesn’t have to be what we have realized, it could be just a thought. In the beginning, it starts with a thought.
Understanding that in reality, I am something very precious; tree of gold.
I’m talking about now; today, which thought is captivating you?
Truth; To know the truth.
To know the infinite Divine, whom they are calling Beloved Husband Lord. To know the truth. In other words, that is your very name. Sachiaar means the one who has realized his true self, and that is truth.
Humility and the understanding that I’m here to grow.
Fulfillment.
Experiencing it or the thought?
Experiencing it.
That I feel so fulfilled with truth, that leaves me with no desire.
Again, I want to repeat that the question is not what you are experiencing, or what you have experienced. The question is, what is that thought even, which has made you stand still, which has stopped you from running around? And I don’t mean physically, I mean the wandering of the consciousness.
This thought has gotten a hold of me, that I’m not alone.
Gurparsad, His grace.
The realization that the false self is just an idea. This me, this I is just an idea, a thought, a perpetuated thought which has been perpetuated in our consciousness throughout the ages.
To become free of the thinking process.
Mr. Sandhu says that when I recognize that these are not just stories; these are not some abstract things. Whatever he talks about is real, exists, but cannot be seen. But they are and that is true.
The curiosity to have an ishq with God. That has captivated me.
Palwinder Singh Ji says that I just had the shortest glimpse of His beauty, His glory, and that has changed my whole life. Beautiful!
When I came to realize that I’m utterly ignorant.
The realization that I have a given time, and I’m running out of time.
The anticipation of realizing the true self.
Who am I? Who is this, who says ‘I’?
To become free of worries and stress.
The realization that every moment He is putting before me is an extremely precious moment which shall never return back.
To come to know that the world I had created is nothing but stress and anxiety, and the desire to get out and realize that I am pure love.
To come to know where in this body I am asleep, and that is the root point.
To come to understand that everything is God, it’s just God!
To come to know that God is always with me, and He understands my pains.
Betay, please think about it again. What is the meaning of pain? That my world is not the way I wanted it to be - that is the pain. And you are saying that God knows what kind of world I want. This is all worldly.
To realize that my world, whom I had been taking as my only support, actually was not a support. My only support is my creator.
To come to understand that God meets people. This is very big!
There was a young man in England who had been doing kathaa (discourse, sermon) for many years. He came to the Darbar Sahib at Walsall and he heard for the first time that we can meet God and in fact we are here just to do that. He said it took him two years to finally believe a little bit that maybe one can meet God; look at all these people who come everyday. This is huge; please don’t think this is a small thing. We think God is too far and that is why we fall back into our world again and again. Only those, who at least know where I am and why I am here, can answer this question. Often, we do not think about these things. We just come and go, listen a little bit but we do think what is it that has captivated me?
I was saying that it is a huge grace of His to believe that God meets people. I can meet Him. That is a huge grace of His. We do not have the capacity to even imagine that. This I of ours does not have the capacity to even imagine that.
Anybody else?
When I came to know that He makes us worry free, fearless and fulfilled.
To have the knowledge that the time I am given on this planet is so precious and must be used very wisely.
When I realized the intensity of His ishq for me, that stopped me.
Bhai Sahib Singh Ji says that some presence which keeps pulling me within, and keeps taking me upward, and keeps me drunk with bliss.
To understand that I’m so blessed that I’m using the given time for the purpose for which I am here.
Which thought keeps coming again and again?
My dear son from Bolivia, Camilo, says: the curiosity about how to become or realize my true self and serve humanity.
Dear son, we should not worry about serving humanity. That comes out of this I; that comes out of this worldly I. When we realize the true self, then you don’t have a thought that you want to serve others. You just do it. There is no thought, there is no contemplation, there is no planning. Then, you are under His will; it’s up to Him what He wants us to do.
Thank you so much. We should all sit by ourselves and contemplate on what is captivating me? These are small things like Kindergarten; why do I go to school every day? But understanding even the Kindergarten concepts is very difficult. The mind does not let us understand. It does not let us sit with ourselves; it wants to be with the dreams. Watching those colorful dreams one forgets all the worries and remains, and even though there is nothing there, one remains somewhat intoxicated. In five years, I am going to have 2 million dollars……. (laughter).
It’s very difficult to get out of the hands of the mind, the thinking machine which we have become. To get out of the dreams, self created dreams, even though there is nothing there.
kurbaan keetaa tisai vitahu jin moh meethaa laa-i-aa.
Maharaj Ji says it’s utterly amazing how He has created this play while He is just One.
bahtee jaat kaday darisat na Dhaarat.
Maharaj Ji says that your time is becoming shorter and shorter. How come you don’t see that?
bhaagtharhay har sant tumHaaray jinH ghar Dhan har naamaa.
Maharaj Ji says, blessed are your saints whose houses are full of the true wealth, who are full of God within; God is occupying every corner of their mansion. They are Your saints; they are so blessed!
There are two worlds, one is the world outside that we have created ourselves and the other one is the world inside that is created by Him. Our true self, our soul dwells within. God has blessed us with our true self, and the true self is within. The true self is not our creation; we have not formed or created it; that has been done by Him. Everything outside has been done by another being, which is not the one that is within. Our world is our creation. ‘I’ is our creation. This I, and my world is our creation but our true self is God’s creation. Maharaj Ji says that when God becomes merciful to you, He blesses you with your true self.
Please understand this.
The outside world, me and my world, is our own creation, which is not true; it’s just an idea, just a thought. But our true self is within, and when God becomes graceful to us, He blesses us with our true self. What does that mean? Our true self has already been blessed to us but we have lost that, we are not conscious of that, we are not aware of that, we are not living that. We have lost our soul, our true self. When He becomes very merciful, then He again blesses us with our true self. He says, come with me, keep feeling me, and you are going to discover the most amazing treasure; the treasure of your true self, which is beauty of the beauties, which is immortal, which is Divine, which is so sacred, so pure, ultimate beauty, so fulfilled; you are that! Once we become captivated with this thought, then nothing else is needed. Then nothing else is needed!
Even though we keep coming to the sangat, we do not let ourselves be grasped by this thing.
I was saying that there is a song which says that your beauty has bewitched me. When we firmly start walking this path then you would see that every worldly song which is about worldly love; you would see that that is between you and Him and there is nothing worldly in it. But those songs are worldly; we cannot say those are not worldly because they came from a worldly person. But the same line when it comes from you, will be a holy song. A worldly song when sung by a worldly person, has worldly meaning. But a worldly song when sung by you, will be true; it will be the most beautiful song of truth.
I was saying that let us build a poem on this simple line that your thought has bewitched me. Let’s start with one line - that your thought has bewitched me; whatever your thought is! I’m going to leave you with this line:
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਲੈ ਬੈਠਾ
mainoo tayraa kh-i-aal lai baithaa
We must mean it, that this thought has taken hold of me, and we should be very clear about the thought.
And we should sing with sahaj.
mainoo tayraa kh-i-aal lai baithaa
