Please let us bring our consciousness at the forehead in between the eyebrows, at the root of the nose. Feel His presence there. In the beginning we would feel some pressure; if you look more closely, Maharaj Ji also connects this point with the back of our head where the neck meets the body.

baavan achhar lok tarai sabh kachh in hee maahi

ay akhar khir jaahigay o-ay akhar in meh naahi

Let the sound strike at that point, in between the eyebrows.

Maharaj Ji says that we talk about whatever we see in the creation, using our own languages. We talk using words, and the words are made of alphabets. The one who created this entire creation, He cannot be talked about using these alphabets. He says no language of the world has letters with which God can be described. No language has those words which can describe my Beloved.

Yesterday, we were talking about, what would we say if someone asks what do you feel when you meditate? And someone said surtee (consciousness). But if someone asks what is surtee, what would we say?  The consciousness which has created her own world, that is the mind. It is fake consciousness because we experience through meditation that it disappears when we become one with God. So, our mind is not the true consciousness because it alters, it changes. And what is this mind? Even though the mind is not the true consciousness, we cannot have any idea what it is. Sometimes it starts laughing, sometimes it starts crying, sometimes it starts dancing, sometimes it is so worried - what is this thing!

Maharaj Ji says:

maatee ko putraa kaisay nachat hai

Maharaj Ji says look at how this dirt is dancing.

jab kachh paavai tab garab karat hai

When he gets something (worldly), he is so proud and wants to show off.

maa-i-aa ga-ee tab rovan lagat hai.

But when he loses the worldly things, he cries.

Even this fake consciousness is beyond our understanding, let alone the Divine. We will laugh at ourselves the day we see ourselves separately from this fake consciousness - who am I? Someone created me, He is running me, sustaining me.

I received a letter from Toronto, Canada. The writer writes these two lines that everybody is asking me how does your beloved look? How is he? And I tell them, I cannot talk about Him; all I can say is that there is no one like Him, that’s all!

nee kayho jihaa sahib tayraa puchhadee-aaN saaree-aaN

oHday jihaa hor naa ko-ee, maiN balihaaree haaN

How beautiful! All I can say is that there is no one like Him. And I am forever a sacrifice to Him.

Our consciousness cannot change, it cannot transform unless it keeps doing the same thing continuously. If someone remains angry all the time then with time his consciousness becomes all anger, nothing else, just anger. He would see nothing except that which would make him angry because he has become anger. He has been angry continuously and has become the anger. And the drug addicts who take drugs continuously, their consciousness too falls below the human consciousness into the animal kingdom’s consciousness. Maharaj Ji says that that person would not recognize that this is my mother, this is my sister, this is my brother, because he has become like an animal. So outside if we do anything, our consciousness drops down into the consciousness of the animal world. Life has been blessed to us to transform our consciousness, obviously upward. How do we do that? Please understand; this is very important to have this understanding in our consciousness. When we do meditation, we select some times - very early in the morning, or 2-3 times during the day, in the evening, and so on. We experience God, then stop, and then again we experience Him, we stop, and so on. This way we can never be reborn. This is very important, please understand this, we are entering into the process of re-birth.

satgur kai janmay

He says that the second birth we have to take out of the Guru. It can never happen if we keep doing what we are doing. The consciousness has to do something continuously for transformation to happen. Maharaj Ji says:

amrit parvaah sar atul bhandaar bhar parai hee tay parai apar apaar par

He says a stream of nectar is continuously moving within you. It’s continuously moving within you. It’s always on the go, never stops, and it goes deeper and deeper and deeper. He says that the stream is so deep - deeper, deeper, more deep, more deep! It’s not a pond, it’s not even an ocean even, it’s a stream, which is not just running, it is bottomless! We cannot fathom this. We would think that the river flows on top of something like earth, or on top of rocks, but no, He flows on top of Himself - that is why it cannot be described, it cannot be talked about! He says that that river is bottomless. That river is on a constant journey, on a constant pilgrimage.

Maharaj Ji says you must stay with that river if you want to be reborn. He says your consciousness must keep doing this in order to be transformed - not 3 times a day or 4 times a day or 5 times a day. There is no full stop. When we sit for an hour or 2 hours, we start moving with that river and then we stop (full stop) but that river keeps going, keeps moving. So, we must not put a full-stop to meditation. After we reach a certain point, then we start feeling that to remain with Him, with the river, is my nature. It’s not something to do, it’s natural for me, while to wander outside was not natural. Maharaj Ji says that I like being with you, I love it, but it’s you who leaves me. When you start liking being with me, then you can rest in peace that now there is no danger of losing the game of life. Instead of saying I feel Him, our language must become I keep experiencing Him, I keep feeling Him. By keeping experiencing Him, by staying in touch with Him, or by remaining in the womb of the celestial music, our rebirth can happen.

There is another letter. This son of mine writes that Baba Ji last year in New Zealand, you talked about anger. And I feel that when anger happens to me, I feel a pull at the naval point, and my whole stomach becomes very stiff, and when I put my consciousness there and meditate at that point, it becomes very relaxed and peaceful, and the anger is gone.

He says that I make notes of every diwan unfailingly, and I take those notes with me to the school. This person is going to university. I take those notes with me to school and look at them many times during the day. That notebook has become a very precious ornament for me that I keep with me, and I value that so much.

Let’s come at the hirdaa (heart area) please.

Dhaarnaa:

jaaN dil baageeN aa-i-oN sajanaa, naal a-ee-aaN tayray ishq havaavaaN

Oh my beloved, when you come to the garden of isqh at the hirda, with you come the ishq filled winds.

picchaa kardee javanee mayra, jag jit laiNdee sadkaa maiN tayraa

When you come in the garden of my heart, hirdaa, then I feel ever youthful. This is not the feeling that we feel in our physical youth. It’s a different feeling - ever youthful, where we can see that we remain ever youthful.

Maharaj Ji says:

Man jeetai jag jeet

If you win over your mind, you have won over the whole world, and my beloved when I am with you, I feel like I have won over the whole world.

aapaa uchhal uchhal paiNdaa mayraa

My insides spread her arms to embrace you.

tainoo raaNjhaa raaNjhaa aakh bulaavaaN, jaaN dil baageeN aa-ayN sajanaa,

naal a-ee-aaN tayray ishq havaavaaN, jaaN dil baageeN aa-i-oN sajanaa

Dhaarnaa (end)

Now let us refresh our memory which we started talking about last year - Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s meeting with the most accomplished Yogis in the world  during His first appearance. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is sitting and singing a love song and so many people are coming to Him. Siddhas, a group of most accomplished siddhas, yogis, naathas, were showing so many miracles to people, but people are coming to Maharaj Ji. Eventually the siddhas also came and sat down before Maharaj Ji, and said: hail, hail to the meeting of the yogis! They are yogis, and they are saying hail to us, we are so accomplished. They are calling themselves saints. And they are saying hail to this meeting of saints.

siDh sabhaa kar aasan baithay sant sabhaa jaikaaro

That group of siddhas are saying hail to us, hail to us, and Maharaj ji says:

tis aagai rahraas hamaaree saachaa apar apaaro

Siddhas are saying that we salute to this group of siddhas, and Maharaj Ji says that with utter humility I bow down to the Divine who is infinite. Tomorrow we will pick up from here what happens next.

Maharaj Ji says:

sun man mitar pi-aari-aa

He says oh my dear friend mind, listen to me, listen to me.

Dhaarnaa:

sun vay manaa nahee-oN, injh vay kareedaa

hothaaN naaloN dil chanaa, vakh nahee kareedaa

Our lips must remain connected to our heart, whatever we say it should come from our heart, not from our mind.

kamban naa jeeHday naal, haa-ay vay munaaray

ayho jihaa sajanaa hauka nahee bhareedaa

Sometimes a deep sigh arises from our inner depths. The dhaarnaa means means that a sigh should not be a weak sigh. When you sigh that I have wasted so much time in living out of my ego with the understanding that I’m separate from nature, I’m independent, and remained self-centered, ego-centered all the time, that was nothing but a sheer wastage of life. If a sigh happens with regret, then that sigh should shake your roots, should shake your whole being from the roots to the top of the tree. That sigh should not be weak, that sigh should be strong enough to change you, to change your attitude, to change your priorities, to change your way of being!
