2442 - Khajana Darshan June 24, 2022 – Toronto (English Translation)
ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
॥ ਜਪੁ॥
ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
The nature of our true self is God like. The longer we stay lodged in the womb of God, our nature is going to change. To observe our changing nature, our consciousness should be very sharp. It is easy to see change in others but it is difficult to notice a change within ourselves. Those who meditated for many lifetimes, went beyond Anhad Shabad, in the stage of sunn and stayed there with the Divine, they come to know the nature of the Divine. Our nature is going to change now and we should keenly observe
Now, with God’s grace, we are going to remain in His womb for longer and longer periods of time, our nature is going to change because the nature of the mind is totally different from the nature of our soul, our true self. We should now, with a very subtle consciousness, try to see the difference taking place in our nature.
When we are totally connected with the Divine, there are no thoughts, no desires there but if He wants then He puts a thought if He wants us to do something, but that thought is not in words. By staying with Him, we learn to communicate with Him. He doesn’t communicate in words; he communicates om feelings. Gradually, one learns to communicate with the divine. This hymn is from that stage:
Through dwelling for longer and longer periods of time, slowly we get learn how to converse with Him and that conversation does not take place in any language, but through feelings. It is a totally different world, and different media.

ਮਿਠ ਬੋਲੜਾ ਜੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੋਰਾ ॥
mith bolDa jee har sajjan swaami moraa
Before singing, please check if there is love in our consciousness. Singing without love is not accepted in His court – it is either singing filled with love or the pain of His separation. Let us please recognize how is our consciousness – are there any complaints or regrets in it, or just dry unconcerned, or full of love, or full of gratitude. With a loving consciousness we are going to sing this.
The vibrations of singing travel up or down; these are vibrations of love. If they are not present, then it will be monotonic singing. In this hymn, Maharaj Ji tells us that this is the nature of God, and this is your nature as well. Please become ready - consciousness full of love, humility, gratitude.
ਮਿਠ ਬੋਲੜਾ ਜੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੋਰਾ ॥
mith bolDa jee har sajjan swaami mora
The lord of the universe is my most intimate friend but at the same time He is my lord too. He becomes a friend but at the same time we have deep respect, regard, honor, and a consciousness that sings His glories. The more intimate friend He becomes, the more humility we will have, and more fear; we would be more fearful of Him that lest He becomes unhappy with me.
If you have ishq with someone and you are talking about them or talking to them, there is an enjoyment, there are waves that arise within us as we are talking; it cannot be monotonic , only a business conversation can be monotonic. Consciousness filled with love cannot sing in a monotone.
ਮਿਠ ਬੋਲੜਾ ਜੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੋਰਾ ॥
mith bolDa jee har sajjan swaami mora
We are telling someone, and it feels so good to tell someone that my Beloved is like this. Like a mother who is talking about the qualities of her child to someone – there is a joy about it! If there is no masti (losing oneself) then ishq is not present.
Remember words and music affect our consciousness. When we sing, the vibrations that arise within us is music. If we sing correctly, the music will have a strong impact on our consciousness but if the strings are too loose or too tight, then it won’t impact as much.
ਹਉ ਸੰਮਲਿ ਥਕੀ ਜੀ ਓਹੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬੋਲੈ ਕਉਰਾ ॥
hau sammal thakee jee oh kadey naa bolai kauDa
All day today I was going back and trying to remember, did He ever use any harsh words for me. I became tired of remembering if He spoke any harsh words; no he never did! He never speaks bitter words. There are no bitter words in His dictionary; in His dictionary is ishq, humility, compassion, mercy.
This hymn is from our true self to the world. Our true self tells the world that this is how my lord friend is.
ਹਉ ਸੰਮਲਿ ਥਕੀ ਜੀ ਓਹੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬੋਲੈ ਕਉਰਾ ॥
hau sammal thakee jee oh kadey naa bolai kauDa
ਕਉੜਾ ਬੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਵਾਨੈ ਅਉਗਣੁ ਕੋ ਨ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥
kauDa bol naa jaanai pooran bhagwaaney
My lord, my true intimate friend is perfect. He doesn’t even know any bitter words! He has never heard of bitter words, nor has He spoken any bitter words. He speaks ever so sweetly.
kaura bol naa jaanai pooran bhagwaanai augan ko naa chitarey
He does not consider any of my faults. Please understand – this is about the true self; the true self has no faults. But here Maharaj Ji is saying that sometimes it happens, our true self may say some strong words to someone for their betterment, but God does not mind that. This can be misunderstood because sometimes we do this out of the mind as well, but that is completely different. Anything that is said by the true self, even strong words, are not bitter. Until we become our true self, when God is upset with us, He becomes quiet and turns His face away but doesn’t say anything bitter. How does He become quiet ? God is operating within us, vibrating at a very fast pace. He creates a vibration and in an extremely short interval of time, stops it, and then starts it again. If we hear the celestial music carefully, it is not like saaaaaaN, rather it is like saaN, saaN, saaN, saaN. Let us look closely. The celestial music is not being played continuously. It is on and off at an incredible speed. The speed is so incredibly fast that it is difficult to recognize the gap between on and off. God is operating within us continuously, sometimes as the river of ishq rising from the front, or a lightning of love rising along the spine, sometimes rotating, dancing; all of these vibrations are not happening continuously, but on and off at an incredibly fast speed. When we sit at night, let’s try to see this.
When anger, greed, lust, pride, or attachment comes in our consciousness, God becomes quiet and turns His face away. As soon as any of the five things – lust, anger, greed, ego, emotional attachment happens, God quietens up; He stops dancing, He stops singing. That is His sign of displeasure. If we are engaged in a futile conversation, we won’t feel Him. Notice if anger is coming into our consciousness, we won’t hear the celestial music. He teaches us how to stay with Him. There are conditions.
ਅੱਜ ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਣ ਬਹਿ ਗਈ ਮਹੈ। ਰਾ ਪੇਕੀਂ ਆਉਣਾ
aj fer maiN vekhaN bai gayee mera pekiN aauNa
What is rebirth ? The consciousness that had become entangled in the world, Maharaj Ji brings that consciousness back home by making His presence felt within us, by making us hear the celestial music.
ਅੱਜ ਫਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਣ ਬਹਿ ਗਈ ਮਹੈ। ਰਾ ਪੇਕੀਂ ਆਉਣਾ
aj fer maiN vekhaN bai gayee mera pekiN aauNa
Today again I sat down and thought about how he brought me back to my parents home; I was lost in the world.
ਕਿੰਝ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਕੀਕਣ ਸੁਣਨਾ
kinj pehlaaN tooN samjhaayaa see keekaN suNnaa
In the first place You taught me how to hear You. We can only hear You and not listen. Hearing happens through the heart and not these ears.
ਫਿਰ ਨਿੱਤ ਸੁਨੇਹੜੇ ਤੇਰਿਆਂ ਸੰਗ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ
fer nit sunehDay teryaaN sang saadey turnaa
And then, the messages you were sending me through your letters, your hymns, those messages would stay with me throughout the day.
ਤੇ ਜੱਗ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਰੀਂ ਆਣਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਫੜਾਉਨਾ
te jag to choriN aaNkay tooN hath faDaunaa
And then, away from the world, Your coming within this mansion and making me stay with You and feel Your presence.
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਸਲੀ ਆਪਾ ਦੇਣ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੇਕੀਂ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ
mainu aslee aapa den noo mainu pekiN li-au-naa
Then, as I started feeling your presence - so beautiful, so loving, so peace giving, so compassionate, I started staying with you longer and longer, this is how You brought me back to my parent’s home. You said that the story has gone wrong, you have to come back, I will give you another birth to make the story right.
