ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Let us please become focused wherever it’s easier for us.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਾਈ ਭਲੀ ਕਾਰ ॥
jo tudh bhaavai saiee bhalee kaar ||
Maharaj Ji says those who have forgotten the Divine and are led by their minds; they have taken control of their own lives and they don’t want help from anyone else.Those who are living life out of their minds, their way of living is very different; most of the time if not all, it is very fake, shallow, ego centered, power centered. But Maharaj Ji says that if you have come to My door then remain assured that there would be times in your life when you would think that this should not have happened; remember always at those times that you may not recognize it but there is something good in it for you.
Difficult situations arise in life and they should. Those who don’t experience any difficulties in life, even getting up from the couch is challenging for them. They can’t even think about getting up at Amrit Vaylaa. Difficult situations don’t come to destroy us, rather they come to make us stronger so we should welcome them with an open heart and an open mind - welcome, you must have brought a lesson for me that I need to learn and that’s why the Divine sent you. Please forgive me that I was displeased to see you; I am foolish, don’t know anything.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਾਈ ਭਲੀ ਕਾਰ ॥
jo tudh bhaavai saiee bhalee kaar ||
too sadaa salaamat nirankaar.
Maharaj Ji says everything happens in His hukam. Even those who do not obey the Divine, they are in His hukam as well; the suffering they experience is in His hukam.
He says:
ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ॥
aapay har ik rang hai aapay baho rangee.
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਾਈ ਗਲ ਚੰਗੀ ॥
jo tis bhaavai naankaa saa-ee gal changee.
Maharaj Ji says whatever is visible to you, it is all God. He is manifesting in all different forms. The person sitting next to you - left, right, front, back - God Himself is sitting but He is acting and does not let one see that it’s Him; He says, oh that is Surinder Singh (Baba Ji laughs).
I have fallen at your doorstep, please protect me. No one in the world would care about someone like me, and You are the Divine. Because of Your greatness, because of Your mercy, compassion, because of Your large-heartedness, You are going to keep me here.
The biggest miracle of life is when we fall at the feet of the Guru. Time is flying by and the destination is far. To become the true self, the soul, and then dissolve into the Divine and eliminate the self, that is the destination.
Maharaj Ji says it is good when your ego is eliminated so your true self is revealed. We have to remain very alert and not imitate the world.
bisar ga-ee sabh taat paraa-ee.
jab tay saaDhsangat mohi paa-ee.
Maharaj Ji says that the one who is blessed with the holy congregation is saved from jealousy; jealousy about what others have, or what their children have achieved, and so on. Being in the holy congregation saves us from that fire of jealousy. What a blessing! We may not agree to this but within us there are these thoughts.
We must not follow the world, please, because our destination is so high. Our destination is so high that it kills us, and not make us egoistic. Those who are on a quest to find diamonds and pearls do not imitate the ways of those who are into collecting petty seashells. Please, let us not spend our lives accumulating worldly things.

ਹੌਲੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ…..ਕੰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਹਿ ਗਿਆ
houlee jihee jivayN ko-ee……kan vich kah gi-aa
Someone whispered in my ears.
ਸੁਰਤੀ ਚ ਜੀਹਦੇ ਨੀ…..ਸਮਾਨ ਮਾਏ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ
surtee ch jeeHday nee….samaan maa-ay rah gi-aa
ਸੁਣੀਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਉਹ ਤੇ……ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ
suneedaa vichaara oh tay…..raah vich rah gi-aa
I have heard that those in whom the worldly things remain, they do not reach the destination and end up on the way.
We are not going to end on the way.

Please be careful about one thing. Sometimes it happens; mostly with worldly people; they spend all their life getting ready to live - after my son gets admission, I will be happier, then I will pray more, if this marriage happens then all my weight will be lifted, and so on. We must understand this. The way our mind has an agenda on how to make us live life - it always says if I get this, if I get this. Life gets spent but the if’s never end. Those who understand the secret of life, they immediately become alert - What? This story is so straight forward! Maharaj Ji says that the Guru shows us the path that is level and smooth; the mind shows us the bumpy path. We are not going to remain in making preparations for living; we are going to start living right away! First thing we must do every day is to work on ourselves; I am going to become a gift for myself. At this time, the mind is our suffering. We must move away from this suffering and become peaceful. Everyday we must consciously work on ourselves; that I want to become better today; better than yesterday - through meditation and then throughout the day practicing what Maharaj Ji teaches us. Make your insides pure with Simran and then maintain that purity inside throughout the day. At every step, we will face situations that will bring us into the mind, but stay awake. Throughout the day, we must remain alert about the presence of God and remain very loving, very forgiving, very tender-hearted. We will become happy; we will respect others, that will make us happy; we will become tender hearted, that will make us happy. We must remain very very tender hearted towards each other, very loving, very forgiving, and start right away! We don’t prepare for these things but keep working on them every day.
We must help the children to choose the right path of living human life. It is our moral obligation, our responsibility. Then, when they grow up they will remain on that path. To the youth: Betay, you know how much I love you and what type of expectations I have from you. Those expectations are not out of any selfish motive, you know that. I urge you, please, you are my sons and daughters, please listen to your parents; honor your mother and father, they have done a lot for you. They stayed up all the nights everyday to bring you up; their lives revolved around you. We can learn a lot from them.
I have seen an eternal law of nature in the world, starting from my family, that children who respect their parents receive respect in return from their children. One who does not respect their parents, is rejected by their own children. This is a law of nature; you can see around yourself. If you respect your parents you will receive respect when you grow up.
And to the parents, please remember that we must deserve our children's respect, we must deserve their honor. Otherwise they are not going to and they should not; why should they?
Life is going by so quickly. With His mercy, He has brought us and He keeps us in the garden of most beautiful souls; we are so lucky. We must help those who are not so lucky.

While walking the journey of life, please encourage those who have become despondent. Show them how promising life is.
ਤਜਰਬੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇ ਬੈਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਕਿਰਨਾਂ…..ਦੇਵੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਪਾ ਬੀਬਾ
tajarbay aapnay day baig vichoN kadh kirnaaN….dayveeN oHnaaN day raah tay paa beebaa
Take that light of lessons that life has taught us and use that to light the path of those who have given up on life.

Those who live life out of the mind, Maharaj Ji says:
ਭੁਖਿਆ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਉਤਰੀ ਜੇ ਬੰਨਾ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਭਾਰ ॥
bhukhi-aa bhukh na utree jay bannaa puree-aa bhaar.
He made everything clear in the first stanza of Japjee Sahib.
When He becomes merciful and attaches us to Him, after a long time, a stage comes that only one thing remains in us; just one word - shukraanaa (gratitude). Our true self is so beautiful, so pious, so tender that the only word which arises in it is gratitude, gratefulness. If you are walking, oh my beloved, so thankful to you for blessing me with legs. You are reading something, so grateful for blessing me with eyes; you drive a car, so grateful you let me use these machines; you sit on a table, so thankful you made these tables and chairs for me. Nothing else remains - just gratitude and tears.
How can I thank you; you kept coming and blessing me with the dust of your feet and kept making me wealthy. Those who give so much wealth, how can they be thanked.
To my young sons and daughters: please remember our mission; that should surround us all the time.
A son of mine wrote this letter yesterday: Baba Ji, how quickly these days went by! See the innocence. This is not a 10-11 year old child; he is older but the innocence is still there. Ji, I wanted to share the state of my heart with you. You are leaving for the next village on Wednesday and the hole, the empty space in this heart is barely filled; what will happen to that hole? I can live with thorns while keeping a smile but how will I live without sangat?
How beautiful! Betay, God has made such arrangements for us that even when we are separated physically for a while, we will remain together via sound.

Tell my beloved ones that I am a little worried about you; I wonder how fast you are moving towards the Self and our Beloved. Although I was worried about you there is hope in my eyes that you must be doing well.
