2549 - Khajana Darshan March 31, 2023 – Paris, France (English Translation)

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

॥ ਜਪੁ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥  ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥

Please come at the forehead, in between the eyebrows.

ਬਾਵਨ ਅਛਰ ਲੋਕ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਇਨ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ

baavan achhar lok tarai sabh kachh in hee maahi

ਅਖਰ ਖਿਰਿ ਜਾਹਿਗੇ ਓਇ ਅਖਰ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥

ay akhar khir jaahigay o-ay akhar in meh naahi

Words are formed of letters. Maharaj Ji says no language of the world has letters which can say something about God.

Let the sound of Gurbani strike you there at the heart area, or at the forehead please, by becoming totally centered at that point.

ਜਹਾ ਬੋਲ ਤਹ ਅਛਰ ਆਵਾ

jahaa bol tah achhar aavaa

Maharaj Ji says that letters and words are useful for something which can be described.

ਜਹ ਅਬੋਲ ਤਹ ਮਨੁ ਰਹਾਵਾ

jah abol tah man na rahaavaa

Wherever we focus, that's where the Divine appears. When we are fully connected with the Divine; If we rest our consciousness in His presence, then Maharaj Ji says, the speaker is no more. Our mind is about 10 percent of our total consciousness and God lets us use that to dwell in the outside world. This consciousness that is separated from the Divine, and dwells outside, is the one that talks. We can talk about trees because trees are separate from us; we can talk about birds because birds are separate from us. But we cannot talk about consciousness because we ourselves are consciousness. How can consciousness talk about consciousness? It’s very deep! Maharaj ji says you can talk about something which is separate from you. You can talk about the outside world, which you feel at this stage is separate from you. But you cannot talk about that which is not separate from you. He says you are consciousness, and consciousness can talk about everything else outside but it cannot talk about itself - it’s very deep; so deep that only few people can comprehend it. Please meditate on this. What does this mean that we can talk about something which is separate from us but consciousness cannot talk about itself?

Because consciousness cannot talk about itself, that's why it remains a mystery. Please meditate on this and try to grasp it. It is very, very deep!

There is a letter from Australia. There are two questions. One question is:

Baba Ji, when one merges with God and thus becomes perfect, complete, is there any excitement still left?

Such a beautiful question! Betay, you are so wise, so blessed soul.

Let’s all sing together. Maharaj Ji says:

ਤੁਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹਮ ਭੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਅਘਾਏ

tum pooran poor rahay sampooran ham bhee sang aghaa-ay

You are perfect oh, my Beloved, and you are perfectly all pervading. The whole universe is filled with You, and by dwelling with You constantly, I too have become fulfilled, perfect!

The question is - now, is there any excitement left?

Complete, perfect - what we understand by perfection is that we have become complete. We have become perfect. We have reached the destination and now it is a dead-end, nowhere to go, and the question is, is there any excitement left? But this is the worldly meaning of perfection. Because we don’t have the words to talk about the inner world, we have to use words which cannot describe them; this is our helplessness. Because of this helplessness, more often than not, when Maharaj Ji is saying something, we understand something else. Because He can only use the words of the world. Maharaj Ji says:

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਸਰਿ ਅਤੁਲ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਭਰਿ ਪਰੈ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਪਰੈ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਪਰਿ

amrit parvaah sar atul bhandaar bhar parai hee tay parai apar apaar par

He says, this is not what I mean by being perfect; your understanding is that we become like a pond, with nowhere to go, complete but like a pond, we can only stagnate, become stale, that’s all. He says, no, this is not what I mean. Maharaj Ji says you don’t become a pond, you become infinite rivers. God is operating as infinite rivers; He is perfect, complete, and operating as infinite rivers. He says this is an endless evolution; there is no dead-end on the way. The way is inexhaustible, ਅਤੁਲ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਭਰਿ (atul bhandaar bhar). This path of ishq is inexhaustible.  

He says the infinite, eternal is always available. There is no dead-end, there is no full-stop, it is an endless movement of consciousness. Now please let us look outside - the Big Bang. Only About 40 years ago, Dr. Stephen Hawking came up with this; God showed him that when God created the world, a Big Bang happened. Five hundred and fifty years ago, Guru Nanak Dev Ji said:

ਕੀਤਾ ਪਸਾਉ ਏਕੋ ਕਵਾਉ

keetaa pasaa-o ayko kavaa-o

ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਲਖ ਦਰੀਆਉ

tis tay ho-ay lakh daree-aa-o

He says God spoke once with a big loud sound, and millions of streams of creation came into being. That was five hundred and fifty years ago; God only showed the scientists this truth only 40 years ago. So, what are those streams of creation?

He started a stream of grass, and then there are so many types of grass. He started a stream of birds - so many kinds of birds with different colors, different textures. A stream of elephants, a stream of dinosaurs, a stream of men, stream of women - infinite rivers, infinite streams of creation. There is no dead end; those streams keep operating continuously. We call Him the Creator; He is perfect, and He is not like a pond. Maharaj Ji says He is a never-ending group (if you will) of streams - never ending. We can see the excitement in His creation, everything is new and fresh! Fresh grass, fresh trees, new children, new birds - fresh! It’s not stagnation; you do not become stale.

ਕੀਤਾ ਪਸਾਉ ਏਕੋ ਕਵਾਉ

keetaa pasaa-o ayko kavaa-o

ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਲਖ ਦਰੀਆਉ

tis tay ho-ay lakh daree-aa-o

So we don’t become a pond and are left to stagnate. In fact, you create; that’s actually the starting point for us to create. Some of the western sangat stayed after the last Gurpurab, and one of them said that Bulandpuri Sahib is the diamond of the world. Vaddey Baba Ji created it. So, you create, you do not stagnate, you do not go to sleep that I have reached somewhere, no, no, no!  

Today, Sumeet Singh gave me this email from Abbotsford, Canada:

Dear Baba ji, after my visit to Bulandpuri Sahib the past Gurpurab I am ever grateful to God for letting me visit. It was an eye opening experience as to what I am missing out on. I am equally impressed and lost for words as to the jewel of the world that’s being created under our nose.

So, you create, you do not become stale. Is the question answered or not? Is there any excitement left? The excitement starts from that point. Not that no excitement is left, and there is nowhere to go, actually that’s the point from where the real excitement starts! Thank you.

This soul who attended the last Barsee, had to leave early, and they left with this beautiful dhaarnaa that I am begging you to please let this pilgrimage be completed. I want to become decorated with the dust of the feet of this holy sangat. Please let me become decorated with that.

Dhaarnaa:

ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਸਾਂ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਰਹੇ, ਕਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੱਜ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ

hath jorh saaN maNgaday rahay, ki pooraa hon saadaa haj lain day  

ਵੇ ਪਾਕ ਇਹਨਾਂ  ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਧੂੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਜ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ

vay paak ihnaaN sangataaN dee, sanoo Dhoorhee vich saj lain day

Dhaarnaa (end)

Then the writer says, I am ever a sacrifice to my Beloved for allowing me to even recite His beloved Bani, His beloved utterances, to have darshan of 1430 Angs (body parts as in pages) of Ishq on Ishq; to behold Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which is a song of Ishq on Ishq. So beautiful!

Please come at the hirdaa.

Dhaarnaa:

ਨਾਲ ਆਈਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ, ਜਾਂ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆਇਓਂ ਸੱਜਣਾ

naal a-ee-aaN tayray ishq havaavaaN, jaaN dil baageeN aa-i-oN sajanaa

ਵੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਹਾਜਰੀ ਹੱਥ ਸਾਨੁੰ ਲਾਵੇ,

vay tayree haajaree hath sanoo laavay

Oh, my Beloved, Your presence touches me so gently.

ਨਾਦ ਗੀਤ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਗਾਵੇ

naad geet ishq daa oh gaavay

And the celestial music which is flowing is the song of Ishq, which you yourself are singing. The Celestial music is a song of Ishq which you, yourself are singing.

ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ ਕਰਾਵੇ

sanoo zindagee daa daras karaavay

To hear the Celestial Music is to hear the life.

ਕੁੱਖੇ ਪੈਣ ਲਈ ਵਾਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਮਾਰੇ

kukh pain la-ee vaajaaN oh maaray 

Celestial music is calling me, inviting me to enter into His womb so that He can give me rebirth; life can give me rebirth.

ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ਼ਕੇ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਪੁਗਾਵਾਂ

tay maiN ishkay dee reet pugaavaaN

And I just do the customary, natural thing for Ishq; What is that? When Ishq calls, Ishq responds.

His Ishq is calling me, the Ishq is calling me, and from this side the Ishq is responding.

ਵੇ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆਈਂ ਸੱਜਣਾ

vay dil baageeN aa-i-oN sajanaa

ਨਾਲ ਆਈਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ, ਜਾਂ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆਇਓਂ ਸੱਜਣਾ

naal a-ee-aaN tayray ishq havaavaaN, jaaN dil baageeN aa-i-oN sajanaa

Now back to the Siddha Gost, Siddha comes to Maharaj and sit before Him and say hail to the company of Siddhas. Maharaj ji says my most humble bowing down to my beloved who is true and infinite.

ਮਸਤਕੁ ਕਾਟਿ ਧਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਦੇਉ

mastak kaat Dharee tis aagai tan man aagai day-o

Then Maharaj Ji tells them that I have placed my head at the feet of my beloved means I no longer use my intellect, intelligence. I also placed my body and mind at the feet of my beloved.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਹਜ ਭਾਇ ਜਸੁ ਲੇਉ ॥੧॥

naanak sant milai sach paa-ee-ai sahj bhaa-ay jas lay-o.

Maharaj ji says if one meets a true Guru then the Guru unites that person with God. Our Guru is Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

ਸਹਜ ਭਾਇ ਜਸੁ ਲੇਉ

sahj bhaa-ay jas lay-o.

He says that if you meet a true Guru and obey him, live according to his teachings, then you will become peaceful. You will become totally still, and love would arise within you, and you would become the home of all virtues of God.

ਕਿਆ ਭਵੀਐ ਸਚਿ ਸੂਚਾ ਹੋਇ

ki-aa bhavee-ai sach soochaa ho-ay

The Siddhas, the Yogis, they are always on the go, they never stay at any one place. Maharaj Ji is saying that you are wandering all over; our consciousness cannot be transformed this way. It can be transformed only by uniting with God. It can be purified only by uniting with the pure one, the holy one.

ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੋਇ

saach sabad bin mukat na ko-ay.

He says without meditation, without the presence of God within, no one can become free of one’s mind. No one can become free of one’s mind, no one, period. And then the Siddhas ask:  

ਕਵਨ ਤੁਮੇ ਕਿਆ ਨਾਉ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਕਉਨੁ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਕਉਨੁ ਸੁਆਓ

kavan tumay ki-aa naa-o tumaaraa ka-un maarag ka-un su-aa-o

Then the next Siddhas ask Maharaj ji, who are you? What is your name? Because everybody everywhere would become speechless before Guru Nanak Dev Ji. So, they are asking who are you? We will talk about this tomorrow.

Ji, tomorrow is Amrit Sanchar.

Maharaj Ji doesn’t compel us to take Amrit. He says it has been ages and ages for you coming and going, remaining worried, stressful, anxious, insecure, all those things. Now come this way, give all your worries to me, your pains to me, and I can trade your pains with peace. He says:

ਦੁਖੁ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਘਰਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਇ

dukh parhar sukh ghar lai jaa-ay

He says, I can trade your pains with peace, with liberation from your mind, with liberation from coming and going. So we should do this favor to ourselves and not listen to the mind.

Dhaarnaa:

ਸੁਣ ਵੇ ਮਨਾ ਨਹੀਉਂ, ਇੰਝ ਵੇ ਕਰੀਦਾ

sun vay manaa nahee-oN, injh vay kareedaa

ਕੰਬਣ ਨਾ ਜੀਹਦੇ ਨਾਲ, ਹਾਏ ਵੇ ਮੁਨਾਰੇ

kamban naa jeeHday naal, haa-ay vay munaaray

 

That your sigh should not be weak, it should go right up to the top of the mansion where my Beloved dwells. My sigh should reach Him.

ਏਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸੋਜਣਿਆ ਵੇ, ਹੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਰੀਦਾ

ayho jihaa sohani-aa vay, hauka nahee bhareedaa
