ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
God gives us a blank notebook and He says: here is the notebook and you have to write the story of your life with your own hands. The story would include where you took your feet, what you did with the arms and hands which you were blessed with, what type of thoughts and intentions you had. You have to write the story of your life yourself and I wish you would write a story that when one page is finished and you go back and read it, you don’t become sad after reading it, but your inside would want to read that page again and again and again out of happiness, out of being pleased with the self. As many blank pages and ink as you need would be provided to you. When the time is up you won’t be able to write anything on it. Before you leave you would see the entire book presented to you, shown to you in a few seconds, and after that whatever the state of your consciousness would be, it would leave your body in that state for the next journey. So, we should be mindful and remain awake, conscious, alert while writing every sentence of the story of our lives. We should keep the truth of life in front of us all the time.
Let us please become focused at the hirdaa.
kudrat kar kai vasi-aa so-ay.
Whatever God creates, He starts dwelling in that thing, that being.
vakhat veechaaray so bandaa ho-ay.
He says only the one who remains in the present, feels the Divine, and while feeling the Divine, understands this play of His, only that being can be called human being, because only that being would know who he or she is and what everything else is. To them only, we can say they are human because they are using their faculties to transform themselves. Otherwise, what would be the difference between other vegetation, animals, or birds if there is no transformation. He says we cannot call them a human being. Please understand how heavy these statements are.
kudrat hai keemat nahee paa-ay.
Maharaj says His creation “is” - means His creation is alive. Why His creation “is”? Because within it, dwells the One who “is” - hai bhee sach, nanak hosee bhee sach.
Maharaj Ji says when you are passing by a tree, don’t just pass by unconcerned; remain conscious that the tree “is” because in it, the Divine “is”. So, pass by a tree while remaining awake. When you are passing by somebody, you pass by unconcerned because you don’t know that person, He says: No, recognize that he or she “is”, and God is there in it. Live your life with that consciousness, Then, you will be human.
jaa keemat paa-ay ta kahee na jaa-ay.
When you realize the creation is nothing but God Himself, revealing Himself in countless ways, then you would become wonderstruck. Then you would recognize the beauty, the depth, the glory, the wondrousness of His creation.
Maharaj Ji tells us how to live life. Who would have told us this if we did not have Guru Granth Sahib Ji? We have to go very far. There is ishq within us; our body is the village of ishq; outside His creation is also the village of ishq. We are to go to His village. We should not become entangled in small things because we have somewhere to reach; we must reach and our destination is far away. We must not waste time on futile things. We should not carry complaints against anybody within us; we should see them with blossomed insides with a smile on our face.

ਕੋਠੇ ਜਿੱਡੇ ਗਿਲੇ…. ਹੋਣ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ….ਤੂੰ ਹੱਸੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ….ਦੇ ਵੀ ਲੱਗੀਂ
kothay jiday gilay…..hon jinHaaN tay……tooN has mathay oHnaaN….day vee lageeN
Even if you are carrying complaints against somebody as tall as a building, drop them and meet them smilingly.
ਪਿੰਡ ਇਸ਼ਕੇ ਦੇ…ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ ਆਪਾਂ…..ਕਿੰਝ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਂਗੇ ਜੇ….ਬੇੜੀ ਲੱਗੀ

We have to reach the abode of ishq. How would we reach there if our consciousness is stuck in somebody?

kudrat hai keemat nahee paa-ay.
Please understand that we are actors in this Universe. We are playing different roles - the role of a brother, sister, mother, father; so many different roles we are playing outside. Within us, there is another movie being played; the movie of non-stop thoughts, and within this body trillions of movies are being played in each and every cell; each and every cell of our body carries some information. So, we are playing a role outside within our own world - our family, friends, acquaintances. Then, our little world is playing in the whole world, and the whole world is playing a role in its galaxy - sun, moon, stars, and then this galaxy is playing a role in the Universe. There is no way our little minds can understand the one who has created the mind. What would a pot would understand who the potter is? What a painting would know about the painter? So, this is mysterious. It is going to remain mysterious. This is the beauty of God, it’s the glory of God, it’s the wonder of God.
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ॥
gun gaavah parabh agam thaakur kay gun gaa-ay rahay hairaan.
Maharaj Ji says when you start seeing the mystery of everything, you would remain wonderstruck, you would remain in some very high clouds, wonderstruck. You won’t remain on the ground, picking fights with others and complaints. You will be living somewhere else!
ਸਿਦਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਖਸੂਦੁ ॥
sidak kar sijdaa man kar makhsood.
makhsood means purpose.
sidak - patience
Maharaj Ji says, make the goal of your life to remain beyond the mind, to destroy the mind. If you remain patient like God, because God remains patient with us for everything; if you become patient like God then that is your prayer to Him. And to remain beyond mind with God, that is the purpose of life. We keep making mistakes, blunders, sins throughout our lives but He still remains patient with us. He says you should remain patient like that.
ਸਿਦਕੁ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਜਦਾ ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਖਸੂਦੁ ॥
sidak kar sijdaa man kar makhsood.
ਜਿਹ ਧਿਰਿ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਿਹ ਧਿਰਿ ਮਉਜੂਦੁ ॥
jih Dhir daykhaa tih Dhir ma-ujood.
Then, in whatever direction you look, you would recognize it’s God.

ਏ ਕੀਹਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ…..ਤੇ ਰਬਾਬ ਹੈ ਗਾਉਂਦੀ……ਸੁਣ ਜੀਹਨੂੰ ਜੋਗਣ……ਬਣਨਾ ਹਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ

Who is singing these songs and who is playing the string music to welcome His singing voice? The vibrations which the string music is emitting are dancing around the song that He (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) is singing.

uthee aj dil vich……tarhap hai ko-ee……aihsaas bankay aa-i-aa…..hai saahaaN ch ko-ee
Hearing this sound, something has stirred my insides. Hearing Him, a very profound longing has risen in my heart.
That deep longing that has suddenly risen in my heart, even my breath is realizing that, feeling that. Even my breathing has noticed that something big has happened within me.
ਚੋਲਾ ਜਿਸਮ ਤੋਂ…..ਉਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ……ਬਿਰਹੋਂ ਦਾ ਚੋਲਾ….ਪਾਉਣਾ ਹਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ
cholaa jisam toN……utaar kay man daa…..birhoN daa cholaa….paa-ounaa haaN chaahuNdee
I have been wearing the robe of my mind - my mind in my eyes, in my ears, on my tongue, in my thoughts, in my walk; I want to remove that and wear the robe of the pain of separation from my Beloved.
