ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Let’s please focus at the hirdaa (heart area), totally focused!
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤੀ ਤੁਸਿ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
har charan kamal kee tayk satgur ditee tus kai bal raam jee-o.
Last night, this young man called from New Zealand and he was crying over the phone. I asked, baytaa, what happened? He said, I have applied at forty different places for jobs, and it has been a no from every place. I said it’s no reason to cry, no reason to become frustrated. All we have to do is bring the Divine into our life. Every no that you are receiving is taking you towards a yes. With every no, you are moving closer to yes. We should take His support and His support gives us enormous strength and hope. It is very important that we help children from a young age to bring the Divine into their life.
On our own we can only have so much hope, and after that one becomes scared, frustrated, dejected, rejected. But if we have the Divine in our lives then the magnitude of hope and faith within us, the space of hope and faith in us becomes infinite and one never becomes discouraged. It’s the hope which keeps us going.
I was saying that when we pray to Him for something, it’s not necessary that He is going to answer our prayer right away. No! He is carefree. He’s not our servant that He has to answer right away. He is the creator and owner of the universe, so He may remain quiet for some days. Then suddenly when we are not even thinking about this problem, the thought comes to us, the solution is shown to us, and that is never our own thought. That thought, that blessing comes from Him.
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤੀ ਤੁਸਿ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
har charan kamal kee tayk satgur ditee tus kai bal raam jee-o.
tus kai - very happily
bal raam - I am a sacrifice unto my Beloved who is permeating in every pore of the universe.
Maharaj Ji says that whosoever goes to Him for support, for help, He gives the support very pleasingly; He becomes so pleased that my child has come to me. Imagine that! But we become so lost in our world, not in His world but in our world, the world of the mind, that we forget where to go.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਸੋ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
jis no tayree tayk so sadaa sad jeev-ee bal raam jee-o.
He says whosoever sits at my doorstep and leaves all other supports, not only I give him every possible support for the worldly affairs, I give him rebirth, and he realizes that it was never him, it was the truth. And the transformation has happened from mere mortal to immortal. So, it is very important that we keep sitting at His doorstep.
ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਤੁਝੈ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
tayree tayk tujhai tay paa-ee saachay sirjanhaaraa.
Please understand this. He says nobody can come to me and take my support. I give the support. Don’t think that you can go anytime and receive His support. No!
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਖਾਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹੀ ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
jis tay khaalee ko-ee naahee aisaa parabhoo hamaaraa.
Do you know who my Beloved is? Everything and everybody is full of Him. He is my Beloved. Maybe He’s someone else's Beloved too, but I know He is my Beloved. Those who have ishq have a language and it cannot be learned from the outside. Integrated, focused consciousness is filled with ishq and Gurbaanee is the language from that ishqful consciousness.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਆਸ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਹਾਰੀ ॥
sant janaa mil mangal gaa-i-aa din rain aas tumHaaree.
Maharaj Ji says sit in the holy congregation and sing the Divine’s glories. Sing songs uttered by Him.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਗੁਣ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਗਾਇਆ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
satgur mili-aa da-i-aal gun abhinaasee gaa-i-aa bal raam jee-o.
He says by singing the love songs uttered by Divine, just by singing those songs, He met me.
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗਾਉ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਆਮੀਆ ॥
gun govind gaa-o nit nit paraan pareetam su-aamee-aa.
Maharaj Ji says, everyday sing His songs, He is your beloved, He is your breath, and breath is the source of life. He is the source of your life, He is your beloved, sing His songs. Then what would happen?
ਸੁਭ ਦਿਵਸ ਆਏ ਗਹਿ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਏ ਮਿਲੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀਆ ॥
subh divas aa-ay geh kanth laa-ay milay antarjaamee-aa.
Beautiful days will come. Just sing, bathe in His utterances. If He is saying, sing, sing, sing, He is not talking to the space, He is talking to you! But this singing is different. We will talk about that. The singing that Maharaj Ji talks about is totally different, where it’s not I am singing, no, Ego cannot sing about anybody else's glories except itself. He says if you sing His songs everyday, beautiful days will come; He will catch hold of you and embrace you so tightly to His bosom. He, who knows you inside out, will meet you.
Maharaj Ji keeps saying, sing, sing, sing! But we keep falling down in the blind well and keep missing the season to sing His glories, the season to meet Him, the season to enjoy His union. But now, let’s not miss that beautiful season again.
Singing heals our consciousness. Every thought which comes to us, either makes us move us away from the Divine, or brings us closer to Him, no matter how small a distance that is. Our consciousness cannot stay still at any point. It will either rise up or it will fall down. When it falls down, when we are in our minds, then that consciousness becomes fractured, and the only way to heal it is by offering ourselves to the healing energy.
mayraa baid guroo govindaa.
Maharaj Ji says Guru is your physician, who can heal your wounded consciousness. How does He heal us? He gives us love songs and says to sing these, and healing energy will arise within you. That will heal you and the others around you too. Maharaj Ji says my physician is the Divine, who gives me the medicine of healing energy, healing power through singing His songs. That heals my consciousness, makes my consciousness integrated into one piece, which can focus. The most healing songs are His utterances. That’s why He keeps saying sing, sing, sing, sing, sing!
The most healing music is the string music. That’s why Guru Nanak Dev Ji always kept Bhai Mardana Ji with him. Bhai Mardana Ji would play the string music, the rebab. Maharaj Ji would say: Mardana, pick up the Rebab, His songs are coming. Music and Gurbaanee is the most potent healing medicine, and when Gurbaanee is sung, the most potent songs are sung with the most potent music, imagine the healing power. And that’s what He has given us, which we call Keertan. Most potent healing songs, sung with the most potent healing music.
The thing which hurts us the most, makes our consciousness most wounded is anger. Listen to Him, what He says:
Anger shakes us from the roots, wounds our consciousness, and then that wounded consciousness wounds others. It hurts itself more by sparking out of anger and wounds others. Singing His songs purifies our consciousness and pure consciousness is nothing but ishq. God is ishq, and when our consciousness becomes holy, then He says you and God are one.

ਮੇਰਾ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਬਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ…..ਮੇਰਾ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਬਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ
mayraa ishq banan noo jee kardaa….mayraa ishq banan noo jee kardaa
How I’m longing to be ishq.
Maharaj Ji says:
ਏ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਹੁ ਮੇਰਿਹੋ ਸਾਚੈ ਸੁਨਣੈ ਨੋ ਪਠਾਏ ॥
ay sarvanhu mayriho saachai sunnai no pathaa-ay.
He says that the ears I have given you are to hear His utterances, not to hear slander.
ਸਾਚੈ ਸੁਨਣੈ ਨੋ ਪਠਾਏ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਲਾਏ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਸਤਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
saachai sunnai no pathaa-ay sareer laa-ay sunhu sat banee.
He says, I attached the ears to your body so that you can hear His utterances, His songs of love.

ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਝ ਜੋ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੁੱਝ ਵੀ….ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਬਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ
tayray baajh jo sunanaa hor kujh vee…..oh sravan banan noo jee kardaa
I long to become the ears who would only listen to Him.
ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਛਣ-ਛਣ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਵਾਲੀ….ਤੇ ਗੀਤ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਦਾ ਬਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ
naal bharay rahin chhan-chhan ishq vaalee…..tay geet ishq daa banan noo jee kardaa
I want to become the ears who would remain full of Divine music. There would be no space left in them to hear anything else. The divine Celestial Music is the song of ishq. Celestial music is the ishq singing. I want to become the song of ishq!
ਮੇਰਾ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਬਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ…..ਗੀਤ ਇਸ਼ਕ ਬਣਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ

When Maharaj Ji says:
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਆਸ ਤੁਮ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥
sant janaa mil mangal gaa-i-aa din rain aas tumHaaree.
I was saying that when we sing, each and everyone of us becomes string music, which Maharaj Ji calls Rabab, and when all of us, all of us string musical instruments play together in the same rhythm, imagine the healing power of that! But even if one music instrument is out of line with others, that not only does damage to the self, but to others too. So, Instead of healing the reverse happens. This path is very subtle and one needs very subtle consciousness to walk this path.
This letter is from a young son of mine from Canada. He writes that:
Maharaj Ji has been very merciful to wake me up early in the morning, take me to the Darbar Sahib. I feel He has changed me a lot. I remain totally peaceful now. Previously, any small thing would disturb me but now nothing disturbs me; I always remain peaceful. When I go for a walk, I’m always thinking about Him, or singing, and I feel a great intoxication. I feel like sitting down there and keep enjoying the intoxication. One thing that is very amazing is that whenever I get any question, or a thought, and listen to Khajana Darshan, the answer would be there. Or He would give the thought to go to the notebook. I open the notebook and the answer is there. That’s amazing! My only prayer to Him is: please keep me with You, please keep me with You.
Baytaa, how blessed you are! We are so proud of you.
The moment we become separated from Him, we start walking the path of suicide. Suicide is to kill the self, to walk the path of death. If we are not with Him, then we are most certainly on the path of death, path of suicide. This dhaarnaa is that whenever I start walking the path of suicide, I’m stopped, and I ask: who are you, who is stopping me from this path of suicide? And the answer comes: it’s your Beloved, it’s your Beloved!

Oh my Beloved, you met me first thing in the morning, and my whole day passed like I was passing through a fragrance.
ਮੇਰੀ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਰੋਕਿਆ……ਮਹਿਹਬੂਬ ਨਾਅ ਸੂ ਓਸ ਦੱਸਿਆ
mayree khudkushee daa raah kisay roki-aa………….mahiboob naa soo os dasi-aa
Somebody stopped me from walking the path of suicide, and I asked: Who are you? And he said: your beloved.
