ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
॥ ਜਪੁ॥
ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
When Maharaj Ji comes within us, He makes our inside’s warm.
ਜਿਉ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਧਾਤੁ ਸੁਧੁ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
ji-o baisantar Dhaat suDh ho-ay ti-o har kaa bha-o durmat mail gavaa-ay.
Gold is purified by heating; the impurities settle down and pure gold is then extracted. Similarly, Maharaj Ji says, I heat up the consciousness but this is different from the fire that burns within us due to anger, pride - that is the fire of the mind. When the Divine blesses us with His presence within, He heats up our inside, which is different - agan tap taa-o. Cold temperature is not conducive for that because Maharaj Ji heats up the body from the inside, and if the exterior environment is too cold then the effect of Maharaj Ji heating up the consciousness is reduced. For meditation, we should have a comfortable room temperature but not cold.
A blessed sangat who went to Indiana gave me this letter. The reason I read these letters is that if we are deserving of His blessings; if there is enough longing within us, if we are fully present, then whatever one tells of their experience that should happen to us.
He says that you have told us many times in Khajana Darshan that the eye of our true self is like a wide angle camera eye. I want to share my experience that I had on June 30, 2023 after the Khajana Darshan. When I came outside after the deewan finished and I looked up, everything looked like one picture to me - all the people, trees, land, sky, cars; all were in one picture. My eyes were in total bliss and insides were full of love. Then I witnessed myself taking dayg parshaad. I saw the pashaad was on the palm of one hand and the fingers of the other hand were picking up the parshaad and putting that into my mouth. For the first time, I saw the movements of my mouth. It was just an amazing, amazing experience. I did not want this experience to end. The consciousness was looking where to go in order to be alone and remain connected. I went behind the jorhaa ghar; there are lots of tall trees there. All the trees seemed tall and peaceful. As you have explained many times in Khajana Darshan, one does not want to see which tree it is - you just see all trees as one; you don’t see which person it is- all people feel as one. The trees were saying how to remain peaceful even after becoming so tall. Then I went inside Darbar Sahib, my eyes remained closed and I remained one with the Divine. He says, I intensely long to remain in that state of consciousness but I am scared to lose that; I am scared of the world, scared of the people in my house, scared of the mind. What should I do?
Two things - one is that this fear is very important.
ਭੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
bhai bin bhagat na hova-ee naam na lagai pi-aar.
This fear is going to keep us walking steadfastly on this path. Anything that we do while remaining in this fear will be good. Secondly, we should appeal to the people in our house that please revisit my case - I am already in fear and scared, so please don’t scare me anymore.
Maharaj Ji says:
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖੈ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਸਿਖ ਸਹੀ ॥
naanak aakhai ray manaa sunee-ai sikh sahee.
Oh, my mind, listen to the true everlasting laws of the Divine.
ਲੇਖਾ ਰਬੁ ਮੰਗੇਸੀਆ ਬੈਠਾ ਕਢਿ ਵਹੀ ॥
laykhaa rab mangaysee-aa baithaa kadh vahee.
The Divine is keeping a ledger, keeping account of how you are using every second of the time given to you.
ਤਲਬਾ ਪਉਸਨਿ ਆਕੀਆ ਬਾਕੀ ਜਿਨਾ ਰਹੀ ॥
talbaa pa-usan aakee-aa baakee jinaa rahee.
Maharaj Ji says that I tell people in the world how to live human life, and those who remained aakee (rebellious), those who did not listen to Me, I keep track of their deeds - whom they owe something, whom they hurt, and so on. Their name is called out.
ajraa-eel faraystaa hosee aa-ay ta-ee.
They are called out and sent to the angel of death.
ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਣੁ ਨ ਸੁਝਈ ਭੀੜੀ ਗਲੀ ਫਹੀ ॥
aavan jaan na sujh-ee bheerhee galee fahee.
Maharaj Ji says, because that person died, he or she did not become immortal by uniting with the Lord. He remained rebellious to the Lord so he died; the angel of death looks at his account and sends him back to the world and says now balance your account.
ਕੂੜ ਨਿਖੁਟੇ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਓੜਕਿ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੀ ॥
koorh nikhutay naankaa orhak sach rahee.
He says those who practiced to dwell with Me while they were in the world, after their time is up, they dwell with Me, they become immortal, and others remain in the cycle of birth and death.
Maharaj Ji says:
ਰੈਣਾਇਰ ਮਹਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੈ ਕਰਮੀ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
rainaa-ir meh sabh kichh hai karmee palai paa-ay.
rainaa-ir means a flowing river. God is flowing a river of ishq within all of us, starting from the bottom of the spine, through the navel point, through the hirdaa (heart area), through the throat, between the eyebrows, and then the top of the head. Maharaj Ji also calls this:
ਅਸਮਾਨ ਮੵਿਾਨੇ ਲਹੰਗ ਦਰੀਆ ਗੁਸਲ ਕਰਦਨ ਬੂਦ ॥
asmaan mi-yaanay lahang daree-aa gusal kardan bood.
ਕਰਿ ਫਕਰੁ ਦਾਇਮ ਲਾਇ ਚਸਮੇ ਜਹ ਤਹਾ ਮਉਜੂਦੁ ॥
kar fakar daa-im laa-ay chasmay jah tahaa ma-ujood.
Please feel this river of ishq flowing within all of us. We all are dwelling in that river of ishq (ishq chanaa), and that river is taking us upward into the skies to our beloved so that we realize that we are the truth. Another beautiful soul from Indiana wrote a poem and sent it to me.
Dhaarnaa:
ਅੱਜ ਫਿਰ ਖੋਲ ਕੇ… ਬਹਿ ਗਈ….ਤੇਰੇ ਖ਼ਤ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ
aj fir khol kay bahi ga-ee tayray khat puraanay
ਤੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਵਸਾਏ… ਆਣ ਕੇ….ਇਹ ਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਬੇਲੇ
tooN fir vasaa-ay aan kay….ih chanaa day baylay
My Beloved, the True Guru, Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, it’s because of Him that we are here at the river of ishq.
ਇੱਥੇ ਨਚਦੀਆਂ ਹੀਰਾਂ…. ਫਿਰਦੀਆਂ…ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੇ
ithay nachdee-aaN heeraaN firdee-aaN….. vich ishq day maylay
Because of You, my Beloved, your beloved soul brides are dancing and this is the festival of ishq.
ਬਣ ਰਾਂਝਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ…. ਨੱਚਦਾ…..ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਬਰੀਂ ਖੇਲੇ
ban raaNjhaa hai oh….nachdaa…..vich ambreeN khaylay
Feel this river whom He calls river in the skies, it’s dancing! He’s dancing in the skies.
ਹੈ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ….. ਵੰਡਦਾ…ਉਹ ਹੁਣ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ
hai ishq sugaataaN ….vand-daa…. oh hun day vaylay
He is distributing gifts of ishq. At what time? In the present, in the moment! When we feel Him, He touches our consciousness and fills it with ishq. He is blessing those with gifts of ishq who remain in the moment, in His presence, to receive the gift of ishq.
ਤੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਵਸਾਏ… ਆਣ ਕੇ….ਇਹ ਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਬੇਲੇ
tooN fir vasaa-ay aan kay….ih chanaa day baylay
We didn’t come to Maharaj Ji. He came to us.

Ji, we are visiting the times of Guru Amar Das Ji, the third appearance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. We visited quite a bit of it during COVID and recently continued from that point. At that time, Agra used to be the capital of India and the emperor was Akbar. Aurangzeb later moved it from Agra to Delhi. Hindu Pandits went to Agra and complained that Guru Amar Das Ji had illegally captured their land. Akbar asked the Governor of Lahore to write a letter and conduct an investigation. It was concluded that the allegations were baseless and the Pandits were removed from the emperor's court. Later, Akbar was visiting Lahore and the Pandits again reached out to him with a plea. We saw over the last week that Bhai Jaythaa Jee responded to their questions after which Akbar said to the Pandits that these holy men, fakeers, are an image of God. There is no difference between Allah and a man of God. Your complaints are minor - they don’t recite this mantraa, or worship the sun. One should not argue with them. You should also live peacefully; listen to Guru Amar Das Ji, it will benefit you as well. Upon hearing this, the Pandits left. Bhai Jaythaa Jee went to Choonaa Mandee, his birth place, and stayed there for two days. Mangoes were not in season at that time in Lahore, but he saw that a store was selling mangoes. He purchased them for Guru Amar das Ji with all the money he had. Bhai Jaythaa Jee had to walk all the way from Lahore to Goindwaal and since the mangoes were starting to rot, Bhai Jaythaa Jee ate them while keeping Guru Amar Das Ji in his consciousness. When he returned to Goindwaal Sahib he described the events in Lahore to Guru Amar Das Ji. Guru Amar Das Ji was very happy and asked Bhai Jaythaa Jee - where are the donations that the sangat gave to you in Lahore? Jaythaa Jee said: Maharaj Ji, I purchased mangoes for you with all that money I received but the mangoes started to rot on the way so I ate them while keeping you in my consciousness. Guru Amar Das Ji smiled and said, I am just asking, I knew that; I myself ate those mangoes. Rest, we will see later.
It’s all about Him, it’s all His play. He Himself makes His creation and depending on one’s desires, He sends them into the world. Those who are fortunate ones and are pleasing to Him, He shows them the way. It is His mercy that anyone who is united with the Divine is because of the Guru. We are also here because of the True Guru. Otherwise in the world, Maharaj Ji says:
ਕਿਝੁ ਨ ਬੁਝੈ ਕਿਝੁ ਨ ਸੁਝੈ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਗੁਝੀ ਭਾਹਿ ॥
kijh na bujhai kijh na sujhai dunee-aa gujhee bhaahi.
He says, the world is unaware; they don’t know but their insides are burning.
ਸਾਂਈਂ ਮੇਰੈ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਤ ਹੰ ਭੀ ਦਝਾਂ ਆਹਿ ॥੩॥
saa-eeN mayrai changa keetaa naahee ta haN bhee dajhaaN aahi. ||3||
What a noble deed my Lord did to me; He took me out of the world otherwise I would be burning in the world; burning in the fire of lust, anger, greed, ego, attachment.
jo jo deesai so so rogee.
He says everybody in the world is diseased of ego and he has become our physician to make us healthy, egoless.
rog rahit mayraa satgur jogee.
Only my beloved True Guru is the physician; not only that He is not diseased, He is the physician.
Dhaarnaa:
ਸੁਣ ਨੀ ਮਾਏ ਮੇਰੀਏ……. ਮੈਂ ਜੋਗੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਇੱਕ
sun nee maa-ay mayree-ay, maiN jogee mili-aa ik
Oh my mother, I have met a Jogee, He’s called True Guru Jogee.
ਕੀ ਦੱਸਾਂ ਕਿੰਝ ਸਮਝਾਵਾਂ….ਉਹ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਇਆ ਕਿੱਤ
kee dasaaN kinjh samjhaavaaN ….oh man noo bhaa-i-aa kit
How can I make you understand how that physician just overwhelmed me.
ਸੌਂਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਏ ਮੇਰੀਏ…ਉਹ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਵੀ ਅਦਿੱਸ
souNh tayree maa-ay mayree-ay….oh disdaa vee adis
Oh, my mother, I swear by you: He can be seen yet He cannot be seen. Guru Granth Sahib Ji has a body, a form; He can be seen but still He cannot be seen. Even when Maharaj Ji was on this Earth in a physical form, most just saw the body; only the rare ones saw the truth.
