ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥
॥ ਜਪੁ॥
ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Ji, Maharaj Ji says:
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
kirpaa karay jis paarbarahm hovai saaDhoo sang.
ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਓਹੁ ਵਧਾਈਐ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
ji-o ji-o oh vaDhaa-ee-ai ti-o ti-o har si-o rang.
Maharaj Ji says that when the Divine becomes graceful to someone, He blesses that person with the holy congregation. The more and more we dwell in that congregation, the more and more we become imbued with ishq, with God, pure love!
We are so fortunate, so blessed that He brought us to His court and gave us space to sit here.
ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਵਡਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
ik til pi-aaraa veesrai rog vadaa man maahi.
Maharaj Ji says that when we forget our Beloved, our Creator, we fall into the world of the mind. He says that to fall in the mind is to live the life of a person who has a big disease; disease means DIS-EASE; there is no possibility of becoming peaceful.
During Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s third appearance, He was holding His court at Goindwaal Sahib; the name of the town situated at the bank of the river Beas, about 30 kms from Sri Amritsar Sahib. A good number of sangat from Dalla village went to visit Maharaj Ji. During the last Gurpurab, while coming back from Sultanpur Sahib, we visited that village and had tea there.
Maharaj Ji says:
ਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਹੋ ਅਕਥ ਕੀ ਕਰਹ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥
aavhu sant pi-aariho akath kee karah kahaanee.
He says, my dear saints, come, you are most lovingly welcome. Come, and let us talk about the one who cannot be described. You are saints; you may be in sleep, seeing a dream, and you are convinced that this dream is true but the very one who is seeing this dream by being in the mind, is not you. You, in fact, are a saint. Your true self dwells with God continuously. You cannot be anything but a saint.
karah kahaanee akath kayree kit du-aarai paa-ee-ai.
Come, sit, and let’s talk about, through which door we can meet our Beloved. Which door? Please focus at the hirdaa (heart area).
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਉਪਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
tan man Dhan sabh sa-up gur ka-o hukam mani-ai paa-ee-ai.
Maharaj Ji says, let us sit and see through which door we can meet our Beloved. Do you know which door? Offer your body, mind, and everything that belongs to you, your wealth, to me, and then do as I ask you to do and you would meet the Divine. Bring all your wealth, body, and mind here, and obey me, and I promise that you will meet God. What does this mean? Maharaj Ji says, you know what I mean. No, my Lord, I don’t. Come back tomorrow and we will talk more about it. The next day that sangat goes back to Goindwaal Sahib. Maharaj Ji says that you offered your body, mind, and wealth to me - do you know what that means? Does your mind belong to you? All are listening and thinking and Maharaj Ji is talking to them very lovingly. He says, your mind does not belong to you, your thoughts do not belong to you; your thoughts belong to your world; not God’s world, but the world which you have created; your world! Is this body yours? Your body only does what your mind says. So, your body also belongs to your world. And all those things you have collected, that belongs to your world too! So, what belongs to you?
Maharaj Ji says we must understand that right now your mind belongs to your world. Your thoughts always remain concerned with your world - family, friends, spouse, mother, father, job, house, bank account, properties. That’s what your mind keeps thinking about. Your body is a servant of your world. And whatever you have accumulated, that is going to be your world’s as well! Right now, you are sitting at the door of your world. Think about it! You are completely in their hands, in their control; you cannot go away from them even if you want to.
Can we meet the Divine by sitting at the doorstep of our own worlds? No!
He says, sit at the doorstep to my world and free yourself from the entanglements.
What is the need to sit at your doorstep?
You will meet God.
But, I have been managing without God thus far.
No, you haven’t been managing, you were helpless; there was no other recourse.
Maharaj Ji says the door you are sitting at, your consciousness is handcuffed and in shackles. You are shackled there, my dear friend! Shackled! And then there is God’s door where you would be freed from those shackles; your consciousness would be liberated and the new you would be ishq - profound, true love! The door you are sitting at, there are only shackles. The door I am talking about, there your roots are going to be planted into the Divine, into the source of your being, and you will be rejuvenated, enlivened, full of joy and freedom. There can’t be any nourishment at the door where you are sitting.
But, they do a lot for me.
I am not arguing that. That’s how they keep you there.
They give you a bath everyday, to a stone, and the stone remains dry.
Here, your roots would be planted into the source of life. You will not be a stone, you would be real; you would be authentic. You would be just like God. There, at the doorstep to your world, you would be a stone and that too, shackled. Here you would become alive, peaceful, totally content, joyous!

karah kahaanee akath kayree kit du-aarai paa-ee-ai.
This is how you meet God, by leaving that door and sitting at this door. That is what I mean when I say:
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਉਪਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
tan man Dhan sabh sa-up gur ka-o hukam mani-ai paa-ee-ai.
I am not saying sell all your properties and bring the money here. All I am saying is change the door where you are sitting, that’s all!
That’s all ?
Yes, that’s all, but don’t think it is easy.

Maharaj Ji says:
adisat disai taa kahi-aa jaa-ay.
bin daykhay kahnaa birthaa jaa-ay.
He says sit at His door and beg Him to let you behold Him, and then talk to Him. If you talk to Him without beholding Him, without feeling him, then that talk would be an empty talk.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਰਜਨੁ ਦੇਖਾ ਨੈਣ ॥
naanak kee banantee-aa har surjan daykhaa nain
It is my heartfelt plea that please let me behold you with my eyes, but he also says those eyes are different. Whomsoever God wants to be beheld by, He blesses that person with new eyes, a third eye.
Dhaarnaa:
ਵੇ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਜਣਾ, ਨਾਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ
vay dil baageeN aa sajanaa, naal aun tayray ishq havaavaaN
Oh, my Beloved, please come to the garden of my hirdaa. Let me behold your pious vision.
ਭਇਆ ਦਰਸ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ, ਸੱਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੇ ਤੇਰਾ
bha-i-aa daras hukam ho-i-aa tayraa, saddaa aa-i-aa see saanoo vay tayraa
You became merciful to me and you allowed me to come to your court. You had a seat reserved for me in your court. Then you invited me within, because nobody can go within without your invitation.
ਵੇਖਾਂ ਨੈਣੀ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵਾਂ, ਵੇ ਦਿਲ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਆ ਸੱਜਣਾ
vaykhaaN nainee tay sabh kujh charhaavaaN, vay dil baageeN aa sajanaa
When I behold you, when I feel you, all my concerns that I have to offer everything to you and come to your door, are gone. Not only have I come to your door, I have felt your presence, I have experienced your presence, I have been touched by you! It is a miracle to be touched by God, not in thoughts, but in reality! I felt his fingertips, they were so delicate and soft. He was very careful when he was touching me so that I may not become afraid and run away.
This is a letter from a child of mine from Canada. She states that now with His grace, she only waits for three times of the year - one is the Barsi, second is the Gurpurab, and third is when we meet in our respective countries. Nothing else is important to me anymore. This time I went to my village for two days and there I realized what I was carrying in me. Many times you have said that we are very fortunate but this is the first time I am realizing it. I am realizing the depth of this statement. Now I feel my Beloved, my Lord, my Father, is the king of kings, and I am her true royal princess. He is telling me what is the purpose of human life and how to live human life. I don’t know how I can show my gratitude to Him. Still sometimes my mind hijacks me and takes me outside. It has no place of its own to call home; it just keeps me everywhere. I am afraid of my own mind now lest I be robbed by my own mind. If I don’t win this game this time then who knows when my next turn will be. Oh, my Beloved God, everything is in your hands, please save me from myself.
ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਵਡਾ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
ik til pi-aaraa veesrai rog vadaa man maahi.
To leave your door and fall into the hands of the mind; to fall into my so-called world; to sit at their doorstep, is the most unfortunate life, a diseased life. Whenever we are in thoughts, we are disconnected from the Divine. The first thing the mind does is break our connection with our heart. The connection of the lips with the heart is broken and then the mind uses the lips. The heart is pure, innocent, and the mind breaks the connection.
When we forget about our Beloved, we are at the doorstep of our worlds; we fall straight into the hands of our minds. The first thing the mind does is to disconnect us from our hearts; to disconnect us from being truthful. Then there is no way we can be genuine. Our talk cannot be genuine; our talk cannot be sincere, honest, true. So, this dhaarnaa is a begging that oh, my mind, do not disconnect me from my heart.
We must take care of the most opportune time of the twenty four hours, that is between 3:30 and 5:00 a.m. The daily prayers (Nitnem) must be read, digested, and kept with us throughout the day, and then sit down with closed eyes and hear the audio of Khajana Darshan again and understand what Maharaj Ji is telling us.
Let us please tell our minds with all our being that do not disconnect me from my heart, from my Beloved; don’t make me a false person. As you sing, please do not run with it. It is supposed to make us still.

ਸੁਣ ਵੇ ਮਨਾ ਨਹੀਉਂ, ਇੰਝ ਵੇ ਕਰੀਦਾ
sun vay manaa nahee-oN, injh vay kareedaa
ਹੋਠਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਲ ਚੰਨਾ, ਵੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਿਦਾ
