ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
We had seen before the six blessed people who were accorded with the responsibility, the blessing of a cot person (manjee). They were supposed to sit on a cot and tell the people this way of life. One of these persons was Bhai Pirthaa Mal Ji. Guru Amar Das Ji’s last name was Bhalla and Bhai Pirthaa Mal’s last name was Bhalla as well. Pirthaa Mal was very egoistic about it that my last name is the same as Guru Amar Das Ji. He would tell everybody and feel pride in it. Maharaj Ji saw that he was damaging himself so one day He called Pirtha Mal and said that the Guru has no last name; Guru is all truth, and truth has no last name. Guru is the one through whom the Divine operates. From now on, your last name is not going to be Bhalla, it’s going to be Hitkaaree; Hitkaaree means one who loves all. Then Maharaj Ji blessed him with a cot and gave him the responsibility of making the people of Ferozepur aware of this way of life.
New sangat asks everyday that when I read Guru Granth Sahib Ji, my mind keeps wandering, I remain unpeaceful, I can’t focus. How to focus?
Ji, that’s what we are doing everyday; we just need to become more awake to it. We sing everyday. New sangat should observe and understand what is the meaning of this. Why do we sing? By singing and hearing, our consciousness starts to become focused. Hearing your own sound helps one focus, making the consciousness stay here in the present. While talking or singing our consciousness could be somewhere else but in order to hear, our consciousness has to stay here. So, when we sing and hear at the same time, our consciousness cannot go anywhere else. The very first step is to sing His utterances and hear those; singing and hearing. Then, the next step is singing, hearing and feeling.
gaavee-ai sunee-ai man rakhee-ai bhaa-o.
If we are present then the sound of His utterances would enter through the ears and travel directly to the heart, hirdaa. Let’s see if we are present.
ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੈ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੈ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
har iksai naal mai dostee har iksai naal mai rang.
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਜਣੋ ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੈ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
har iko mayraa sajno har iksai naal mai sang.
ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੈ ਗੋਸਟੇ ਮੁਹੁ ਮੈਲਾ ਕਰੈ ਨ ਭੰਗੁ ॥
har iksai naal mai gostay muhu mailaa karai na bhang.
ਜਾਣੈ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜੀਅ ਕੀ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਮੋੜੈ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
jaanai birthaa jee-a kee kaday na morhai rang.
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਸਲਤੀ ਭੰਨਣ ਘੜਨ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥
har iko mayraa maslatee bhannan gharhan samrath.
ਹਰਿ ਇਕੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਸਿਰਿ ਦਾਤਿਆ ਜਗ ਹਥੁ ॥
har iko mayraa daataar hai sir daati-aa jag hath.

ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੈ ਦੀ ਮੈ ਟੇਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਭਨਾ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥
har iksai dee mai tayk hai jo sir sabhnaa samrath.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਥੁ ॥
satgur sant milaa-i-aa mastak Dhar kai hath.
Please come at the forehead, between the eyebrows at the root of the nose.
sant - is referring to the Divine here.
Please stay there and you will feel the Divine as pressure, or moving in a counterclockwise motion, or He will pull our consciousness inside.
Please feel the presence of God in between the eyebrows. It could be a pressure; He presses that point to make us feel His presence. Or He would take rounds there in an anticlockwise direction, or the Divine may pull us into the head, directly behind the point at the center of the eyebrows.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਥੁ ॥
satgur sant milaa-i-aa mastak Dhar kai hath.
These are words of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. So, when He says I have kept my hand there, that means He is saying - God is there. Are you there to meet Him? Do you know what God is? A great great power! When He presses a point to make His presence felt, it’s not like someone pressed a button with their finger; don’t just think that it is something small. If He wants He could finish this entire play, this entire universe in the blink of an eye. So, it’s not like someone just held your hand and pressed it slightly. Please understand His status, His greatness, His power! Unless and until we remain fully aware of what this power is, we will not feel the love or that type of regard or fear Him. We will not have any fear for Him; the mind will say, oh, I have felt God, there is nothing to fear.
Now, please hear the Celestial Music while staying at the forehead and also bringing focus to the ears at the same time - hear the sound of saaN saaN, or ankle bells, or cymbals, or the sound of a flute - five types of musical instruments are playing. It’s not a simple saaN saaN; it is the symphony of five musical instruments which is created by unstruck sound. By dwelling in the village of the Celestial Music, we become egoless slowly; we become ishqful. We are reborn.

ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤੀ ਖਾਬਾਂ ਵਿਚ… ਆਣ ਕੇ ਜਗਾਵੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ…. ਸਮਝ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ…. ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਨੀ
aDhee raatee khaabaaN vich…. aankay jagaavay jirhaa….. samajh naa aavay mainoo kaun nee
From previous deewans: Oh, my mother, who is the one that comes in the middle of the night, wakes me up and plays this music for me.
ਸੁਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ…..ਲੁਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਮੈਂ ਹੋਵੇ…..ਉਹਨੂੰ…… ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਾਲੇ ਦੱਸ ਕੌਣ ਨੀ
surtee day konay kisay…..lukee ho-ee maiN hovay…..oHnoo….baahar nikaalay das koun nee
Until all of our ego is gone, we can never know who we are, and Celestial Music is that blessed arrangement which makes us totally ego free. Ego free!
Ego does not mean pride. Ego means that I am, and I am separate from His creation.

While going to sleep, please, we must start hearing the Celestial Music and keep reciting Moolmantar without moving the lips and tongue. We would very silently slip into the sleep, and remain with God all night too. Then do an experiment - when you wake up at night, or when you wake up at Amrit Vaylaa, without paying attention towards it, the first thing that you will hear is the Anhad Shabad. If we keep it with us while going to sleep at night, then it will be the first thing to hold our hand in the morning, and then stay with it all day.
As we start hearing the Celestial Music deeper and deeper, we start feeling love; love for the one who is doing this to us - what an orchestra he has arranged for me! We would start feeling intoxicated, to which Maharaj Ji says:
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
sunhu lokaa mai paraym ras paa-i-aa.
Oh, the people, listen to me: I have tasted the intoxication of ishq.
Please test, is all of my consciousness absorbed in hearing the Celestial Music or not? Am I feeling peaceful? Is my consciousness still to hear Him? He keeps playing it for me 24 hours, around the clock; doesn’t even sleep; He says, who knows when you will come, you might come any time so let Me be prepared. That’s how His love is!
There is a letter from Washington. The worldly consciousness won’t see anything in this; they would say it’s nothing. But those whose consciousness is still, is returning home, and are realizing that there is no point in wandering aimlessly outside, being unpeaceful; those who have known some secret to becoming peaceful - they will see that even though this may seem small but it is big. This is what the Divine showed to this daughter of mine. Let’s see.
Baba Ji, one day I got up at Amrit Vaylaa and took out an elaichee (cardamom) from the container to make tea. A plump elaichee came in my hand; my consciousness just froze there and kept looking at the elaichee; kept wondering in amazement how God has made this wonderful elaichee - there is no glue, no thread, no stitches to close it but how it has stored an amazing fragrance in it’s tummy, ready to sacrifice itself in ishq at any time. If you break me, you can use the seeds that God has so carefully and lovingly placed inside me; not just the seeds, even my skin will come to your use. At least use me once and feel the ishq. How much the Divine loves us! He has installed gems in His entire creation! How much ishq He has for us! Like a mother who likes to make tasty treats for her child, Maharaj Ji, like a pure Divine mother, blesses us with new gifts everyday through Her creation but we never stop for a moment to feel how much it would hurt our Mother to use Her gifts without valuing their beauty. We never stop to see the blessings in everything, not even for a moment - the fragrance, the freshness, the beauty, the flavor in these gifts. We crush and boil these things (like the elaichee) in water but they are imbued in His ishq and they never even say that we should be grateful to God who made these things. Baba Ji, that elaichee taught me such a beautiful life lesson: to sacrifice myself and become dissolved in Him like fragrance; eliminate this false I and merge with Him.
The worldly consciousness won’t see anything in this - a small elaichee. But when the consciousness becomes still, we start to see a little bit of what this story is about; this parshaadaa (wheat bread) that I am eating took Him six months to prepare the wheat; I didn’t even remember Him once who took six months day and night to prepare the wheat and then made the flour available to me. Now we are going to wake up.
ਜੈਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਣੀਦਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੀ ਮੈ ਡੀਠੁ ॥
jaisaa satgur suneedaa taiso hee mai deeth.
ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਮੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਕਾ ਬਸੀਠੁ ॥
vichhurhi-aa maylay parabhoo har dargeh kaa baseeth.

ਲੁੱਕਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਹਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ…ਹਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਿੱਲ ਦਾ
luki-aa nahee oHday koloN……haal kisay dil daa
He knows the state of every heart; nothing is hidden from Him.
ਸੁਣਿਆ ਵਿਚੋਲੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ….ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ
suni-aa vicholay baajhoN…..oh kisay noo nahee mildaa
I have heard that He doesn’t meet anyone without the mediator, the Guru.
Maharaj Ji says:
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
bin satgur kinai na paa-i-o kar vaykhhu man veechaar.
ਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੱਸ ਕੋਣ ….ਲਾਊਗਾ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ
tayray binaa das koun….laa-oogaa kinaaray
Only You can take my boat to the shore.
ਤੂੰ ਬਣ ਇਸ਼ਕੇ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ ਦਾ ਮਲਾਹ ਜੋਗਿਆ…..ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਏ…..
tooN ban ishkay dee bayrhee daa malaah jogee-aa….jivayN mandaa ay
Oh, my Beloved Guru, please become the captain of my ship…..
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਏ…ਓਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾ ਜੋਗੀਆ…..ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੰਨਦਾ ਏ
jivayN mandaa ay….os noo manaa jogee-aa…..jivayN mandaa ay
From previous deewan: Whatever it takes to make my wedding with my Beloved happen, please make it happen. Whatever it takes, whatever He asks, tell Him I will do that.

Maharaj Ji is teaching us how to live. To live life out of ego is a punishment; we keep suffering time and again. Once we become egoless, what remains behind is beyond imagination; we couldn’t even imagine that I am this. Maharaj Ji says:
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤੂੰ ਹੈ ॥
so parabh door naahee parabh tooN hai.
He says, recognize who you truly are; you are not these bones, flesh, and veins.
We have to practice everyday to earn His utterances and using them in our life, e.g. I am not going to slander anyone. Maharaj Ji says:
ਫਿਕੋ ਫਿਕਾ ਸਦੀਐ ਫਿਕੇ ਫਿਕੀ ਸੋਇ ॥
fiko fikaa sadee-ai fikay fikee so-ay.
Maharaj Ji says you don’t gain anything when you speak without love in your words, in your heart; actually you lose a lot. You become tasteless when you say something negative about somebody. No love can be seen within you when you talk ill of others. So, it’s a very unprofitable trade. We must remain very awake. Before speaking, remind yourself that my words are going to affect me the most and also others who hear me. May my words never hurt anyone; may they always soothe others. Our mind may see demerits in somebody, all the demerits. But that person has lots of merits too. We must recognize those merits too, and bow to those merits, and learn from him too. Especially children, we should praise them for their merits; it encourages them and motivates them to become even better. Instead of saying why did you do this or why did you do that, we should tell them: this is how you can do it. We must apply Maharaj Ji’s teachings to our lives now. Our lives must be lived now as He teaches us - full of love, full of compassion.
There is a letter from Edmonton. The writer says:
Baba Ji, during 13 July, 2022’s Khajana Darshan you asked for the first time to make notes everyday. You also said that when we write something, it enters deeper levels of our consciousness. Since then, I have been making notes everyday without missing a day. Everyday I also listen to an older Khajana Darshan and if there is something that generates vibrations in my heart, I record that on my phone and listen to it many times during the day and experience bliss.
Ji, the vibrations at the heart are not just vibrations, it is the presence of the Divine. He says, you said something that I had to come.
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਲੋਕਾ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

ਦੁਰਜਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ॥
durjan maaray vairee sanghaaray satgur mo ka-o har naam divaa-i-aa.
Lust, anger, greed, attachment, pride - the things that used to separate me from my Beloved; Anger used to come, ego used to come, attachment used to take over, greed took over - all of them used to separate me from my Beloved. Now hearing the Celestial Music, I am free from those things. He has made me egoless. The Guru blessed me with the sacred word, made me hear the Celestial Music and made me egoless and made me peaceful, and brought me within.
Maharaj Ji taunts us. He says:
ਸਾਹੁਰੈ ਢੋਈ ਨਾ ਲਹੈ ਪੇਈਐ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
saahurai dho-ee naa lahai pay-ee-ai naahee thaa-o.
The house of in-laws is within where our Beloved dwells. Our parent’s place is this world outside which has given us the false I.
Maharaj Ji says that you are not allowed to enter into the house of your in-laws (within) and there’s no place to become still, grounded at your parents’ place, the outer world.
ਪਿਰੁ ਵਾਤੜੀ ਨ ਪੁਛਈ ਧਨ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
pir vaat-rhee na puchh-ee Dhan sohagan naa-o.
He says you are not allowed to enter the house of your in-laws, and at your parents’ place there is no place where you can stop and rest; your true beloved doesn’t care about you, and you are telling people I’m blessed, I’m a married woman now. Are you really married? No one lets you enter the house of the in-laws. You must be talking about a different marriage; even that marriage did not make you peaceful.
Who is going to take us to the in-laws place? The Guru, the Divine physician.

ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਰਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ….ਵੈਦ ਕੋਲ ਚੱਲ ਨੀ ਮਾਏ
mayraa jee raajee nahee rahiNdaa…..vaid kol chal nee maa-ay
From previous deewan: Oh, my mother, my insides remain sad. Let us go to the Divine physician.
ਦਰ….. ਸਹੁਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੰਦ

When all the doors to the house of the in-laws are shut to me.
ਪੇਕੀਂ ……ਠਾਕ ਨਾ ਥਾਂ ਸਨਬੰਧ
paykeeN…..thaak naa thaaN sanbaNDh
At my parents house there is no place, no person who can make my consciousness still and bring it inside.
ਪੁੱਛੇ ਵਾਤੜੀ ਨਾ ਆਕੇ ਕਦੇ ਸੋਹਣਾ……ਤੇ ਕਾਹਦੀ ਜੱਗ ਭੱਲ ਨੀ ਮਾਏ
puchhay vaat-rhee naa aakay kaday sohnaa…..tay kaaHdee jag bhal nee maa-ay
He doesn’t care about me, so what does worldly glory mean? It doesn’t mean anything! That is of no use because that cannot make me peaceful; that cannot take me out of the cycle of birth and death; that cannot make me merge with my Beloved.
