ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Fully focused please, wherever it is easier for us - at the root point, navel point, hirdaa, in between the eyes, or on top of our heads.
ਵਿਣੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਜਿ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਦੁਖਾ ਕੈ ਦੁਖ ॥
vin tuDh hor je mangnaa sir dukhaa kai dukh.
He says asking for anybody except the Divine is to invite misery of all miseries.
ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਭੁਖ ॥
deh naam santokhee-aa utrai man kee bhukh.
He says, don’t ask for anybody else; just ask for the Divine, beg for Him to come to your house so you can become fully and forever content.
ਭੁਖਿਆ ਭੁਖ ਨ ਉਤਰੀ ਜੇ ਬੰਨਾ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਭਾਰ ॥
bhukhi-aa bhukh na utree jay bannaa puree-aa bhaar.
ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਉਤਰੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਭੁਖ ॥
deh naam santokhee-aa utrai man kee bhukh.
ਗੁਰਿ ਵਣੁ ਤਿਣੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਕੀਤਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਆ ਮਨੁਖ ॥
gur van tin hari-aa keeti-aa naanak ki-aa manukh.
Please understand one thing. When Maharaj Ji Himself uses the word gur; even though there is no difference between Him and the Divine but still He says that my Guru is the Divine Himself.
ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਏਕੈ ਅਵਤਾਰਾ ॥
aadh a(n)t ekai avataaraa ||
ਸੋਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਮਝਿਯਹੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥੩੮੫॥
soiee guroo samajhiyahu hamaaraa ||385||
When He says, see the Guru has given life to everything, He means the Divine. Then He says in other hymns that there is no difference between the Guru and the Divine. Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the Guru; the same light who used to operate in ten pious bodies.
He says, He is keeping all the vegetation alive; look around, how alive is all the vegetation! It does not have a tongue and can’t even ask but He blesses it without asking. You have a tongue and you can ask. If He gives to those who can’t even ask, won’t He provide to you whatever you need?
Everything He says is so deep. I want to say this lovingly that if we make notes of His utterances, that will get absorbed in our consciousness. Then we can refresh notes from 3-4 deewans in 10-15 minutes.
Please understand one thing. We have to remain fully awake now. We don’t have to ask for any worldly things from Him. Starting today, every day we must thank Him for everything He has blessed us with so far and for everything that He is going to bless us with in the future; thanks, gratitude; and then ask for Him only. If we do this then it is very pleasing to Him; He says you trust Me that I am going to keep providing for you. Then you can see if He gives more by doing this or by complaining (Baba Ji laughs).
There is a letter from Michigan, USA. We will read a paragraph.
Dear Baba Ji, It has been a few years that I have been in saadhsangat and over these years I have seen lots of changes in me. For some reason, after keeping listening to Khajana Darshan again and again and again, I am feeling very peaceful and a different type of transformation.
I was saying that yesterday when I boarded the plane from Denver to Calgary, a very pleasant person was sitting beside me. I said hello to him and asked him, do you live in Calgary? He said, yes I do. Then he looked at me and said, are you a minister of a church? I said, that is a very good guess. He said, no it’s not a guess, I feel the peace from you. We are all becoming peaceful. This is the glory of the house of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
There are a few things I want to share, Baba Ji. When I do Simran, at times I see myself disappearing. There was one instance where I saw a blue white light coming out of my body.
This is a very high stage. Sometimes I receive letters from you saying that when I do simran, I fall asleep. That is actually not sleeping; it is forgetting our “I”. This is after that stage. Blue color emanates from our throat area and that’s the sign that we are approaching the state where we can speak the truth.
I feel warmth as if someone has created a warm bubble around me.
Please feel the warmth within as well as around us.
Baba Ji, I saw my body sitting like I would see it in the mirror.
Betay, this is a big blessing; practice this stage more and more. This is the stage where we empty our house; where the ego empties the house. This is the stage in Simran where we can see our body sitting; the next stage is when the self becomes a very fine, small thing. In one hymn, Maharaj Ji says that I become a very tiny thing and fly in the skies; that is the stage when our self (it is the true self) becomes a very small thing - it can leave the body and come back into it.
Betay, become more and more accustomed to seeing your body sitting. Even now, let’s feel our bodies sitting and singing.
ਖਿੰਥਾ ਕਾਲੁ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਡੰਡਾ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ॥
khinthaa kaal ku-aaree kaa-i-aa jugat dandaa parteet.
Please feel the sound coming out of our throat and the lower body is not felt, if we are fully focused.
Make your attire the time. As any attire keeps fading, moving towards becoming worn, the same way every moment we are moving towards death; not us now, but those who follow their minds.
Maharaj Ji says the time which is given to you, take that as your robes; your robes are becoming thinner and thinner every day, and one day they will be gone.
ku-aaree kaa-i-aa - your body should be untouched.
We have to see who we are. In the previous villages, we started talking about this. Once we understand what this body is then we will understand who I am. Please understand this very carefully.
khinthaa kaal ku-aaree kaa-i-aa
Please focus at the hirdaa. Because we are singing His pious utterances, if we are awake and our consciousness is still then these vibrations will go directly to the heart. Please feel the vibrations arising from these words striking the heart.
jugat dandaa parteet.
parteet - faith, devotion.
Jogee’s wear a patched quilt and keep a staff in their hands. Maharaj Ji says faith should be your staff.
Sometimes Maharaj Ji calls kaa-i-aa (the body) a virgin, untouched, pure. Somewhere, He says the kaa-i-aa (body) is crazy.
ਕਾਇਆ ਕਮਲੀ ਹੰਸੁ ਇਆਣਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਣੀਤਾ ॥
kaa-i-aa kamlee hans i-aanaa mayree mayree karat bihaaneetaa.
We have to see what is kaa-i-aa, this body? The Guru tells us.
mayraa baid guroo govindaa.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਵੈ ਕਾਟੈ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫੰਧਾ ॥
har har naam a-ukhaDh mukh dayvai kaatai jam kee fanDhaa.
If the mind is present that means the body is sick with the disease of anger, greed, lust, pride, attachment. Maharaj Ji says that ego is the mother of all diseases - disease of anger, greed, lust, attachment, and all that. The Guru becomes the physician to make us healthy.
Dhaarnaa:
ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਰਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ….ਵੈਦ ਕੋਲ ਚੱਲ ਨੀ ਮਾਏ
mayraa jee raajee nahee rahiNdaa…..vaid kol chal nee maa-ay
Oh, my mother, let’s go to the physician, the Guru. He is the perfect physician. He not only cures your body, He makes our consciousness healthy too.
ਨੀ ਇਹ ਕੌਣ ਜਿੰਨੂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਕਾਇਆ
nee ih koun jinoo kahiNday kaa-i-aa
Who is this, whom we call kaa-i-aa, the body?
ਤੇ ਭਲਾ ਸੋਹਣਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਬਣਾਇਆ
tay bhalaa sohni-aaN nay kee ih banaa-i-aa
Oh, my mother, do you know what this body actually is; what my Beloved has created?
ਨੀ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਲੀ, ਕੁਆਰੀ ਕੀਹਨੂੰ ਆਖੇ
nee kih-rhee mailee, ku-aaree keeHnoo aakhay
Whom He says virgin and whom He says unholy?
ਕੌਣ ਕਮਲੀ ਸਿਆਣੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਭਾਖੇ
koun kamlee si-aanee kaa-i-aa bhaakhay
Whom He says that this body is so wise and this body is crazy?
ਚੱਲ ਨਬਜ਼ ਦਿਖਾਈਏ ਜਾਕੇ ਉਹਨੂੰ….ਹੋਇਆ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲਗਦਾ….. ਝਲ ਨੀ ਮਾਏ
chal nabaz dikhaa-ee-ay jaakay oHnoo….ho-i-aa is noo vee lagdaa….. jhal nee maa-ay
Oh, my mother, let’s go to the Guru physician and show him my pulse. I feel this body of mine is also crazy. Let’s go to Him and ask Him what is the disease I am suffering from that I never feel peaceful, or grateful, or loving, or kind.
ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਰਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ….ਵੈਦ ਕੋਲ ਚੱਲ ਨੀ ਮਾਏ

Ji, we are seeing the time when the Divine light is operating through Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s third appearance. Earlier we saw what happened when Akbar came and visited Guru Amar Das Ji. Akbar was very young when his father passed away. His officials used to run the empire. With time, some of them rebelled and occupied certain territories. When Akbar grew up, he strengthened his army, suppressed the rebellions and eliminated his opponents, after which he divided India into 22 provinces. The present day provinces in India started at the time of Akbar. At the same time, Guru Amar Das Ji announced the appointment of manjees. Wherever Guru Nanak Dev Ji used to go, after reforming someone like Sajan Thag, once Maharaj Ji saw that soul has been purified, He would assign them the duty of preaching the message to others that with the grace of the Guru one can meet the Divine directly. Guru Angad Dev Ji also gave the same message to his disciples. During the third appearance of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, He appointed 22 manjees all over India and Afghanistan. These 22 people were those who had pleased the Guru with their way of living and obeying the Guru and remaining with the Divine all the time. So, Maharaj Ji appointed 22 of them throughout India and they were called as manjeedaars. The holy congregation would get together regularly at their places and they were taught how to meet God directly, right away, with the grace of the Guru. These 22 people would go to Goindwaal Sahib where Maharaj Ji was stationed in Punjab at the banks of River Beas. All 22 of them went there twice a year to have their questions answered or any doubts removed.
Ji, we must join in Asa Di Vaar during Amrit Vaylaa. The very early hours of the morning after midnight, that’s the time when Maharaj Ji very generously distributes His blessings and that’s also the time when the sleep comes around us so forcefully. So, we must make the right choice. If we take care of those early hours of the morning then the whole day would be so beautiful, so peaceful, so love filled, a celebration! Then each day of our life will become a celebration.

Oh, my Beloved, you are the first one who met me this morning and the whole day felt like fragrance. I felt fragrant and the surroundings felt fragrant too.
ਤੇਰੀ ਦੀਦ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਲਵਾ ਵੇ ਮਹਿਰਮਾ….ਮੈਂ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ….ਸਾਂਭੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ
tayree deed vaalaa jalvaa vay mahirmaa…..maiN nainaaN vich saaMbhee rakhi-aa
Oh, my Beloved, the splendor, the glitter, the grace of me beholding You; I preserved that beautiful experience throughout the day.
