2657 - Khajana Darshan November 3, 2023 – Bulandpuri Sahib 

English Transcription and Translation

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

॥ ਜਪੁ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ। ॥  ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥

Please come either at the navel point or at the hirdaa or at whatever point in the street of love that is easiest for you.

Dhaarnaa:

ਆ ਨੀ ਧੀਏ ਰਾਣੀਏ….. ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਵਾਂ

aa nee Dhee-ay raanee-ay…… tayray sadkay jaavaaN

We all are souls and the Dhaarnaa is: Come, my daughter, you the true queen, I am a sacrifice unto you.

ਤੈਥੋਂ ਮਹਿਕ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਆਂਵਦੀ, ਮੈਂ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਬਿਠਾਵਾਂ

taithoN mahik sach dee aaNvadee…..maiN kithay bithaavaaN

You are emanating the fragrance of truth. You are so precious, you are so pure; where should I make you sit.

We have been blessed with such divinely atmosphere where the wind is blowing all around carrying his message of true love, the flowers are laughing, reminding us of the mystery of ishq. We should test ourselves, can I hear His utterances? Do they dissolve into me? If we want to hear more and more of His utterances, that’s the proof that with His grace we can hear Gurbaanee. This miracle happens to very few; once that miracle happens then there is nothing to be done on our part and He does the rest. So, please, by keeping our insides peaceful and open to His message; He says those who can hear Gurbaanee, they will sing, and the reverse is true as well. Through singing and singing and singing, we become peaceful within and we start hearing Gurbaanee, Celestial Music. He says if you hear Gurbaanee and sing it, you would remain in total amazement!

ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ॥

gun gaavah parabh agam thaakur kay gun gaa-ay rahay hairaan.

They start singing and start dwelling in the space of total amazement, deep bliss.

If we are really singing, we should have goosebumps and our insides would become touched.

Repeatedly in Japji Sahib, Maharaj Ji keeps singing:

ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥

aadays tisai aadays.

Salutations to Him, obeisance to Him, most humbly bowing down to Him – this is out of amazement. He is telling us that the moment you start becoming amazed, and there is everything to be amazed about; once that happens then automatically from within you it would come out: I bow down to You, I salute to You. How amazing! How wondrous! How mesmerizing! How mysterious!

In the first stanza of Japji Sahib, He says:

ਸੋਚੈ ਸੋਚਿ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੇ ਸੋਚੀ ਲਖ ਵਾਰ

sochai soch na hova-ee jay sochee lakh vaar.

He says one cannot understand His creation by thinking. Isn’t this amazing that you deem yourself so intelligent but you cannot understand anything about His creation by thinking!

ਚੁਪੈ ਚੁਪ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੇ ਲਾਇ ਰਹਾ ਲਿਵ ਤਾਰ

chupai chup na hova-ee jay laa-ay rahaa liv taar. 

Would it not amaze you that there is no way you can stop thinking? Doesn’t this amaze you? This is His doing.

ਭੁਖਿਆ ਭੁਖ ਉਤਰੀ ਜੇ ਬੰਨਾ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਭਾਰ

bhukhi-aa bhukh na utree jay bannaa puree-aa bhaar.

Doesn’t it amaze you that if you become the owner of all universes, not only this universe but all the infinite uncountable universes, you would still remain hungry – doesn’t this amaze you?

How come we do not become amazed? It means that we cannot hear Him yet. Look at these things and then automatically our insides would say: I salute to You, I bow down to You, You gave me this mind which cannot stop itself. How did You do that?

Please look within and addressing Him:

ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਿਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥

aadays tisai aadays.

If we are really saying this to Him, our hearts would start beating faster. If not, then it’s not coming from the core of our being.

Dhaarnaa:

ਸੁਣ ਅਰਜ ਨੀ ਵਾਏ…ਵੱਗਦੀਏ…..ਆ ਬੈਠ ਦਿਲੇ ਦੇ…. ਪਾਸ ਨੀ

sun araj nee vaa-ay….vagadee-ay…..aa baith dilay day…..paas nee

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਜਪੁਜੀ ਦੀਏ…. ਮਹਿਰਮੇ…..ਉਹਦੀ ਧੜਕਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ…. ਬਾਤ ਨੀ

mainoo das Japjee dee-ay….mahiramay…..oHdee Dharhkan dee ko-ee…..baat nee

This Dhaarnaa is talking to the wind that, O the blowing wind, come and sit beside my heart; you are the one who embraced the most loving vibrations of Japji Sahib when He sung it Himself. You received those vibrations in your being. How were they when the creation heard this most beautiful song ever sung?

ਤੂੰ ਵੇਖੀ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਉਪਜਦੀ, ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਈ ਸੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਝਾਤ ਨੀ

tooN vaykhee see oh upajdee, tay tooN paa-ee see pahlee jhaat nee

You experienced the birth of Japji Sahib. You are the first one to see, to experience Him; O’ the blessed wind, you received the first glimpse of Japji Sahib.

ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਓਸਦੀ......ਹਾਏ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਨੀ

tayray naal ho-ee see osdee, haa-ay pahlee mulaakaat nee

In His creation, the first one to have a meeting with Japji Sahib was the wind.

Japji Sahib tells us what our destiny is. Please focus within, all the time.

There are two ways human life can be lived. One is to live an accidental life and the other is to live a natural life. All children, after completing high school, ask what I should do, which line should I pursue, that is always accidental. For example, if they meet an engineer, he will say you should do this; it’s accidental. Rest of the events in our life also happen accidentally except when we meet somebody, and that person’s meeting changes the course of our life, and we start moving towards our source; that’s not accidental - it is orchestrated by the Divine. Maharaj Ji says there is only one blessed meeting (sanjog) – and that can only be with the Guru, Sangat, Divine - it’s all the same. Rest of the meetings are accidental and do not lead to peace.  

ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਅਰੋਗਾ ॥

kar isnaan simar parabh apnaa man tan bha-ay arogaa.

ਕੋਟਿ ਬਿਘਨ ਲਾਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗਾ ॥

kot bighan laathay parabh sarnaa pargatay bhalay sanjogaa.

The second way to live life is in a way, which He talks about in the very first stanza of Japji Sahib:

ਕਿਵ ਸਚਿਆਰਾ ਹੋਈਐ ਕਿਵ ਕੂੜੈ ਤੁਟੈ ਪਾਲਿ

kiv sachi-aaraa ho-ee-ai kiv koorhai tutai paal.

How to become truthful? That’s the natural way. Our destiny is not accidental; our destiny is natural.

If we live an accidental life, an unnatural life, we would remain in our own little worlds; and to live in that world is to live in tension, anxiety, stress. To be natural is to remain relaxed; is to open the doors for our Beloved. In fact, He does not open the door to us but we, with His grace, open the doors to Him.

From now on, we must not ever complain about our destiny. We should always remain bowed to our destiny. What a destiny we have!

He says:

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਇਰੁ ਏਵ ਕਹਤੁ ਹੈ ਸਚੇ ਪਰਵਦਗਾਰਾ ॥

naanak saa-ir ayv kahat hai sachay parvadgaaraa.

He says I am a Poet, True Poet, and you are a song of ishq which I started writing ever since you were conceived; I am writing this song of ishq every day; recognize yourself that you are a song of ishq. Nobody on this Earth in their wildest dreams imagined; nobody has ever talked like this; nobody has ever revealed the ultimate truth to humanity. He says, God is a poet, and all His creation is Him writing all these songs of ishq. You are a song of ishq; recognize yourself.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਬਣੀਐ

satgur kee banee sat saroop hai gurbaanee banee-ai

He says, God’s utterances are God Himself. Gurbaanee is a poet’s song of ishq. Then He says: Be Gurbaanee, you are Gurbaanee, you are the love song.

These are steps.  

For example, first Maharaj Ji says all humanity is real brothers and sisters. Then He says, come to the next step, now recognize that everyone is God. Maharaj Ji does not say in the beginning that you are God Himself because if He said that in the beginning the world would have said He is insane, which they said anyways. During His first appearance that’s what people were saying. Then when He reappeared the second time and had a canopy over His head wherever He stood or walked or sat, then people’s eyes opened: What! Who is He? In His second appearance, He sat on a throne and had a canopy, the same way we have it for Guru Granth Sahib Ji. By then people had started recognizing Him. He announced that it is not any person speaking, it is He speaking. He never said it was Nanak speaking. No!

He says, become the song of ishq and you will realize that you were always a song of ishq so what was there to become? Earth would move from under our feet the day we start accepting that He is saying I am a song of ishq so I must be a song of ishq; let me know who I am. Once we recognize who we are, we would sacrifice our ego on the true self.

Dhaarnaa:

ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਮਹਿਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਾ ਫਿਦਾ ਤੂੰ

aapnee hee mahak utay…..ho jaanaa fidaa tooN

You would sacrifice your false self unto your true self who is a song of ishq.

ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਹੈਂ ਤੂੰ......ਗੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਵੇ

zindagee daa geet haiN tooN….geet noo pachhaan vay

ਨਾਨਕ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ਜਉ ਗਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ॥

naanak bha-ojal paar parai ja-o gaavai parabh kay geet.

He says, Gurbaanee are His songs of ishq, and you are Gurbaanee; become Gurbaanee. How can we even fathom who He is!
