ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Dhaarnaa:
ਦੱਸਿਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਜੀ, ਕਵਨ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ
dasi-o mayray raam jee, kavan hai eh jagaah
Oh, my beloved God, please tell me which is this place!
ਇਹ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਕਾਹਦੀ ਆਂਵਦੀ, ਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਚ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਕੇਹਾ
eh suganDhee kahdee aaNvadee, tay havaa ch nashaa kayhaa
Such a peace, love filled fragrance and the air seems intoxicated - what has intoxicated the air ?
ਇਹ ਚਿੱਟਾ ਕੋਈ ਬਾਗ ਜੀ, ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗ ਜਿਹਾ
eh chitaa ko-ee baag jee, vich vich rang jihaa
To me it seems like a garden of white flowers, and other colors are sprinkled here and there.
ਕਿ ਬਣਦੀਆਂ ਬਣਦੀਆਂ ਜੋਤੀਆਂ, ਰਹੀਆਂ ਅਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਨਾ
ki bandee-aaN bandee-aaN jotee-aaN, rahee-aaN apnaa janam manaa
Through the process of rebirth we are going to realize our true selves, which is the Divine light. He calls the light in His creation jotee, and His light He calls it jot.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਰਲੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਨੁ ਥੀਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
jotee jot ralee sampooran thee-aa raam.
Are these the souls who are in the process of realizing the truth, celebrating this life because in this very life their affair is going to be completed? It is a question.
ਤੇ ਜਾਂ ਰੱਬ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਦਾ, ਚਾਨਣ ਡੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ
tay jaaN rab sohnay dee jot daa, chaanan dul gi-aa
We were visiting the crucial roles of the Guru and the holy congregation in the process of rebirth. We saw that the Guru is not a person, Guru is a multidimensional phenomenon, He is a miracle with merciful formless forms. So far we have seen that the Guru is ishq, the Guru destroys the heavy fort of illusions, and makes us meet the divine. Guru is a miracle; He makes the miracles happen in the sangat and the biggest miracle in this universe is to make sombody unite with God. There is no bigger miracle than this and Guru makes this miracle happen in the sangat.
Dhan uh pareet charan sang laagee.
Maharaj Ji says that to become reborn is the miracle which is created by ishq.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਚਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ
naanak jaachak har har naam maaNgai
Maharaj Ji says that the Divine is operating through the Guru. He says, become the most humble beggar before the Divine and beg Him that please be merciful to me and reveal yourself in my house.
mastak aan Dhari-o parabh paagee.
Maharaj Ji says beg Him like you have no one else except God and then He shall appear within you. Then most respectfully and with gratitude place your forehead at God’s feet.
When we bow down to Guru Granth Sahib Ji, we place our forehead on the ground with the understanding that His feet are in the ground. But now, Maharaj Ji says that He is revealing Himself to you at your forehead, so come there and place your forehead at God’s feet, which means bring all that humble consciousness to feel Him and then stay there.
Let us please feel Him at the forehead with a very humble consciousness. Please just feel Him and don’t sing. He is going to pull us within so please cooperate with Him and don’t resist.

Feel Him dancing there.
Ji, we witness that when we are in the sangat, we reach a certain state of our consciousness that is peaceful, relaxed; no worries, just relaxed, no tension. But as soon as we get up and leave the sangat, that state of our consciousness disappears. Why? What happened? What is the reason behind this? Why did that state of our consciousness disappear?
There are two things to be understood. First of all, it will disappear only if we have not yet learnt how to remain on the high plateaus of our being, how not to fall down. Until all of our consciousness rises above the heart, it will change when we leave sangat until we know how to keep the consciousness above the heart. It starts to remain there on its own but first we have to find the secret behind it. What happens is that in the sangat, we hear the Guru’s utterances, we have immense faith in the Guru, there is no room for doubt. When we do not doubt, our consciousness is relaxed. There is nothing to worry about. All we do is hear - suniai. After a long long time, we will see the importance of direct hearing (suniai), almost when our ego is about to finish. It requires a lot of power to hear, speaking does not require much effort. We are relaxed and Maharaj Ji holds our hand and we follow Him. He paints a picture for us and we see it, just like a little child. In that relaxed state of consciousness our consciousness starts moving with the Guru, it starts following the Guru, it starts seeing the paintings the Guru paints for us. In Gurbani, pretty much every Shabad Maharaj Ji shows us a painting. For example:
ਇਕਿ ਸਦਾ ਇਕਤੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
ik sadaa iktai rang raheh tin kai ha-o sad balihaarai jaa-o.
He paints a picture that those who remain imbued in His ishq, I am forever a sacrifice unto them; I surround them on all sides and protect them.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਇ ॥
tan man Dhan arpee tin ka-o niv niv laaga-o paa-ay.

ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਐ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਇ ॥
tin mili-aa man santokhee-ai tarisnaa bhukh sabh jaa-ay.
Maharaj Ji says that by meeting them, we become totally peaceful and content and no desire is left behind.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੀਏ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak naam ratay sukhee-ay sadaa sachay si-o liv laa-ay. ||2||
Those who remain intoxicated and imbued in His ishq, they remain ever peaceful and content. They remain in a meditative state - liv. This state develops gradually by staying longer and longer in liv - we remember Him more times during the day, a line of Gurbani comes into the consciousness more times than before, a thought pierces our consciousness more frequently.
When we are relaxed here in sangat and hear the Guru’s utterances, the power in His utterances affects us. Our consciousness drinks that sound of Gurbani and we become peaceful. Hearing is drinking! Then, a stage comes that our inside becomes so peaceful that when we sit in the presence of the Guru, even if He doesn’t say anything, His presence, His being is there, and we are calm enough to drink Him.

Dear Baba Ji, listening to Khajana Darshan has shocked me. Thanks to Maharaj Ji for breaking my egoistic self, such an illusion I was living in.
Please note this, the day we become silent within, every word of Gurbani will shock us. Until we are shocked by Gurbani and every word pierces us, temporarily it will feel like our ego is gone but that state of consciousness is temporary. Initially we will have glimpses of that state but it is not permanent. Maharaj Ji worked very hard on you for you to feel shocked by Gurbani. It is not permanent yet; He gave you a glimpse through the window that this state exists. Gradually, the window is going to turn into a door and then the walls and ceilings are going to disappear - the ego will be demolished. It is the ego which drowns us. It doesn’t care if life is wasted but it won’t bow down.
Dhaarnaa:
ਵੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਜਿਊਣਾ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਿਆ
vay mainoo tayray baajhoN jioona gunaah lagi-aa
To live without the holy congregation is to live a pitiful life; living life out of the mind, which is a poor entity.
ਵੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੀੰਡ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਵੱਜਦਾ
vay tayraa pind takhat hazaaraa vajdaa
Your village is known as the village where the divine dwells.
ਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਖੇੜਿਆਂ ਦਾ, ਦੀਵਾ ਜੱਗਦਾ
tay saaday pind khayrhi-aaN daa, deevaa jagdaa
And in my village, khayrhay - those who separate you from the divine, it is their control.
ਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਜੇਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਵੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੱਥਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ
tay saaday, jayri-aaN daa deevay naal, mathaa lagi-aa
It felt like a match with my patience on one side and kherhay on the other side - it was to be seen who would win.
ਜਾਵੇ ਉੱਜੜ ਨਾ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਿਤੇ
jaavay ujarh naa dunee-aa mayree kitay
I was worried lest my world be destroyed.
ਯਾਦ ਤੇਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨੇ ਰਾਤੀਂ ਫੜ ਛੱਡਿਆ
yaad tayree noo main dinay raatee farh chadi-aa
So I held on tightly to your remembrance day and night.
