ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
॥ ਜਪੁ॥
ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
In addition to the 22 manjee’s (cots) Guru Amar Das Ji assigned duties to other Gurmukhs to spread the message of this path, the message of love. Some of these Gurmukhs were Bhai Allay Yaar, Bhai Rang Shah, Bhai Bhikhaa Bhatt, Bhai Khanoo Ji, and Bhai Kedari Ji from Batala.
Bhai Kedari Ji was very rich and totally absorbed in the worldly pleasures. Once he went to Goindwal Sahib and he heard Maharaj Ji uttering this paurhee of Anand Sahib:
ਏ ਸਰੀਰਾ ਮੇਰਿਆ ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇ ਕੈ ਕਿਆ ਤੁਧੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥
ay sareeraa mayri-aa is jag meh aa-ay kai ki-aa tuDh karam kamaa-i-aa.
ਕਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਰੀਰਾ ਜਾ ਤੂ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
ke karam kamaa-i-aa tuDh sareeraa jaa too jag meh aa-i-aa.
Karam means deeds but here it means grace or mercy.
Oh, this body and mind of mine (because they are together): what have you earned while being in this world? The thing which was to be earned was His grace, His mercy.
Those utterances hit Bhai Kedari Ji very hard, he started crying. After that he stayed at Goindwaal Sahib for some time until, with Guru’s grace, his consciousness became very high. Then he traveled far and near, spreading the message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Please become totally focused in between the eyebrows and keep the word Waheguru in your consciousness. Feel either some pressure at that point, or some power revolving in an anticlockwise direction, or some power from that point at the forehead to the back of the head where our head meets the neck.
ਪਵਣੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਧਰਤਿ ਮਹਤੁ ॥
pavan guroo paanee pitaa maataa Dharat mahat.
Maharaj Ji says revere and feel grateful to the wind, because of who you are able to breathe, and your soul can stay within the body, so that you can undertake the journey within. He says, it’s the breath which keeps you alive and as long as you are alive you can undertake the journey of realizing your true self and becoming one with the Divine. Same with water - revere the water, feel grateful because almost seventy percent of this body of yours is water.
He says bow down to your Mother Earth who gives you food, supports you; is the support underneath your feet, source of your nutrition and nourishment. Then, bow down to the day. During the day you can work and earn your livelihood. Bow down to the night. It comes as a lullaby to you so you can rest in its divine lap. Have you ever met a mother who always remains spreaded under your feet, and gives you food, nourishment to sustain you?
One thing which is most important to understand is that if we are totally engrossed in worldly desires then we are not available to feel gratitude towards these; we cannot! We can only do that if we are free of our mind. That freedom from our mind is called mokshaa or muktee or gatee.
ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਆ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
tay saaDhoo har maylhu su-aamee jin japi-aa gat ho-ay hamaaree.
We cannot really know what life is until we are free to experience life. If we are the slave of our mind then we are not free to experience life; we can never know what life was.
In order to really feel the gratitude, we have to experience the gratitude, not just have a thought about the wind or water and say that I am grateful to you. Tomorrow, we will experience how to have the feeling of gratitude.
ਸੋਇ ਸੁਣੰਦੜੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੰਦੜੀ ਲਾਲੀ ॥
so-ay sunand-rhee mayraa tan man ma-ulaa naam japand-rhee laalee.
Hearing You gives me an idea about You, and that alone makes my senses and my consciousness blossom.
Today, a very beautiful note came in which the writer says that with the appearance of my Beloved also comes dancing; the ishq! When I call You lovingly, I feel You; You come running and I feel ishqful towards You!
ਪੰਧਿ ਜੁਲੰਦੜੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਅੰਦਰੁ ਠੰਢਾ ਗੁਰ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ॥
panDh juland-rhee mayraa andar thandhaa gur darsan daykh nihaalee.
Maharaj Ji says: Oh, my Beloved, walking steadily towards You, my insides remain peaceful, calm, and free of the fire of the mind.
When we are blessed with Amrit, we are also blessed with this blessing that starting today, you are going to steadily, continuously keep walking towards Me until we become one. What a blessing!
Please come close to that point; feel the skin of the forehead at that point. New sangat please touch a fingertip at the point in between the eyebrows at the root of the nose, and feel that point. Once you start feeling that point, then remove the finger and stay there.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
naanak nadree nadar nihaal.
How beautiful! Maharaj Ji says: when you feel Him, you are looking at Him, you are beholding Him. And when you are beholding Him, He throws a glance of grace upon you, and makes you intoxicatedly blissful and happy.
ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ……..ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ……..ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ……..ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ……..ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ……..

ਉੱਠੋ ਵੇ ਰੱਬੋਂ…..ਵਤਨ ਸੰਭਾਲੋ……ਕੀਤੀ ਜੇ ਦੇਰੀ ਕਿਉਂ
utho vay raboN….vatan sambhaalo….keetee jay dayree ki-oN
Oh my precious friends, please wake up and recognize that this human body of yours is His mansion, His land, His space, His country.
Maharaj Ji says:
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
parabh tuDh bin doojaa ko nahee naanak kee ardaas.
Are we? Do we even exist? It is just a thought, but this thought cannot be broken with another thought; only He can eliminate this thought. When our consciousness is saturated with Him, then He is going to ask: see if you can find yourself? That’s when we are going to realize that it’s all Him.
ਨੈਣ ਸਿੱਲੇ ਹਰ ਦਮ ਨਾ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ……ਦਿਲ ਨਾ ਪਿਘਲਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ
nain silay har dam naa rahiNday….dil naa pighli-aa ki-oN
If you haven’t found the Divine yet, then how come your eyes are not watery; how come you don’t even cry? Why haven’t you become so tender, so gentle, so soft?
ਜੁਗ ਵਿਹਾਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਂਦ ਦੇ…….ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਫਿਕਰ ਨਾ ਕਿਉਂ
jug vihaa-ay vich neeNd day…..ajay vee fikar naa ki-oN
You have been asleep throughout the ages. How come you are still not worried about waking up? How come you are still not ready to wake up?

Please keep feeling his presence at the forehead. In Sukhmani Sahib, Maharaj Ji says:
ਜਹ ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
jah achhal achhayd abhayd samaa-i-aa.
Maharaj Ji says the Divine is hidden deep within you.
ਊਹਾ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
oohaa kiseh bi-aapat maa-i-aa.
This is to be understood. Maharaj Ji says that one remains in the mind, one remains in the illusionary world outside, one becomes attracted to the illusionary world outside through one’s senses - eyes, ears, nose, tongue, hands, touch. But, He says that these senses cannot reach the Divine within; He is deep within. That’s why the Divine remains unattached, and He cannot be deceived.
ਆਪਸ ਕਉ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥
aapas ka-o aapeh aadays.
Maharaj Ji says in Sukhmani Sahib that He bows down to Himself, He is worshiping Himself. But what does this really mean? Worship can be done to the other, bowing down can be down to others. So what does this mean?
This is so deep that it cannot be understood with intelligence. It can only be understood when we are so absorbed in the Divine that our consciousness is not attached to anything on the outside. At that point, we are the consciousness that is full of gratitude, full of ishq; our true self. It’s not that He is bowing down to Himself or He is doing chaur sahib on Himself. We’ll talk about this tomorrow; we will understand more about the state of our real self or the Divine.
We should become anxious to move away from this state of our consciousness, the mental state of our consciousness.

ਐਸ ਮੈਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡਾ….ਲਗਦਾ ਨਹੀ ਦਿਲ ਹੁਣ….ਨੀ ਮਾਏ ਸਾਨੂੰ….ਕਾਹਲੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਪਵੇ
ais maiN naal saadaa…….lagdaa nahee dil hun……nee maa-ay saanoo……kaaHlee jihee pavay
ਪੀੜ ਕੋਈ ਅਗੰਮੀ ਜਿਹੀ……ਜੱਗ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਪੱਲਾ ਕਰ……ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਵਿਲਕਦੀ ਰਵੇ
peerh ko-ee agamee jihee…..jag koloN palaa kar……murh murh vilakdee ravay
Deep within me, some pain keeps wailing, again and again, while hiding itself from the world. It does not want to be seen by the world.
If we are not feeling the pain, and we are just singing, then we are faking it. Faking it.
ਉਦਾਸ ਜਿਹੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ….ਸਦਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੀ……ਕਿਸੇ….ਚੰਦਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਬਜੇ ਕਰੇ
udaas jihay rahiNday boohay…..sadaa inHaaN mahilaaN day nee……kisay…..chandaray nay kabjay karay
The doors to this mansion always remain sad, depressed, and the doors are these eyes, ears, nose, tongue, hirdaa. The doors to this mansion are possessed by somebody else. People tell me his name is mind. Mind is possessing my eyes, my ears, my nose, my speech, my hands, and touch. These doors remain sad because they are not free.
I feel the one who is possessing my senses is definitely not noble.

There is a letter from a daughter of mine. She writes:
I am ever so grateful to Maharaj Ji for this experience, for blessing me, and giving me permission to do sangat for the last two months at all the asthaans in North America. Every place taught me different lessons and experiences. Some asthaan taught me patience, some brought pain of separation to me, another asthhan made me profoundly motivated, and from another asthhan, I received a gift of love, and from another gratitude. Now I hear the Anhad Shabad all the time, and feel the Divine at the root point, at the navel point, at the tenth gate, in between the eyebrows, and the hirdaa; behind the hirdaa it tickles me. Baba Ji, I’m very excited to show myself to my family and those around me, that how sangat has changed me throughout these two months.
Betay, this is a good motivation. But beyond this, the real thing is to feel that these blessings were bestowed by the Divine, enjoy these blessings and be grateful to Him. I understand that at your age you may feel like showing this to others but that means deep transformation has not taken place within us.
Yesterday we read some lines from a letter: (at 1:10:32)
ਬਾਬਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਹਿਲੀਂ ਵੇ…..ਅਸੀਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਉਡਾਰੀਆਂ…. ਲਾ ਚੱਲੇ
baabal tayray mahileeN vay……aseeN pi-aar udaaree-aaN …….laa chalay
ਵਿੱਛੜ ਜਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਲੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ……ਤੇ ਬਣੇ ਦਸਤੂਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੋ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਚੱਲੇ
vichharh jaan noo….. mooloN nahee jee kardaa……tay banay dastoor toN ho… majboor chalay

uNjh kathay haaN aapaaN sabh…..dar sachay….kayval faaslay sareeraaN day paa chalay
Now we are always together in His court; forever! We are just leaving; only the bodies are going to become separated.
