ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Consciousness at the heart area, please.
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ॥
tis gur ka-o ha-o vaari-aa jin har kee har kathaa sunaa-ee.
The Guru tells us what the true story is. He tells us you are not this mind, you are something very exalted. The Divine dwells everywhere, He dwells within you, and how you are going to meet your true self. I’m a sacrifice to the Guru who told me the true story, the truth about me, the truth about this universe, the truth about God.
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ॥

ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
tis gur ka-o sad balihaarnai jin har sayvaa banat banaa-ee.
I’m forever and ever sacrifice unto that Guru who has devised ishq for the rebirth - rebirth to be the true self!
Please know that the time will never come when we would see our true self and have a a conversation with her. It only out of love that we say things like tayray birho day sap saanoo daNgday rahay (the serpents of the pain of separation kept biting me); we are not going to ever see the true self separate from us or talk to our true self; we are becoming the true self! It’s like we were this pure clear water, and a lot of things got mixed in that water - dirt, inks of different colors, so many different impurities, and that is our mind. Now God is removing all those impurities from our consciousness and what would be left behind is pure water, pure consciousness. So, we are with our true self. We are not going to have a sight of it separately from us, we are becoming the true self every day. But out of love and innocence, we say things like, when I meet you, I am going to be upset - it is just a way of expressing love.
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
tis gur ka-o sad balihaarnai jin har sayvaa banat banaa-ee.
By serving the Guru, by serving the Divine, by doing ishq, He transforms us to the true self, the way He originally made us.
We are witnessing the faces of the Satguru. One of the faces of the Guru is that He has an infinite compassion for God’s creation. Yesterday we were talking about how there were others who realized their true self, had knowledge of the truth, but that was not sufficient to be chosen as the Guru. It takes many lifetimes of meditation to develop compassion for others. Only God knows how many lifetimes of meditation it took for the Guru’s inside to become like that - He didn’t just want freedom for himself, it was for others, He did everything for others. Baba Buddha Ji was asked to anoint five Gurus. When the fifth Guru Ji’s wife, Mata Ganga Ji, asked for the blessing of a child, Guru Arjan Dev Ji sent her to Baba Buddha Ji. We can see that Baba Buddha Ji was very respected and their state of consciousness was very high, but what made the Guru was this thing - immense compassion for others resulting from lifetimes upon lifetimes of meditation. The Guru had to come down to the streets of the world. Even now, the courts of the so pure and pious Guru Granth Sahib Ji are set up in the streets of the world. The Guru has to come down from that magnificent divinely royal space because He has so much compassion. He comes down into the streets of the world because people are living there. If He shouts from the peaks, nobody would hear Him, that voice cannot reach the people.
His palace is in our head but He comes all the way down to the blind well, at the root point, to free us. Why ? Because of His compassion. The Guru comes down because of the compassion in Him and He relates to the people. This is so significant that the Guru is a supreme being, but He feels the pain of the world, and even though He dwells in the high mansion, out of compassion He comes down to the blind well and makes us feel Him at the root point. From there He takes our consciousness upwards, He pulls us up to the hirdaa (the heart area), and he does Ishq with us there; that deep, pure, profound ishq transforms our consciousness, and totally gives us a new birth, and we are reborn out of the Guru.
Maharaj Ji says:
ਸਭ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੁ ॥
sabh dinas rain gun uchrai har har har ur liv laag.
Maharaj Ji says remember me all the time, become totally focused in remembering me at your heart, and I will come down at your hirdaa and meet you there, and you would come to know what ishq is.
ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਹਰਿਆ ਬਾਗੁ ॥
sabh tan man hari-aa ho-i-aa man khirhi-aa hari-aa baag.
He says your inside is going to become alive, you would feel me, and your consciousness will blossom like a lush green garden, with the arrival of joy and jingles of laughter. Please feel Him at the heart. Feel His intense presence at the hirdaa.
ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਹਰਿਆ ਬਾਗੁ ॥
sabh tan man hari-aa ho-i-aa man khirhi-aa hari-aa baag.
Dhaarnaa:
ਨਾਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ, ਵੇ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਜਣਾ
naal a-oun tayray ishq havaavaaN, vay dil baageeN aa sajnaa
ਦੀਦ ਬਾਝ ਨਾ ਇਬਾਦਤ ਹੋਵੇ
deed baajh naa ibaadat hovay
If you reveal yourself to me then I can worship you because ishq is worship. So, please reveal yourself to me so that I can worship you.
ਦੀਦ ਬਾਝ ਨਾ ਇਬਾਦਤ ਹੋਵੇ

ਸਫ਼ਰ ਸਾਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ
safar saahaaN daa hor naa hovay
Even my breath stops sometimes when I sigh. Even my breathing does not flow steadily, rhythmically, because of this pain. I don’t want to live in this state of separation from You.
ਰਹਿਣ ਵਿਹੰਦੇ ਏ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ
rahan vihanday ay saaree-aaN dishaavaaN
When my breath goes within, it keeps looking all around - is He here ? is He here ?
ਚਰਨੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵਾਂ, ਵੇ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਜਣਾ
charneeN tayray maiN saahaaN noo charhaavaaN, vay dil baageeN aa sajnaa
Please reveal Yourself so I may offer every breath of mine at Your lotus feet.
ਨਾਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ, ਵੇ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਜਣਾ
naal a-oun tayray ishq havaavaaN, vay dil baageeN aa sajnaa
Please stay at the heart area.
ਤੇਰੈ ਭਰੋਸੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੈ ਲਾਡ ਲਡਾਇਆ ॥
tayrai bharosai pi-aaray mai laad ladaa-i-aa.
ਪਿਤਾ ਹਉ ਜਾਨਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਵਨ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥
pitaa ha-o jaan-o naahee tayree kavan jugtaa.
Oh, my Father, I don’t know how You make us free of such a deep-rooted aliment as the ego. Our ego whom we have been nourishing over infinite lifetimes; the ego which is the cause of all misery, because of the bondages, because of the shackles, and You make us free of that! I don’t know how you do it, my Beloved Father.
See how the Divine manifests as the Guru, talks to us as a father, and tells us that you should be amazed at this. Our mind is foolish, it is asleep and does not recognize the beauty, the amazement in anything.
ਬੰਧਨ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਖੈ ਮਮਤਾ ॥
banDhan mukat santahu mayree raakhai mamtaa
Maharaj Ji says that the Divine frees us from all the entanglements. The attachments - with others, with children, with siblings, with parents, with spouse, He breaks those tough shackles and frees us. Please don’t be scared. We have not experienced the consciousness that is free of attachments, when it loves everyone the same.
ਬੰਧਨ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਰਾਖੈ ਮਮਤਾ ॥
banDhan mukat santahu mayree raakhai mamtaa
O’ saints, look the Guru makes us liberated from all types of attachments - attachments with people, properties, things, thoughts, places.
O’ saints, how wonderful it is that the Guru destroys all your shackles makes your consciousness free of any possessions. He frees us from all those things which have taken possession of our consciousness.

Revisiting the lines of the dhaarnaa that we sang earlier:
ਵੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ, ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਜਿਊਣਾ, ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਿਆ
vay mainoo, tayray baajhoN ji-oona, gunaah lagi-aa
ਰੱਬ, ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੇਰਾ, ਮੇਲ ਜੇ ਕਰਾਵੇ
rab ik vaaree tayraa mayraa mayl jay karaavay
ਵੀਰਾਨ, ਅੰਦਰਾਂ ਚ’ ਹਾਸਿਆਂ ਦਾ, ਬਾਗ ਖਿੜ ਜਾਵੇ
veeraan, andraaN ch haasi-aaN daa, baag khirh jaavay
If, by becoming merciful, God makes me meet you, then my insides which have become totally dry, the garden of laughter will blossom there.
ਤੇ ਦਿੱਸੂ, ਮੂੰਹ ਤੇ ਮੁਹੱਬਤਾਂ ਦਾ, ਮੇਲਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ
tay disoo, mooNh tay muhabataaN daa, maylaa lagi-aa
And my face will feel like a celebration of love!
Then we sang that along with the laughter, there will be tears as well.
ਕਿੱਡੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਣੇ ਉਹ ਪਲ ਸਜਣਾ ਵੇ
kiday nirmal honay oh pal sajnaa vay
ਬੁੱਲੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਹਾਸਾ ਨੈਣੀ ਹੰਝੂ ਸੱਜਿਆ
bulee-aaN tay haasaa nainee hanjhoo saji-aa
How pure those moments would be, that there would be laughter on my lips and tears in my eyes.

ਹਾਸੇ ਆਉਣੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ, ਹੰਝੂ ਵੀ ਵੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ
haasay aa-ounay khushee-aaN day hanjhoo vee vay khushee-aaN day
ਦੋਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਆਉਣਾ, ਜੌੜੇ ਭਾਈ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਵੇ
dovaaN nay ikathay aa-ounaa, jaurhay bhaa-ee ban kay vay
It’s about after Covid, when we would meet I would have laughter on my lips and tears in my eyes. Laughter and tears both are going to appear as twin brothers.
ਹਾਸੇ ਹੰਝੂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਵੇ, ਬਿਨਾ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਆ ਜਾਣੇ
haasay hanjhoo tainoo vee vay, binaa puchhay aa jaanay
ਸਾਡਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਓਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ
saadi-aaN daa oHnaa noo jaaN pataa lagi-aa
When your insides would see my laughter and tears, then without asking you, your tears and laughter are going to appear as well.
ਵੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ, ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਜਿਊਣਾ, ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਿਆ
vay mainoo, tayray baajhoN ji-oona, gunaah lagi-aa

There is a letter from sangat.
Baba Ji, with Maharaj Ji’s grace, I keep hearing the Anhad Shabad and for the last 8-10 months, I can also hear my heartbeat in the ears. The Anhad Shabad is heard very loudly now.
The writer says that with God’s great grace, I keep hearing the Celestial Music and that music is becoming louder and louder. I also hear my heartbeat in my ears.
Sometimes the body parts start throbbing vigorously.
Since consciousness has to rise upward, and consciousness is present in the entire body, when God opens a blockage, that body part starts throbbing.
The whole body feels like it is intoxicated. Many times I feel a uniquely sweet fragrance within me and I feel immense bliss. Since the last few days, it feels like the body becomes numb, eyes start watering, and even the mouth is filled with water and a state of bairaag (detachment). I feel like staying by myself.
That is Amrit.
This is a great blessing, wanting to stay by yourself is a sign that rebirth is happening. Our soul does not need anything, she has a lot to give. Now she is going to stay by herself, see her treasures, and eventually share with others. We should keep witnessing our insides for the feeling to stay by ourselves. It is important that we reach that state. Then this state becomes permanent, for which Maharaj Ji says:
ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧਿ ਸਭ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਾਗ ਦੋਖ ਤੇ ਨਿਆਰੋ ॥
sabh kai maDh sabh hoo tay baahar raag dokh tay ni-aaro.
He says that even if you are in the middle of the world, you will still see that you are alone.
I am so grateful to God for His mercy, His blessings. Now the only begging I have before the Divine is that may He become graceful to everyone and make them realize their true self.
Please see how there is compassion in our soul.
Our true self dwells within, that is her abode, her village.
Dhaarnaa:
ਨੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ, ਕਦੇ ਪੈਣ ਨਾ ਤਰਕਾਲਾਂ
nee tayray pind vaalay raahaaN tay, kaday pain naa tarkaalaaN
May the path to the village of our true self, the street of ishq, always remain illuminated with the Divine light. May the night never fall on that path.
ਤੇ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣ ਭਰੀਆਂ, ਸੋਚਾਂ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਡਾਲਾਂ
tay fullaN naal rahan bharee-aaN , sochaaN mayree-aaN dee-aaN daalaaN
The branches of my consciousness remain full with beautiful flowers, beautiful thoughts.
The writer of the letter says that now the only thing I ask from God is that may everyone be blessed with their true self. How beautiful are these thoughts!
