ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

॥ ਜਪੁ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥  ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥

Please come either at the hirdaa or at the point in between the eyebrows.

ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਾਗਾ ॥

jis kai mastak karam ho-ay so sayvaa laagaa.

Maharaj Ji says only those who are fortunate enough; upon whom the Divine puts His glance of mercy, only they become in ishq with God, worshiping ishq, feeling grateful.

ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਸੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗਾ ॥

jis gur mil kamal pargaasi-aa so an-din jaagaa.

Maharaj Ji says that the lotus flower blossoms in their heart, or at any of those seven holy places, and they remain awake day and night. Awake means they either remain feeling Maharaj Ji’s presence within or this thought remains with them that Maharaj Ji is with them.

ਲਗਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸਭੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥

lagaa rang charnaarbind sabh bharam bha-o bhaagaa.

How beautiful! Maharaj Ji says that the flower which blossoms within, blossoms from the feet of the Divine, and that flower is nothing but the blossoming of ishq.

Please see the language of the Divine.

Yesterday, a son of mine sent a letter. He said everyone says recite paath (Gurbaanee) but the language of Gurbaanee is different, and I don’t know it. It’s a very precious question. We must first understand ourselves and then sit with our children and share with them. What a life Maharaj Ji has planned for us! It happens gradually. Have patience. Outside if you need to do something, we need to move our hands and feet fast. But inside, if you want to do something fast, then all hands and feet need to be made still. The one who keeps doing sangat, becomes imbued with the color of ishq. Ishq is worshiping (poojaa)! He Himself brings us to sangat and makes us keep coming to sangat consistently, and colors our consciousness Himself.

ਸਾਡੀ ਲਾਈ ਸੀ ਤੂੰ ਸੰਗਤ ਸਿਉਂ……

saadee laa-ee see tooN saNgat sioN

You brought me to sangat. 

ਵੇ ਪਤਾ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ…….ਕਦੋਂ ਬਣਦਾ ਇਬਾਦਤ ਗਇਉਂ

vay pataa hee naa lagi-aa….kadoN ban-daa ibaadat ga-ioN

You became my worship so silently; I didn’t even recognize this happening.

ਲਗਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸਭੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥

lagaa rang charnaarbind sabh bharam bha-o bhaagaa.

How beautiful! Maharaj Ji says that as we start falling in ishq with Him, our misconception that all kinds of pleasures, comforts, real satisfaction and contentment is outside - that misconception disappears and some true knowledge comes in. Also, all the fears and insecurities are gone too.

These two things are directly proportional: the more thankful we are, the more fearless we are. Less thankful we are, more fearful we are.

When Maharaj Ji says pavan guroo, it does not mean that the pavan (air) is going to make us meet God; what Maharaj Ji means is that the way we are so deeply grateful to the Guru, we must be very grateful and respectful to the pavan (air) as well. The thought we have when we are being grateful decides whether we were truly grateful or not. When we become awake and feel the breath going within and coming out, then while feeling the breath, having the sincere thought of gratefulness that You are keeping me alive; because of You I am alive, because of You I can meet my Beloved, everything which I feel is mine is because of You and You ask for nothing in return from me. You keep working on me, blessing me with life, day and night, all my life without asking for anything in return. This thought would kill us! I am so poor that all I can say is that I am grateful. This is how we are grateful. Just saying that I am grateful to air, grateful to water is not it.

Please recognize the nature of nature. How beautiful is the name nature! Nature means natural, the same as Gods’. All His creation has the same nature as God’s nature, and God’s nature is ishq, gratitude.

Human life is so mysterious and it is so deep and so profound that every act is so subtle. If a loving thought comes to us then the loving vibrations start happening. Those loving vibrations which emit the feelings of love fill our insides and also come outside of us and affect the people around us. If we are sitting with somebody and you can feel the other person’s feelings, thoughts; if his thoughts towards us are loving and compassionate, our insides will recognize it. We will feel relaxed and loving towards that person. Both of us may be sitting with eyes closed, and vice versa. This is our true nature. How beautiful, how peaceful, how glorious is our true nature, and how noisy and ugly is our egoistic nature.

Please remain focused at the hirdaa.

ਲਗਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸਭੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥

lagaa rang charnaarbind sabh bharam bha-o bhaagaa.

ਆਤਮੁ ਜਿਤਾ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਆਗੰਜਤ ਪਾਗਾ ॥

aatam jitaa gurmatee aaganjat paagaa.

Beautiful! Following the advice of the Guru - doing seva, meditation, worshiping Him, having ishq with Him, remaining in a grateful state of consciousness, it makes us meet our true self. Please recognize how the Divine speaks.

aatam - true self

aaganjat - that cannot be destroyed; the Divine

paagaa - obtained

ਆਗੰਜਤ ਪਾਗਾ

aaganjat paagaa.

Maharaj Ji says that you meet your true self and God is right there, so you meet Him as well!

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਤਾਗਾ ॥

jisahi Dhi-aa-i-aa paarbarahm so kal meh taagaa.

Maharaj Ji says this is a time of immense ego and pride and that is false power. One who walks this path has the true power, is very powerful. One who walks according to the advice of the Guru, is walking towards their true self, towards the Divine; their insides do not waver.  

He says those who walk this path of life, living while remaining conscious about life; realizing who is keeping me alive - it’s the air, the water, the earth. These are stages. After one is in ishq with the Divine, one realizes that it was all His play - it’s all Him; He is the air, the water, the earth but my insides were not tender and I would not have understood that earlier. Please recognize His arrangement for us, for those who follow His advice and live the human life that way.

ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨਾਗਾ ॥

saaDhoo sangat nirmalaa athsath majnaagaa.

athsath majnaagaa - There are 68 pilgrimages in the Hindu religion and it is believed that those who take a bath at those 68 pilgrimages are purified and become holy.

Maharaj Ji says that the continuous steadfast holy congregation and living according to the advice of the Guru in meditation and in gratitude, and feeling the Divine within makes us holy, makes us tender, warm, soft, loving.

Dhaarnaa: (at 36:40)

ਸੁਣ ਵੇ ਮਨਾ ਨਹੀਉਂ…… ਇੰਝ ਵੇ ਕਰੀਦਾ

sun vay manaa nahee-oN……. injh vay kareedaa

We should always express our true feelings, not fake feelings.

ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਆਵੇ….ਕੰਬਦੀ ਏ ਹਿੱਕੜੀ

sajanaaN dee yaad aavay….kamb-dee ay hikarhee

When the Divine becomes very merciful to us, when He appears forcefully at the hirdaa, we feel the trembling there.  

ਤੁਰਦੇ ਨੇ ਕੰਬ ਕੰਬ……ਸਾਹ ਵੀ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਗ਼ਲੀ

turday nay kamb kamb….saah vee ishak galee

The breath too trembles while traveling the street of ishq.

Maharaj Ji says:

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥

parabh mayraa sadaa nirmalaa man nirmal paa-i-aa jaa-ay.

My Beloved is so tender, and He comes only in tender insides.

ਵੇ ਕੋਮਲ ਜਿਹੇ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ…..ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈਦਾ

vay komal jihay sajanaaN naal…..sakhat nahee ho-ee-daa

Oh my mind, please do not remain hard while I’m expecting my tendermost Beloved.

ਸੁਣ ਵੇ ਮਨਾ ਨਹੀਉਂ…… ਇੰਝ ਵੇ ਕਰੀਦਾ

Dhaarnaa (end)

It makes me very happy that my sons and daughters make notes every day. They send letters about how notes are helping change their lives. A child of mine writes:

I did not do anything on my own, that’s what I feel sincerely. Nor did I write notes on my own. But because of His grace, and He allowed these hands to write notes, and through that, He changed me completely.

He let me realize the source of life through writing notes. I cannot say enough how powerful notes are. I just want to tell everyone - notes, notes, notes, notes, notes, notes, please write notes. It seems simple, yet everything is felt through notes. You can literally feel the life coming within when writing notes. If I feel sad, and I write notes with His grace, instant change comes within. If he allows me to flip to a page from my notebook, and read a page, or even a line, then instant happiness comes within. So instant!

What happens is that when we write notes, we put a thought on paper. That thought produces vibrations within us which brings about transformation. The same vibrations fall on the paper through our arms and fingers and deposit life in those words. Later, when we read those words, the life that is deposited in those words hits us. You can experience this yourself. When you read notes that you had written a few days ago, see how your inside feels.  

He has shown me such a magical power, how can I thank Him enough? How do I thank Him for saving this life? How to say thanks to the one who lets me feel the life within. How is it possible?

See how the writer is imploring everyone to write notes, notes, notes. This is compassion, the nature of our true self.

And now, a message to those who could not be here today, whom we remember time and again and wanted them to be here.

ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲੰਘਦੀਏ ਨੀ ਵਾਏ…..ਸਾਡੇ ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਲਾਮ ਆਖਣਾ

koloN langh-dee-ay nee vaa-ay….saaday sajanaa noo saadaa salaam aakhanaa

ਨਿੱਤ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਖੈਰਾਂ….ਵੇਲੇ ਸੁਬਹ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਆਖਣਾ

nit maNg-day haaN tayree-aaN khairaaN……vaylay subah shaam aakhanaa

We all are begging for your welfare-ness at least twice everyday, once in the morning, and once in the evening.

ਹੋਠ ਫੜਕਦੇ ਸੀ ਨਾਅ ਤੇਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ…..ਤੇ ਗਲਾ ਭਰ ਆਇਆ ਆਖਣਾ

hoth farhakday see naa tayraa laiNdi-aaN ……see galaa bhar aa-i-aa aakhanaa

Oh the wind passing by here and going to my so dear friends, please convey my message that you are always in my thoughts. And while giving this message, tell them that my lips were trembling while uttering your name; I became so excited with love that my lips started trembling and my throat felt like choking out of excitement.

Now the last line of the verse which a daughter of mine left with me while leaving Bulandpuri after the last Purab.

rab sukh rakhay….aavaaNgay purab aglay…….vaadaa eh vee…. kar karaa chalay
