2497 - Khajana Darshan August 27, 2022 – Surrey (English Translation)

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

॥ ਜਪੁ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥  ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥

Please focus at the heart area.

ਮੋਹਿ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਤੁਮ ਨੀਰ ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਸਰੈ ॥

mohi machhulee tum neer tujh bin ki-o sarai.

I’m a fish and you are the water. How come I survive without you?

ਮੋਹਿ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਬੂੰਦ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਉ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਰੈ ॥

mohi chaatrik tumH boond taripta-o mukh parai.

I’m a rainbird, and you are the rain. When the rain falls into my mouth, I become totally content.

ਮੁਖਿ ਪਰੈ ਹਰੈ ਪਿਆਸ ਮੇਰੀ ਜੀਅ ਹੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤੇ ॥

mukh parai harai pi-aas mayree jee-a hee-aa paranpatay.

My thirst is quenched when the rain drop falls in my mouth.

ਜੀਅ ਹੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤੇ

jee-a hee-aa paranpatay.

You are with my true self; you are in my hirdaa (heart area). And you are in my breath; you make the breath flow in and flow out. When we feel joy within, that is the proof that we are in touch with our true-self.

ਲਾਡਿਲੇ ਲਾਡ ਲਡਾਇ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਮਿਲੁ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਹੋਇ ਗਤੇ ॥

laadilay laad ladaa-ay sabh meh mil hamaaree ho-ay gatay

My beloved is dwelling in each and everyone, everywhere, and He touches me and caresses me so lovingly and tenderly.

He caresses our consciousness; if there are thoughts in the consciousness then He cannot do it, so let’s make the entire consciousness available for singing, hearing, and feeling.

Through meeting with my Beloved, I am given rebirth out of the Guru, and my new me, the true me is free of any possessions.

When we hear the Anhad Shabad, even if we don’t feel the Divine Light, but we remember the Divine, we are lodged in His womb.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪਇਅੰਪੈ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਨੀਰੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ॥

naanak pa-i-ampai pari-a sang maylee machhulee neer na veesrai

Maharaj ji says that I beg to the Divine, that may I never forget Him, that He remains united with me all the time, and I am given rebirth.

We read a portion of a letter yesterday. Let’s read the remainder today. The writer says:

I was handcuffed by the possessiveness of others. And He gave me courage. He turned difficult breaths into songs with ankle bells. Now everybody seems like mine. Even those whom I used to think are strangers, they seem mine to me now. May I live and die at your doorstep, that is my only begging, my only desire.

Dhaarnaa:

ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਏ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿਹੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ

zindagee lagadee ay aapnee jihee jadoN daa saanoo tooN mili-aa

Oh, my Beloved Guru, Guru Granth Sahib Ji, ever since you met us, our life seems very beautiful, very intimate.

ਓਸ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਜਿਹੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ

os dunee-aa toN vakhree jihee jadoN daa saanoo tooN mili-aa

With your grace, our life is so different from the usual worldly lives.

ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉੱਠਦੀ ਹੈ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ, ਮਿੱਠੇ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਂਦੀ ਏ

savayray uthadee hai naal mayray mithay nainaaN naal vayNdee ay

She wakes up with me and looks at me with sweet eyes.

ਫਿਰ ਸੱਜਣਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਾਨੁੰ ਵੁਜੂ ਉਹ ਕਰਾਉਂਦੀ ਏ

fir sajanaa dee yaad vaalaa saanoo vujoo oh karaundee ay

vujoo means to wash hands, feet, eyes.

And the first thing she does is make my mouth pure by reminding my senses about our Beloved. She tells my consciousness, remember the Beloved. She asks the tongue to recite His name, ears to listen to His name, and the eyes to see Him.

ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ, ਉਹ ਖੇਡਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਏ

tay din saaraa hee naal mayray, oh khaydadee rahandee ay

Then during the day she keeps playing with me.

There is a letter in which the writer talks about how life is playing with this soul.

Baba Ji, a year ago I don’t know what happened. I would keep feeling all the time that some power keeps revolving about the root point, in the anti clockwise direction. Very fast vibrations are happening within me all the time, even through the night. Sometimes I would see a very bright light, so bright that I keep closing my eyes. The Divine light stays with me all night. 

See how life is playing with this soul.

ਕਦੇ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਚ ਆ ਬਹਿੰਦੀ, ਜਾਵੇ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ

kaday akhee-aaN ch aa bahandee, jaavay takhat hazaaraa mili-aa

And I feel like I have reached Takhat Hazaara (the palace of my beloved).

ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਏ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿਹੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ

zindagee lagadee ay aapnee jihee jadoN daa saanoo tooN mili-aa

(Dhaarnaa - End)

That egoistic I, that I am this, these things, these people are mine, that was an illusion. Maharaj Ji says:

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਾ ॥

man tan seetal gur charnee laagaa.

gur charnee laagaa also means to be lodged in the Guru’s womb. What happens when we are the Guru’s womb ?

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥

antar bharam ga-i-aa bha-o bhaagaa.

That illusion is gone! Because of the illusion you remained scared, insecure, you could not be nirbhau (fearless). But now you are nirbhau!

ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਬੋਲਾਇਦਾ ॥

sadaa anand sachay gun gaavahi sach banee bolaa-idaa

Maharaj Ji says that notice now you feel so much joy in singing My utterances. You are not singing alone, I am making you sing! See how subtle everything is in the land of the true self.

There is another letter from sangat in which the writer says:

Baba Ji, a year ago I don’t know what happened. There is a hospital on the way to Darbar Sahib. Every time I would pass by the hospital, I would start crying and I would start begging for everyone’s wellness. I would bow my head, it was not in my control, I don’t know if it was right or wrong, but I feel Maharaj ji was making it happen. Every time I am about to eat, naturally a prayer arises that may no one ever die hungry, may everyone have enough food to eat, and tears start flowing. It is heart wrenching.

Dear child, you don’t do this. God works through our true self. Once we become the true self, He is going to operate through us as He pleases. This is a glimpse.

ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਏ ਆਪੇ ॥

aapay karay karaa-ay aapay.

Sometimes I feel like screaming loudly, God is, God is! Sing His glories, sing His glories!

This is God making you do it! How blessed you are! You pray for all of us. It is our prayer that may He bless you even more.

Ji, ups and downs are going to come in life. Please stay connected with Maharaj Ji, it makes it easy to navigate the downs as well. Maintain peace in your homes at every cost, an environment of peace and love. Teach children to be big hearted and pure.

Sometimes life is bitter but those who have the art know that there is something sweet hidden behind even the most bitter thing. A bitter gourd is bitter, if you keep chewing it until it becomes water, at some point it will taste sweet. Keep sweets or sugar in your mouth for a long time, at some point it will taste bitter, because whatever God made is complete - it has both sides.

It is my prayer that may God never give you any sorrows, may He give it to me.

Dhaarnaa:

ਨੀ ਮਾਏ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀ ਕਰਦਾ, ਗ਼ਮ ਕੁੱਲ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੀ ਜਾਵਾਂ

nee maa-ay mayraa jee kardaa, gam kul sakhee-aaN day pee jaavaaN

Sometimes if there is negativity in the house, remember behind it there is a beautiful garden.

ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਹ ਮੇਰੀ, ਮਾਏ ਮੇਰੀਏ ਨੀ, ਨਾ ਆਖੀਂ ਉਜਾੜੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਇੱਤਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ

tainoo souNh mayree, maa-ay mayree-ay nee, naa aakheeN ujaarheeN nahee itar hunday

Oh my mother, please never say that there cannot be any fragrances in the deserts.

ਕੌੜੇ ਫ਼ੁੱਲਾਂ ਚੋਂ ਇਤਰ ਉਹ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦੇ, ਸੁੱਚੀ ਜਾਤ ਦੇ ਜੋ ਨੀ ਭੌਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ

kourhay fullaaN choN itar oh labh lainday, suchee jaat day jo nee bhaur hunday

Those bumblebees who have ishq in them, they find sweet fragrances even in the bitter flowers.

Maharaj Ji says:

ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੇ ॥

naanak har jas har jan kee sangat deejai jin satgur har parabh jaataa hay

One should ask for sangat, and the blessing to sing His praises. Both of these things help us in the process of rebirth. Please do not leave sangat. Our affairs are never going to be finished, life will finish. We must recognize the preciousness of life.

Dhaarnaa:

ਉੱਚੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਦਾ, ਵੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਰੱਖੀਂ

uchee sohnee shakhasee-at daa, vay saaHmanay darish rakheeN

Keep a picture in front of you and in your consciousness all the time, of who you want to be - a very noble, beautiful being.

ਇਸ਼ਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਬਲ ਬਣੀਂ, ਤੇ ਜੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਰੱਖੀਂ

ishq karan day kaabal baneeN, tay jag naal saanjh rakheeN

Let us please become capable of becoming ishq rather than attachment, and then help others.

ਜੱਗ ਸਾਰਾ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਏ, ਤੂੰ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ ਰੱਖੀਂ

jag saaraa hee tayraa ay, tooN diloN hamdardee rakheeN

At some point, we will start seeing that this whole world is mine. Let’s start visualizing that. The whole world is yours and you belong to the whole world.

ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿੱਧਰ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤੂੰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੀਂ

dunee-aa bhaavayN kiDhar jaavay, tooN darish utay nazar rakheeN

Remain awake. The world can make us falter on this path. Help them, share with them about this path, but then it is up to one’s own karma. Remain focused on your aim.

ਲੈਣ ਆਊਂਗੀ ਧੂੜ ਤੇਰੀ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਾਂਭ ਰੱਖੀਂ

lain aa-ooNgee Dhoorh tayree, tooN saaday la-ee oh saambh rakheeN

I will come begging for the dust of your feet. Please save it for me.
