2505 - Khajana Darshan October 11, 2022 – Australia (English Translation)

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
॥ ਜਪੁ॥
ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Let us please become fully focused in between the eyebrows, at the root of the nose.
hukam jinaa no manaa-i-aa.
Our true self, our soul remains permanently attached with God, and because of its permanent connection with God, it cannot do anything on its own. So, our soul, our true self, is always under the will of God.
We are a wave in the ocean and the wave is connected to the larger ocean, which is the true self. The true self stays in Hukam l and since it is connected to God, it cannot separate itself and do anything on its own.
hukam jinaa no manaa-i-aa.
tin antar sabad vasaa-i-aa.
When we continuously feel the presence of the Divine within us, that means we stay connected with the Divine all the time, and the thing that stays connected with the Divine all the time is our true self.
Let us please have our insides released from the mind. And let the insides sing.
ਸਹੀਆ ਸੇ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ ਸਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
sahee-aa say sohaaganee jin sah naal pi-aar jee-o
Maharaj Ji says when we focus our consciousness (dhiaan), then notice what is in that consciousness - is there any bitterness, is there any doubt that whether I am going to feel something or not, any complaints or grudges ? Such a consciousness cannot feel the Divine. A consciousness filled with love and humility is necessary to feel the Divine. We should become very aware and watch whether our consciousness is humble, is it full of love?
If we are having thoughts we cannot feel the state of our consciousness. Those who understand that as soon as a thought is present it robs them; the ones with that realization change instantly and are able to focus immediately. Our consciousness remains free of thoughts as long as we keep feeling the Divine.
ਸਹੀਆ ਸੇ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨ ਸਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
sahee-aa say sohaaganee jin sah naal pi-aar jee-o
Maharaj ji says those who are in ishq with God, they become His wedded soul-brides, and that is our true self. It can never be away from God, not even for an instant.
Let the sound please hit us at the forehead.
Dhaarnaa:
ਆ ਬੈਠ ਨੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਕੋਲ ਮੇਰੇ, ਤੇ ਗੱਲ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਰੀਏ ਦੋ ਘੜੀਆਂ
aa baith nee sakhee-ay kol mayray, tay gal dilaaN dee karee-ay do gharhee-aaN
ਬਾਝ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਹੋਂਦ ਵੀਰਾਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ, ਹੋਣ ਗੁੱਡੀਆਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਚੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ
baajh ishq day hoNd veeraan rahindee, hon gudee-aaN bhaavayN akaash charhee-aaN
If our consciousness is not imbued with His love then we are the mind; useless thoughts, useless talk!
If we have not realized the true self then what we are is the mind, and mind is barren; a desert; no flower ever blossoms in the mind; there is no fragrance, no oasis, no shade to comfort others.
ਜੁਗ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ ਅੰਦਰਾਂ ਸੜਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਆ ਮੁਹੱਬਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੰਝੀਏ ਦੋ ਘੜੀਆਂ
jug beet ga-ay andaraaN sarhadi-aaN noo, aa muhabataaN naal sinjhee-ay do gharhee-aaN
It has been ages since our insides have been burning with lust, with anger, with greed, with ego, all that. Let us sit, irrigate our insides with Divine love, and become peaceful.
Yesterday, we talked about how Maharaj Ji answered the Siddhas in the Third Pauri of Japji Sahib, when they asked Him to prove that there is God. Maharaj Ji answers beautifully and says that some are very grateful to God that He blessed them with a human body and a human consciousness.
gaavai ko saaj karay tan khayh
gaavai ko jee-a lai fir dayh
It is amazing that the Divine creates such a beautiful human body. And then reduces it to dust. When He takes our souls out of the body, the body dies. Then He creates another new body for the soul.
gaavai ko jaapai disai door
gaavai ko vaykhai haadraa hadoor
Some people feel He is far, some feel He is very near. Why is it like that ? Then why can’t some people feel the Divine. It is about karma.
ਕਰਮੀ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਕੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
karmee aapo aapnee kay nayrhai kay door
We have been stuck at suniai in Japji Sahib because we cannot move forward yet. After suniai, it is about manai.
mannai surat hovai man buDh.
Manai happens after rebirth, and now the mind and consciousness has become bibek budh, that dwells with the Divine. That true self knows everything about the inside! But we can’t touch that yet, first we have to hear (suniai) for the rebirth to happen.
Stay at the forehead, please. What does it mean to meet the Satguru ? Please listen carefully.
satgur mili-aa jaanee-ai.
jit mili-ai naam vakhaanee-ai.
Maharaj ji says that when we have the blessed sight of the Guru, if suddenly the word, the naam of God, or the God is remembered and His presence is felt, that means we have met the Satguru.
satgur mili-ai fal paa-i-aa.
jin vichahu ahkaran chukaa-i-aa.
Maharaj ji says that so beautiful is the fruit of the meeting with the Guru, that we are given re-birth and made to realize our true self.
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਟਿਆ ਭਾਗੁ ਬੈਠਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਆਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
durmat kaa dukh kati-aa bhaag baithaa mastak aa-ay jee-o
Maharaj ji says when re-birth takes place where the mind used to be sitting, now that seat becomes the seat of the Divine.
Please feel the pressure at the forehead or His presence moving in a circle.
bhaag baithaa mastak aa-ay jee-o
Wa He Gu Ru, Wa He Gu Ru,
Please come behind the skin. Please pull the consciousness with great force at the forehead, and bring it behind the skin. While remaining focused at both the ears and then converge both the lines from the ears at the forehead behind the skin, like a triangle.
ਜਜ਼ਬਾਤੀ ਦਰਵਾਜਾ ਨਾਂ ਉਹਦੇ ਦਰ ਦਾ ਨੀ, ਦਿਲ ਦਿਆਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਲੇ
jazbaatee darvaajaa naa ohday dar daa nee, dil di-aaN hathaaN naal khulay
ਆਸ਼ਿਕ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਉਸ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਨੀ, ਉਹ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗੇ
aashik hovay jihrhaa sohnay us rab daa nee, oh ikala jihaa hon lagay
ਇਸ਼ਤਿਹਾਰ ਉਹੋ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਦਿਆਂ ਚੌਂਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੁਹੱਬਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁੰਮਣ ਦਾ ਲਾਵੇ
ishtihaar oho sochaaN diaaN chauNkaaN vich, muhabataaN day guman daa laavay
The consciousness must always remember that I have ishq within me and it is lost. Forehead is the crossroads for the mind; from here the mind runs outward in all directions. We must put an advertisement at this crossroads, which means we must remember that the Ishq within me is lost.
ਜਿਸਮਸਾਜ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਕੇ ਉਹੋ, ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਕਰੇ
jisamsaaj day shahir vich aakay oho, talaash muhabat karay
Then he comes to know that the ishq for the Divine is within, it’s not outside, it’s within. So he comes inside the city of the Divine and starts searching for ishq.
Please stay at the forehead and keep feeling the Divine presence.
For the last few weeks, we have been recognizing the different, merciful faces of the Guru. One of His merciful faces is the face of a daughter’s father.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬੁਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੈ ਦਾਜੋ ॥
har parabh mayray babulaa har dayvhu daan mai daajo
He becomes the father and then sings like the daughter to show her that this is how you should sing.
Oh my Divine Father, please give me alms of the presence of God within me. Please give me the Divine in dowry.
ਹਰਿ ਕਪੜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਵਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਜੋ ॥
har kaprho har sobhaa dayvhu jit savrai mayraa kaajo
I want the Divine to be my wedding suit; that the Divine should be in my eyes, the Divine should be on my tongue, my ears should be full of His utterances, and within me I should be singing His glories, so that my affairs can be taken care of.
And what is our affair ?
That we become reborn and live from our true self, our soul.
This is a letter from a daughter of mine from Edmonton, Canada. She says initially it was very difficult for me to sing, but now I can’t even do paath without singing. Singing is happening automatically. Throughout the day, I keep singing either Gurbaanee or some dhaarnaa. And in the sangat I feel the pain of separation from Him so intensely, that that pain flows out of me in the form of tears, uncontrollable tears.
With His grace, when I listen to the Anhad Shabad, I could hear it from the right side all the time but it takes focus to hear it from the left side. Why does it happen like that ?
This is because the consciousness thinks more about the future and is tilted to the right. If we think more about the past, then our consciousness becomes tilted towards the left side, but if we keep thinking more about the future, then our consciousness tilts towards the right. But it must remain, it should remain in the center, in the street of the present.
Dhaarnaa:
ਵੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਜਿਊਣਾ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਿਆ
vay mainoo tayray baajhoN jioona gunaah lagi-aa
ਉਹਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਾ, ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹਵਾ ਕਹਿ ਗਈ
ohnay ajay nahi aaunaa jaaNdee havaa kah ga-ee
ਮੇਰੀ ਸੋਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ, ਪਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੈ ਗਈ
mayree soch mainoo taari-aaN toN, paraaN lai ga-ee
The wind passing by me whispered into my ear that He is not coming yet. He’s not coming soon yet. And I became shocked, my consciousness became lost in deep thought.
ਗੀਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਿਆਂ ਅੰਞਾਣਿਆਂ ਦਾ, ਦਿਲ ਡੁੱਬਿਆ
geetaaN mayri-aaN anjaani-aaN daa, dil dubi-aa
My songs have disappeared. They don’t come to me anymore.
ਵੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰ ਬਾਝੋਂ ਜਿਊਣਾ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲੱਗਿਆ
