2683 - Khajana Darshan March 26, 2024 – France

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

॥ ਜਪੁ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ॥  ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ

aad sach jugaad sach.

ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ

hai bhee sach naanak hosee bhee sach.

Did you hear? Did you hear? That it is the Divine only. Did you hear? That we are not. Did anyone hear?

Have we heard? Maharaj Ji says right in the beginning, that this whole creation, this whole play is originating out of the Divine and there is only Divine, there has been only Divine, there is Divine only, and there is going to be Divine only.

It is ingrained within us that I am, he or she is, they are. This is a thought that has taken deep roots within us.  

Only the rarest of the rare are going to listen to this and they are going to become restless - what? I am not! What does this mean? Because I am! That person won’t be able to sleep at night. But if this doesn’t make us restless and we continue as usual, then we have not heard anything. If we didn’t hear anything today, then we are not going to hear anything tomorrow either, and the reason we did not hear today is because we did not hear yesterday. Only the rarest of rare will hear this!

With His mercy, we have gathered here from over 20 countries. I know very clearly why I am here. Do all of us know why we are here? We will say, He has brought us here; it’s His mercy. But my question is different.

God has brought us all together here from all across the globe, from 20 countries. I am clear why I am here. He has brought me as He has brought everybody here. I am very clear that I am here to be blessed with the dust of your feet every day. I am here that if He becomes merciful enough and makes me serve you, makes me caress your feet so your tired feet can become somewhat soothing and you may sit in peace and think that where I am going.

In the first stanza of Japji Sahib, He says:

ਸੋਚੈ ਸੋਚਿ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੇ ਸੋਚੀ ਲਖ ਵਾਰ

sochai soch na hova-ee jay sochee lakh vaar.

Please understand this. Our mind makes us think that we know everything. Maharaj Ji says you can think and think and keep on thinking all your life but you can never know why you have been put on this planet.

Let us please all sing; our insides sing, and feel that when we sing our insides become alive; we feel some life within.    

ਸੋਚੈ ਸੋਚਿ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੇ ਸੋਚੀ ਲਖ ਵਾਰ

sochai soch na hova-ee jay sochee lakh vaar.

ਚੁਪੈ ਚੁਪ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੇ ਲਾਇ ਰਹਾ ਲਿਵ ਤਾਰ

chupai chup na hova-ee jay laa-ay rahaa liv taar.

Maharaaj Ji says that you are always chattering, talking useless, futile talk. If you stop talking, it doesn’t mean you have become peaceful; the noise keeps on going within you.

I usually look at the newspaper to see if there is anything which benefits humanity. One day, there was an article in the newspaper that one should not talk much so the illusion is maintained that you are intelligent. If you start talking, then that illusion is going to fall apart. (Baba Ji laughs). This is the most that intelligent people in the world can say.

Maharaj Ji says you can never know what the silence is. Only when you go within and witness how silently, how peacefully your soul remains attached with the Divine, and how peaceful and silent it is! Only then you would know what silence is.

You will say that we have started ABC’s after 28 years. It takes lifetimes to know the ABC’s of this path.  

ਚੁਪੈ ਚੁਪ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੇ ਲਾਇ ਰਹਾ ਲਿਵ ਤਾਰ

chupai chup na hova-ee jay laa-ay rahaa liv taar.

ਭੁਖਿਆ ਭੁਖ ਉਤਰੀ ਜੇ ਬੰਨਾ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਭਾਰ

bhukhi-aa bhukh na utree jay bannaa puree-aa bhaar.

Do you know that you always remain hungry? You have never been satisfied, never fulfilled, never content that I don’t need anything, I am happy. Maharaj Ji says even if you become the owner of all the wealths in the universe, you are still going to remain hungry. Right now you are thinking only if I had another 100,000 euros or 200,000 euros, or another million dollars, you will get satisfied. No no no! Forget about this, you don’t know the story. Those who have gathered a lot of things, they were like you as well. Please think, this is about our life; Who are we? What is life? What is this life about? These are not false promises to go to heaven after death. This is about transforming your consciousness to divine consciousness while you are living in this body. He says, come and I will show you that you are not, it’s just the divine and only the divine.  

Maharaj Ji says this happens with you every day. Every day you are hungry, you are unpeaceful, every day you don’t know what you are looking for, but still you keep running in one direction - some are running after wealth, some after power, some after fame. He says since you don’t know what you are really looking for, what you need, then what for are you running and you are in such a hurry.

He asks us a question. He says:

ਐਸੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ॥

aisay kaahay bhool paray.

He says, oh my dear ones, why are you wandering in delusions day and night like this? Why? How did this happen to you? I can see that you were believing that you are someone intelligent and look at you! How beautiful is His question!

ਐਸੇ ਕਾਹੇ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ॥

aisay kaahay bhool paray.

If anyone gets to listen to Him, they won’t be in a hurry to know what is the next line. They would become wonderstruck, astonished that it is about me. It’s about me! It’s my story!

If we have heard, we won’t be in a hurry to go to the next line. We would know that He is asking me this question. He is asking me this question and is He not expecting any answer from me? What is my answer to Him about why I am like this?

We should be very clear why we are here. Why did He send us here?

This daughter of mine, little over 20 years old, writes that when I was getting ready to go to the Purab at Bulandpuri Sahib in November, I was asking myself that if I am going to stay there till Barsi, I must have the clear cut aim why I am going there. I must not go there because other sangat go there and stay there. They must have some goals too. What are my goals?

She writes: I had two clear cut goals before me. One was: during COVID I witnessed that I had become much attached to the family. That is the clear sign that my connection with God has loosened. So I wanted to go to Bulandpuri Sahib and do meditation. Second thing is that I felt that I was stuck on this path. I always felt unpeaceful, empty and I was very unhappy with myself. I wanted to go to Bulandpuri Sahib to find the answer to this. Thirdly, I had been praying to God that Maharaj Ji, please give me time to work on myself and this time, He gave me some months.

This is what I was saying earlier. Are we clear why we are here or we just came because we have some time. I am going to benefit regardless because I am going to be showered with the dust of your feet but there is not much to gain for you if you are not clear why you are here. The story of life is for a limited number of days, limited number of breaths and every day those days are decreasing. Usually our mind makes us believe that I know, and thinking that we know we remain asleep. Those who understand that I don’t know anything, they are the ones who are ferried across. Our mind keeps us in darkness in believing that he knows; I have heard this million times, I do Nitnem every morning, I know this. This is how we are cheated by our minds and remain in misery and the cycle of birth and death.

Ji, did anyone hear what He is saying? This dhaarnaa is if you have heard this:

Dhaarnaa:

ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਵੱਜਿਆ ਵੇ

saanoo sach daa sach aj vaji-aa vay

I have been stuck with the truth of the Truth. Truth is saying this to me; Truth is asking this to me, and I have been hit with the truth.

Truth means that it is alive, is everlasting, and never changes. We are not clear why we are here even though we do meditation and other efforts, but there are many other things in our consciousness. Until there are all those other things in the consciousness, this thing cannot take root. Truth is alive, everlasting, and never changes. One who hears the truth will be struck with an arrow that is alive and because it is alive, it won’t come out and will remain struck. The meaning of “sach daa sach aj vaji-aa vay is that “truth of Truth” has struck me; meaning something has been shifted within me permanently and something alive has become stationed within me to make me remember this.

ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਅੱਜ….. ਵੱਜਿਆ ਵੇ

saanoo sach daa sach aj…. vaji-aa vay

ਜਿਹੜੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਅਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਭੁੱਖੀ ਅਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ

jih-rhee houmai ashaaNt bhukhee achup rahiNdee

Achup - which cannot stop talking; the egoistic me which remains ever unpeaceful, ever hungry, ever un-silent (achup).

ਰੋਗ ਓਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਰ ਇਹ…… ਲੱਭਿਆ ਵੇ

rog os karkay dar ih….. labhi-aa vay

Maharaj Ji says that the disease of ego is deep-rooted malignant. When I heard that I have this deep rooted malignant disease, called ego, only then I came here because I need to be treated.

ਨਾਅ ਰੋਗ ਦਾ ਦੀਰਘ…. ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜਾਂ

naa rog daa deeragh….suni-aa jaaN

ਲੂੰ ਲੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਾਡਾ ਅੱਜ….. ਕੰਬਿਆ ਵੇ

looN looN aNdar saadaa aj…..kambi-aa vay

Because of that deep-rooted malignant disease called ego, I am always unpeaceful, hungry, thirsty, and there is always noise within me. When I heard that this disease is malignant and deep-rooted, I shuddered to my core.

ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਅੱਜ….. ਵੱਜਿਆ ਵੇ

saanoo sach daa sach aj…. vaji-aa vay

Dhaarnaa (end)

Ego is this false deep understanding that I exist and my existence is independent of everything. Maharaj Ji says that you do not exist. There is no you or him or I or me. Then what is this? You have to go within to know what this is. Within you, you won’t find any I, me or mine. You would only find Him. If there was really you, then you would meet yourself within. No, there isn’t any you.

ਹਉਮੈ ਏਹਾ ਜਾਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥

ha-umai ayhaa jaat hai ha-umai karam kamaahi.

Maharaj Ji says that the nature of the ego is to do deeds which would increase your ego. The nature of the ego is to take you away and away and away from God everyday. The nature of the ego is to remove you farther and farther from the truth and deep into the jungle of delusion.

Please hear Him if we ever become blessed enough.

ਹਉਮੈ ਏਹਾ ਜਾਤਿ ਹੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥

ha-umai ayhaa jaat hai ha-umai karam kamaahi.

Ego makes you do the deeds which make you more and more egoistic, which strengthens your ego - I have this, I have that. He says that as your ego becomes stronger and stronger, your bondages become stronger and stronger; the walls of your jail become stronger and stronger and there is a dark jungle in this jail. Truth is on the other side of this jail. Where is the other side? It is within us. The jail is outside of us on the other side of the wall, and the truth is within us. This is not a worldly jail. It’s different. In the world, you are in jail, you are confined, and you are free if you are outside the jail. Here, the jail is outside; our world which we have created. Outside, the world we have created is the jail, and within is freedom. How precious are these words! How completely it is about us!

Many years ago, perhaps 20 years ago, we sang this dhaarnaa. The other day my daughters were singing this. I feel like we should sing it again. At that time, we did not know how to hear. Now, perhaps we can.

ਪਿਆਸੀ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਰੂਹ ਮੇਰੀ…..ਰੁੱਖੀ ਸੁੱਕੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਚ’....ਲੱਭਣ ਆਈ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸਉਣ

pi-aasee pi-aasee rooH mayree……rukhee sukee dunee-aa ch……labhan aa-ee kiHrhaa soun

soun - rainy season.

My soul is so thirsty and in the world where I landed, it’s ‘ishq-less’, love-less, dry. It is the world of the minds, totally clear cold business. I don’t know what my soul is looking for; which rainy season my soul is looking for in this cold, dry, love-less world.

ਕਿਹੜਿਆਂ ਕਰਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ…ਹੋਈ ਬੇਕਰਾਰ ਫਿਰੇ……ਗਾਵੇ…..ਕੀਹਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਕੇ ਦੇ ਗਉਣ

My soul is so unpeaceful. I don't know what type of peace my soul is looking for. I find her always singing the songs of Ishq. I don’t know whom she sings those songs for.

We are here to purchase something very precious. We must immediately change the habit of our mind; learn to be with ourselves, learn to remain with the one who is within, and then we will find out who we are. Please remain peaceful and quiet. The most precious wealth of truth is purchased in silence, in peace.
