Let us please all come at the navel point, and become so totally focused at that point. Maharaj Ji says:
naabh kamal meh baydee rach lay barahm gi-aan uchaaraa.
Maharaj Ji says that navel point is immensely important. The consciousness of a worldly person flows from the navel point downward. He also calls that downward flow of the consciousness asur nadee - evil river. The area below the navel point is where lust, anger, pride, attachment, and ego dwell. When He blesses us, He blossoms the consciousness at the navel point. Earlier the flower was face down and the consciousness flowed downward; after He blesses us, the face of the flower is turned upward and a river starts flowing upward, which is called river of ishq.
asmaan mi-yaanay lahang daree-aa gusal kardan bood.
If we focus at our navel point and see our consciousness is flowing downward that means all of our consciousness is worldly. If the consciousness is flowing upward then that means He has blessed us and consciousness has started moving towards the Divine. If nothing is happening, neither upward or downward flow, that means our journey towards His home has not started. Please look closely and see which is our condition.
naabh kamal meh baydee rach lay barahm gi-aan uchaaraa.
He says while staying at the navel point, recite the sacred word. This is the point from where the consciousness rises upwards towards its Beloved’s home.
mayray garih aa-ay raajaa raam bhataaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
From here, the Divine marries us and takes us upward.
The consciousness that is flowing downwards, Maharaj ji calls it asur nadee. Sur means angel, so asur means the opposite. The downward flowing consciousness can only be used for lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego but it cannot be used to meet the Divine. In order to meet the Divine, it is important for the consciousness to flow upwards, towards the Divine.
There is a letter from a daughter of mine. She writes that on July 21st when you started to sing the line:
Dhan so raag surangrhay aalaapat sabh tikh jaa-ay.
I felt my tummy was expanding from my navel point. While singing that line, I felt a baby there and that the baby was upside down. Then, on July 22 when you read that line again, the baby turned upward.
First of all, the thought about the baby came because you had it in your mind that God is going to make you a mother. When you felt the baby was upside down, it was the flower of your consciousness facing downward; flowing only downward towards the blind well. The next day, with His grace, He reversed the flower, and made it upward. He made the consciousness looking upward and ready to rise upwards toward God.
How beautiful are the names he places. Asur Nadee, evil river flowing downwards. River of ishq flowing upwards.
Stay at the navel point, please.
paalay baalak vaag day kai aap kar.
Maharaj Ji says I am still nurturing you the same way I was nurturing you when you were a little baby. We are trying to understand when a baby comes into this world, what he experiences, why he cries as soon as he comes into the world, and then what happens that calms him down.
He says I am still nurturing you the same way I was nurturing you when you were little. But we have created our own worlds and have gone so far that we have no idea who we are, and are cheating our own brothers and sisters. The land of our common father that belonged to all brothers and sisters; when those brothers and sisters went abroad we cheated them; not knowing who I am, why I’m here, and what I’m doing. Please look at the pitiful state of consciousness; cheating with our own brothers and sisters for the sake of our own children.
paalay baalak vaag day kai aap kar.
Kar means hand. As soon as the baby arrives, He cradles the baby in His hands and makes the baby feel Him in the form of tender, loving vibrations.
Please feel the movement at the navel point. Please feel closely something moving there.
sarab Dhaar samrath ha-o tis kurbaanee-ai.
Everybody is alive because of Him, and I’m a sacrifice to Him.
kardaa anad binod kichhoo na jaanee-ai.
On the outside, the Divine supports the child by making him feel His vibrations - like a tender current surrounding the baby on all sides. And then within, He shows the child Divine light in different colors.
We are seeing who we are; Maharaj Ji is showing us.
Ji,today a sangat came from Yukon, up north quite far from here and there is not much of our community there. Few days ago, she called and said, I want to meet God. I said, He sits on the throne everyday and makes us meet God. You be ready, everyday he talks about meeting with the Divine. Today, she came; How amazing is this soul; leaving her own country and then settling up north where winter lasts for 10 months and sitting alone by herself she has a dream to meet the Divine. What a huge blessing! Betay, you brought the dust of your feet for us; how kind of you! This is not your thought that you want to meet the Divine. It is His thought that He wants to meet you. When God says I want to meet you, I am pleased with you, at the same time we have a thought that I want to meet Him. This is so strange, telepathy.
Yesterday, we read:
Dhaarnaa: (at 21:16)
aakhayN taaN maiN baat paavaaN …..aj ik sajanaa vay……tay tooN…..rakheeN us baat daa naa
Oh, my friends, if you allow me I want to tell you a story. I don’t know what should be the name of the story; I would leave that up to you.
at sohnay komal jihay…..jioNday jaag-day….raNgaaN naal ik mik saaN
From previous deewaan: The light which the child sees with his closed eyes, those colors are not just dead colors, dead light which cannot feel like electricity. Those are the colors of the Divine light which is alive and awake and all those things that Maharaj Ji talks about in Jaap Sahib.
faildee-aaN lahiraaN vaaNg….ful ban khirh-day see…..tay kaday aatishbaajee-aaN aa
From previous deewaan: Sometimes He shows the Divine light in the form of waves spreading out, and other times the Divine light becomes a flower, and sometimes the Divine light becomes fireworks.
This is what Maharaj Ji says in Gurbanee as:
kardaa anad binod kichhoo na jaanee-ai.
Maharaj Ji says that the Divine displays His joyous plays which cannot be understood intellectually but can be only experienced.
iho jihay tamaashi-aaN day….. naal saaN maiN jurhee ho-ee….tay us dunee-aa ch leen huNdee saaN
I was so absorbed in feeling Him from everywhere, and looking at the light shows that he displayed within.
Please understand the story here. The way the child never felt alone in the mother’s womb, the Divine does not let him feel alone even when the baby comes into the world; He cradles him right away with tender loving vibrations, and within He shows the baby light shows. When does the child feel for the first time that he is alone?
I was so absorbed in feeling and watching those mystic plays, and I was totally one with them.
bahotaa chir pataa nahee….kithay saaN maiN huNdee maa-ay…..sami-aaN to door huNdee saaN
The child does not know the word sleep but the child is saying: Most of the time I didn’t know where I was or where I went. There is actually no sense of “I” in that state; the child is absorbed in feeling and watching the Divine mystic plays.
Most of the time, the Divine keeps the baby in a state of sleep and takes his consciousness somewhere else but always beyond time. This will take time to understand. We will see this again tomorrow; why there is no time. We have become so old but we still don’t know what sleep is; where the consciousness goes when we go to sleep; where does it go, where does it stay, where does it come from?
Dhaarnaa (end)
Dhan so raag surangrhay aalaapat sabh tikh jaa-ay.
Please sit straight and while singing this, push the navel point backward so that any consciousness there starts running upward.
While singing, when we say surangrhay, then push the navel point back towards the spine.
Dhan so raag surangrhay aalaapat sabh tikh jaa-ay. (singing)
surangrhay……..surangrhay……….surangrhay………surangrhay (singing)
He says the tune of raagas is filled with ishq - surangrhay. Rang means love and surang mens pure love, ishq. How beautiful!
The Divine is eternally moving and vibrating within us, on and off, at an incredible frequency ranging from 42 times per second to 570 trillion times per second. We can’t even imagine 42 times per second, let alone 570 trillion! The Divine is operating at all those speeds within us. In a piano or harmonium, the notes on the left have the lowest frequency and as we go from left to right, the frequency of notes increases. If one note is pressed twice followed by pressing a note from the previous scale, then the speed is augmented multiple times. Similarly, many notes of high frequencies can be produced. By first producing the notes of the raags from the harmonium and then to resonate the frequency of the musical instruments with our sound; to sing that way is to sing in raags.
Think about it: One person’s voice resonating with the instrument enhances the vibrations within that person so strongly, and here we are so many of us singing with the same frequency, resonating with the same frequency, and what an effect that creates! Please reflect on this and then see what is saadhsangat. That’s why Maharaj Ji says the greatness of saadhsangat cannot be said; only the rare one realizes the glory of sangat.
Maharaj Ji in his third appearance created 22 manjees or cots on which a blessed soul would sit, and tell others about this path of love; this so beautiful path of living human life. The second cot he blessed to His Sikh, Bhai Laloo Ji. He was entrusted with making the people aware about this path, in the region along the seaside.
Maharaj Ji blessed the third manjee (cot) to Bhai Mahayshaa Dheer. He had unfathomable love for Maharaj Ji and faith in Him. So, Maharaj Ji blessed him with a cot to preach to the people of Maalwaa in Punjab.
This day, today, that is marching towards its end, gave us an opportunity and that opportunity would never visit us again. We will have new opportunities tomorrow or the day after but today’s opportunities are leaving us. Before going to bed, we should sit down alone, close our eyes, and look back at the day’s journey, and ask ourselves: Did I do any unselfish act for anybody, today? Did I heal anybody’s consciousness with my words today? Or did I hurt somebody’s consciousness with my words?
Dhaarnaa: (at 1:02:28)
nee baag maa-ay sajanaa daa….. jeeHday vich dunee, maiN, tay oh aap
Oh, my mother, this universe is the garden of my Beloved, in which there is His creation, me and Him.
oHdee kudrat i-oN lagdee….ji-oN kavitaa oh likh hai rihaa
He keeps on creating His new creation and demolishing the old. As He is creating His new creation, I feel as if He’s writing a song.
an-disday hathaaN naal……lakh kot balouree satraaN
balouree - means very beautiful
satraaN - lines
His hands are invisible, but with His invisible hands, He is writing millions of so beautiful lines of that poem of His creation. Everything, every new grass leaf is a new word of the line of that poem.
bolee kavitaa dee ishkay dee…..tay chufayri-aaN noo jaan satraaN
The lines of this poem are not from left to right, or from right to left, but they are downwards, upwards, leftwards, rightwards. The root of a tree is downwards, tree is upwards, the branches are leftward, rightward.
Dhaarnaa (end)
To my dear sons, and daughters, please do not miss making notes. It’s very important.
