Maharaj Ji says that our meditation should be so profound and done with such awakened consciousness that we uproot our consciousness from our so called worlds and root ourselves in Him, so that we remain peaceful all the time; not only when we do simran or meditation but all the time. He says, there is no life if there is no peace; there is no life if there is no love; it’s a curse then. To be in a human body and to have human consciousness, and still remain anxious, and worried - we cannot call that a blessing.
The very power whom we feel during meditation, is the source of our life. Due to Him we are alive. He is that very power that we feel within, beating in us, breathing out of us, running our kidneys, heart, lungs, converting our food into blood, and lending consciousness and energy to the various parts of our bodies. He is the source of our life. So, during meditation, with utter gratefulness and humility, bow down to Him and recognize that oh my Beloved, the True King, I am alive because of you. I am so grateful that you are blessing me with life.
I am alive because of you. I never knew that! I thought that I was just alive. It’s such a deep sleep; only He knows how many lifetimes we have passed in this sleep. How beautiful is the story! How close to us is the story! How full of ishq is the story. How alive, throbbing is the story, to which we remain completely asleep.
He says:
fareedaa umar suhaavarhee sang suvannrhee dayh.
My life has become so beautiful. It is colored with the beautiful color of ishq.
Please, let’s wake up and see what the story was; life passed away and we didn’t even get to know the ABC’s.
fareedaa umar suhaavarhee sang suvannrhee dayh.
virlay kay-ee paa-ee-aniH jinHaa pi-aaray nayh.
The worldly people’s lives are always tense, anxious, full of stress. Maharaj Ji says, only those rare ones who are in ishq with their Creator, only they recognize that life is so beautiful, that the body is so Divinely colored with His ishq. This is the state when we realize our true self, the soul.
naa-o neer chang-aa-ee-aa sat parmal tan vaas.
taa mukh hovai ujlaa lakh daatee ik daat.
He says the Divine has countless gifts and all His gifts are so precious. But there is one gift that is more precious than hundreds and thousands of His gifts - our soul. He says, ask for that and that’s what we come here every day for - to beg Him to make us realize our true self.
We can see clearly now that the days when we miss the holy congregation, how precious, how fruitful those days could have been, and they were just wasted.
Dhaarnaa:
uchee-aaN mahiNgee-aaN tayree-aaN daataaN, vich oHnaaN ik daat vay maahee-aa
Oh, my Beloved, your gifts are so Divinely, so precious, but there is one gift amongst them which is so special.
nit khudaa-ee dar tay aa-ouNdee, maNgan la-ee ko-ee daat vay maahee-aa
Every day the world comes to your door and begs you for many things.
jo jo maNgan so so dayvayN, viralee maNgay ik raat vay maahee-aa
Maharaj Ji says:
karamheen Dhan karai binantee kad naanak aavai vaaree.
Oh, my Beloved, I am waiting, which life is going to be my turn when you would spend the night with me - night being the whole life. I come and go back, and have been waiting, which life time is going to be my turn when you would spend the night with me.
sabh suhaagan maaneh ralee-aa ik dayvhu raat muraaree.
ik dayvhu raat muraaree.
Kindly bless me with one night of your union so that I can celebrate this life. Then only this life can be celebrated.
jo jo maNgan so so dayvayN, virlee maNgay ik raat vay maahee-aa
lakhaaN daataaN toN bayshkeematee, rooH sohnee dee daat vay maahee-aa
Most precious amongst all your gifts is the beautiful soul of ours.
aapay dasayN kee hai manganaa, tay safal karay hayaat vay maahee-aa
Oh, my Beloved Husband Lord, you tell me what to beg for. I have been begging for worldly things. You tell me I should beg for my soul and that’s how my life can become fruitful.
Dhaarnaa (end)
Ji, time is flowing carefree like a river. Life is passing by us but we are not going to just let it pass. We should beg for gifts from life all the time. We keep asking for little things. Sometimes we ask, please give me a speck of Naam. What kind of begging is this? Does he only have a speck of Naam? There is a beautiful secret that in order to beg for something big you have to be brave; you have to be brave! If a beggar goes to somebody’s house and one beggar asks for some clothes, shoes, or money, but another beggar has a big heart and begs for the car that is parked there, the other person would be shaken from his roots that the beggar has so much capacity, so much courage. The beggar will have that person’s attention for sure; he will ask, you don’t seem like a beggar. So, a big heart is needed to beg for something big. We must have courage to ask for the most beautiful gift.
I was telling this story from the time of the Civil War in America, during the winter months of 1863. A stranger knocks at the door of Reverend Beaker. Mrs. Beaker opens the door and she sees a tall, gangly looking person. These were the days of Civil War, and all kinds of threats were being made on the life of Rev. Beaker because he was praying for the freedom of Black slaves. Mrs. Beaker thought this person may harm my husband, shuts the door at that person and says my husband is not available. The person walks away. She goes upstairs and tells her husband that a stranger came and said that he wants to spend some time privately with you. I didn’t feel comfortable so I sent him away. Rev. Beaker ran after that person, met him in the street, and requested him to come back. He brought him in and spent some time with him. That stranger was none other than Abraham Lincoln, the President of America. In those days, there were no TV’s so people did not know how Lincoln looked. President Lincoln had come to the Reverend to pray that the war be won with minimum loss on both sides. So, these are the brave people. Only brave people reach the heights. Maharaj Ji has made us brave by blessing us with Amrit. We must reach beyond the territory of our minds and recognize our true self.
There is a letter from a son of mine. Piaaray Pitaa Ji (dear father), Last Gurpurab you had spoken about how we have done an injustice to the world by not sharing the teachings of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and celebrating them only amongst ourselves, the Sikhs. Pitaa Ji, when you spoke about this injustice we had done to the world, a huge deep thought was placed inside me instantly. I felt the pain of not sharing Him with the whole humanity. I wanted to share what was placed inside me. The thought was to set up a camp for seven days in the capital city, London, which would be the most diverse place in the UK, and through Langar Seva, engage with as many souls as possible and speak to all about Guru Nanak Dev Ji. There would be slideshows, literature, and some keertan, to get attention from media streams. That week would be a celebration of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. This could gradually extend to all countries all over the world, touching as many souls as possible with Maharaj Ji’s fragrance.
Betay, Maharaj Ji has given you a beautiful thought.
Then he writes: Pitaa Ji, when I go to bed, I place my head on the pillow, and I am in my heart area, placing my head on the Lotus Feet of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. I can feel them, their warmth, their softness. I rub my head softly against their beautiful Lotus Feet, sometimes kissing them. Instantly, I feel like a small child lying in their father’s lap. From there, I quietly slide into the most warm sleep.
How beautiful!
Ji, one thing we should all do ourselves and message others whom we know that every year, Maharaj Ji’s Gurpurab is in November and we should decorate our homes and businesses with lights all month long. You can see how Christmas trees start coming into the market and people start Christmas shopping more than a month in advance. So, we should light up our homes and businesses for the entire month of November. This is the real Diwaalee that the world doesn’t know about.
bali-o charaag anDh-yaar meh sabh kal uDhree ik naam Dharam.
It is our duty to let others know.
baabaanee-aa kahaanee-aa put saput karayn.
Celebrate Gurpurab locally wherever you are. Also, visit Bulandpuri Sahib where sangat from all over the world gathers to celebrate Gurpurab from November 9 - 19. Last year, sangat from 25 countries visited. It was the first year. Please come and we will celebrate together. Please call your friends throughout the world and let them know to decorate their homes and businesses with lights all month long in November. That will be Simran; the lights will point towards His remembrance for the entire month.
Every day, please continue to do sangat, Nitnem, make notes daily, listen to a Khajana Darshan here, and then listen to an older Khajana Darshan at home and go deep into meditation.
And now to the sangat who is not here with us physically but they are with us through Youtube. Now, this message for them:
Dhaarnaa:

Oh, the wind, passing by me and going towards my dear friends, please convey my regards and love to them.

Oh, my beloved friends all over the world, every day in the morning and night, I pray for your safety, your well-being.

Our Beloved was sending you a very urgent message, and the message is that tomorrow we are going to reap what we are sowing today. So, today is the most important day of our life because tomorrow we are going to reap what we are sowing today.
What you are going to receive tomorrow is being decided today, on the basis of your deeds.
