ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
In the previous village, in Edmonton, there was a question that very advanced topics are being covered so the new sangat is not understanding. Ji, there is the worldly education where there are different grade levels and classrooms. Here, whether someone is coming for the first time or someone is about to become egoless, both are in the same class and He is sitting on the throne. Maharaj Ji says whosoever is truly hungry, will understand.
The new sangat please, instead of singing, just kindly become and remain focused at your ears, and hear what Maharaj Ji says, because this singing is totally different singing.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ਜਉ ਗਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ॥
naanak bha-ojal paar parai ja-o gaavai parabh kay geet.
Gurbanee is the songs our Beloved has sung for the souls and sometimes for the mind too, because initially when we come on this path, we are all mind. Mind means the worldly consciousness.
ਕਾਹੇ ਮਨ ਤੂ ਡੋਲਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
kaahay man too doltaa har mansaa pooranhaar.
Oh my mind, why do you waver? Our Beloved is the fulfiller of our innermost longing. Oh my mind, do not waver. What you really long for, He bestows those very virtues upon us. What we really really long for is that I should remain alive and not be in dreams; it doesn’t mean just being alive, it means full of life; every pore of my insides should feel life. The second longing is that I should never die. Third is that I should always remain in bliss. And these are the three main virtues of the Divine. He will tell us how to do that.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਵਿਸਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
satgur purakh Dhi-aa-ay too sabh dukh visaaranhaar.
Remain focused at the True Guru. Become focused at the True Guru; in other words become focused at whatever the Guru says to you.
ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਵਿਸਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
sabh dukh visaaranhaar.
The five robbers always make you suffer, put you on fire. When you become focused at the True Guru, you will become peaceful.
What does the True Guru say? He says:
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਮਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਜਾਹਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥
har naamaa aaraaDh man sabh kilvikh jaahi vikaar.
The True Guru says that worship and adore your Beloved.
sabh kilvikh jaahi vikaar.
Do this but remember, this is a path of total honesty, genuineness, sincerity. We cannot do this half heartedly. Adore Him, worship Him, be in ishq with Him, and all your past wrong deeds, sins will be washed, and you will have pure thoughts in your mind.
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਗਾ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥
jin ka-o poorab likhi-aa tin rang lagaa nirankaar.
Maharaj Ji says that our consciousness is moving in a direction created by its momentum in that direction. If one has been focused on obtaining worldly pleasures in past lives, then they are destined to keep doing the same. Those who have been on this path of ishq, are destined to and would have ishq with the Divine. Youth who are attracted to this path from a young age, that cannot just be a phenomenon from this life.
ਓਨੀ ਛਡਿਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੁਆਵੜਾ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
onee chhadi-aa maa-i-aa su-aavarhaa Dhan sanchi-aa naam apaar.
They turned their face away from the world; the world that seems to be very appealing on the surface.
ਫਰੀਦਾ ਏ ਵਿਸੁ ਗੰਦਲਾ ਧਰੀਆਂ ਖੰਡੁ ਲਿਵਾੜਿ ॥
fareedaa ay vis gandlaa Dharee-aaN khand livaarh.
Maharaj Ji says the world seems very beautiful, as if it is sweet like honey, but it turns out to be poison. What is the meaning of poison? What does poison do? It kills us. If you fall after any worldly pleasure, it disconnects us from the Divine and makes us asleep - it is just like poison. The worldly pleasures disconnect us from our Beloved. We may be able to connect with Him, but that connection is very weak and unblissful.
ਅਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਇਕਤੈ ਲਿਵੈ ਮੰਨੇਨਿ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
athay pahar iktai livai mannayn hukam apaar.
As the Divine presence continues to increase within us and the mind starts to decrease, we start understanding His hukam - whether He wants us to do something or not.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
jan naanak mangai daan ik dayh daras man pi-aar.
He says just beg Him for one thing which our insides long for. Maharaj Ji says beg for one thing, for one gift, one charity from our Beloved, that please bless me with the vision of your darshan, and ishq in me.
ਇਸਕ ਮੁਹਬਤਿ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਕਰਤੇ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
isak mohabat naankaa laykhaa kartay paas.
There is no word in any language for mohabat and ishq. Mohabat means moh + ab; moh is attachment, and ab means the one who is now - that is the Divine: He was yesterday, He is now, and He will be forever. When one attaches with the Divine that is mohabat.
ਦਿਲਹੁ ਮੁਹਬਤਿ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸੇਈ ਸਚਿਆ ॥
dilahu mohabat jinH say-ee sachi-aa.
Lets please become focused at the navel point.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਮਨ…..ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ……ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਮਨ…..ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਆਰਾਧਿ……
har naamaa aaraaDh man….har naama aaraaDh…….har naamaa aaraaDh man….
While going around the navel point in an anti-clockwise direction, we are going to complete at least one cycle while singing har naamaa aaraaDh man - oh my mind, let us worship the Divine. Divine would come here, and we are going to worship him.
Please feel the movement, however feeble it may be at the navel point. That’s His gesture that yes, I’m here; I’m here.
Please look closely, we should feel some movement there, which is the presence of the Divine Himself, and also heat.
bhao khalaa agan tap taa-o.
ਭਾਂਡਾ ਭਾਉ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤਿਤੁ ਢਾਲਿ ॥
bhaaNdaa bhaa-o amrit tit dhaal.
The Divine heats up the consciousness of the mind and transforms it into ishq.
If we don’t feel like getting up very early in the morning, or don’t have any joy, anticipation, love for coming to the holy congregations, singing His songs, it means He is closing the door to us. We must beg him.

ਦਰ ਨਾ ਢੋ ਵੇ ਬਾਬਲਾ……ਰੱਖ ਤੱਤੀ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ
dar naa dho vay babalaa…rakh tatee dee laaj
Oh, my Beloved, please do not close the door to me. I am burning, please save my honor.
ਮੈਂ ਸਿਦਕ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਤੈਂਡੜੇ……ਦੇਹ ਕਿਧਰੋਂ ਆਵਾਜ਼
maiN sidak bharosay taiNd-rhay….dayH kiDhroN aavaaz
I have full faith in you, I have been patiently waiting, please respond back. Please let me feel You.
Remain alert about the whole insides, and feel where He makes us feel Him.
ਅਜੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਜੰਮਣਾ……ਹੀਰ ਰਖਾਉਣਾ ਨਾਮ
ajay taaN maiN murh jam-naa….heer rakhaa-ounaa naam
I’m yet to be reborn where my name is going to be Heer - His beloved.
ਮੈਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਬਣਾਉਣੇ ਪੇਕੜੇ……..ਕਰਨਾ ਝੰਗ ਸਲਾਮ
maiN navayN banaa-ounay paykrhay……karnaa jhaNg salaam
Previously my parents house was outside in the world, now my parents house is going to be within, beyond this world. jhaNg is the name of the place where Heer was born.
ਅਜੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਂਦ ਵੇ……..ਅਜੇ ਤਾਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਕਾਜ
ajay taaN maiN vich neeNd vay……ajay taaN rahiNday kaaj
My consciousness is still asleep and my affairs are incomplete; I need to wake up to become my true self.

ਸੇਖਾ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਜੋਰੁ ਛਡਿ ਤੂ ਭਉ ਕਰਿ ਝਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
saykhaa andrahu jor chhad too bha-o kar jhal gavaa-ay.
Please feel.
Maharaj Ji says your inside remains tight, always on guard to defend yourself if someone says something to you; you are ready to say things back to them; it makes your inside tight. He says become relaxed from within; you are not relaxed from within because of the thoughts; your thoughts make you tense. The desires of the worldly lust, and all other worldly desires make you tense and one’s consciousness becomes hard. By remaining tense because of the worldly desires, your consciousness becomes hard within and that consciousness is a crazy consciousness.
ਸੇਖਾ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਜੋਰੁ ਛਡਿ ਤੂ ਭਉ ਕਰਿ ਝਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
saykhaa andrahu jor chhad too bha-o kar jhal gavaa-ay.
He says our consciousness becomes hard, crazy, mad because of the continuous entertainment of worldly thoughts; we become tense within and that consciousness is mad. He says become relaxed. Have fear of God and that will help you get rid of this crazy consciousness. God is watching every thought of yours; he is watching what your agenda is. You have been given a limited time here.
ਸੇਖਾ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਜੋਰੁ ਛਡਿ ਤੂ ਭਉ ਕਰਿ ਝਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
saykhaa andrahu jor chhad too bha-o kar jhal gavaa-ay.
Let’s make our insides relaxed, especially the tummy area. While looking at the navel point, let us please make that area relaxed.
saykh means those who are customers of the truth. Maharaj Ji says you are a customer of the truth.
We should wake up early during Amrit Vaylaa and come to Darbar Sahib for Asa dee Vaar and Simran (meditation). Then, the whole day we will carry the beautiful consciousness that the Divine has blessed us with in the morning. We should make sure that every morning, the very first being whom we encounter is our Beloved, the Divine.

The whole day remained so fragrant. Perhaps, You walked through the day; that was Your fragrance. The whole day I felt your fragrance.
ਦਰਦ-ਏ-ਦਿੱਲ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਲਈ ਫਿਰਦਾ……..ਵਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਦੱਸਿਆ
dard-ay-dil har ko-ee la-ee firdaa……vaavaaN nay saanoo aj dasi-aa
Because my consciousness since early morning has been very humble, I have been able to sense that everyone is carrying some pain within.

ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਈ ਸਗਲੇ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
pragat bha-ee saglay jug aNtar gur naanak kee vadi-aa-ee
ਬਲਿਓ ਚਰਾਗੁ ਅੰਧ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਰ ਮਹਿ ਸਭ ਕਲਿ ਉਧਰੀ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਧਰਮ ॥
bali-o charaag anDh-yaar meh sabh kal uDhree ik naam Dharam.
When Guru Nanak Dev Ji descended on this Earth, it was as if a Divine lamp was lit in the midst of pitch darkness
He brought such a gift to the world. What happened with that gift?
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਭਵਨ ਮਹਿ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ॥
pargat sagal har bhavan meh jan naanak gur paarbarahm.
bhavan - means body. Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj brought such a gift to the world which makes the Divine appear in everybody’s home within. Everybody!

ik vaaree has kay……bulaa lai jeen jogi-aa vay……kihrhaa tayraa….. rus ja-oo khudaa
jeen jogi-aa means one who is full of life, full of the Divine.
Just call me once happily, call my name happily, look at me happily. You Yourself are the Divine; it’s not like God is going to be upset at You.
