ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥

ਆਦਿ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਸਚੁ॥ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ॥
Let us please focus either in between our eyebrows or at the heart area.
ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥
kurbaanee vanjaa vaarnai balay bal kitaa.
Maharaj Ji says that as one starts waking up from their sleep of centuries, they start becoming wonder struck.
We go through three different stages of our consciousness everyday but because we are in deep sleep, we don't recognize that. We don't see what is happening to us; what is happening to me. Maharaj Ji says that first recognize the three states and then I will tell you what is the fourth state and that is ‘you’.
During the day, what is called the ordinary existence, that is one state of our consciousness. The second state of consciousness is what we experience in the evening - occupied with thoughts of what to eat, drink, where to go, who to invite, and so on. The third state is when we go to sleep at night.
At night, when we go to bed, sleep does not happen right away. Maharaj takes us into the dreaming state where we see the dreams. There is very little difference between the ordinary state of our consciousness during the day and the dreaming state of our consciousness. That little difference is that during the day, we are somewhat aware of the surroundings and while dreaming, we experience similar thoughts but are unaware of the surroundings. Maharaj Ji makes us unaware of the surroundings at night. Maharaj Ji does now show us the dreams. It's our own consciousness; what it was planning or wanting during the day; it is the same consciousness at work. If we were thinking about having sweets during the day, then we may dream about eating the sweets in the dream.
We will be amazed to know that the story was so deep and mysterious, and it kept happening to me every day; only if we are really thirsty to hear.
The third state of our consciousness, when Maharaj Ji takes us into deep sleep, we do not exist there; there is no existence of ourselves. We simply do not exist. Nobody can ever know, nobody has ever known, nobody can ever know what God does to our consciousness to take our existence away. Only God remains in deep sleep - alive, breathing in, breathing out, heartbeat, pulse, kidneys working; everything that God does all the time; only He remains, we are not there.
If He wakes us up suddenly, without taking us through the dreaming state before waking us up, we would be in great shock. Where does He take us during the deep sleep? Nobody knows! This happens to us not once in a while, not once in a lifetime, but everyday. We have never pondered over what is the story? We are so engrossed in worldly affairs, futile details, that we don’t know what is happening right in front of us!
He keeps telling us:
ਜਾਗਹੁ ਜਾਗਹੁ ਸੂਤਿਹੋ ਚਲਿਆ ਵਣਜਾਰਾ ॥
jaagahu jaagahu sootiho chali-aa vanjaaraa.
He keeps telling us: Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! But we have no knowledge that I am asleep. There is no urgency. Why don't we feel urgency?
Yesterday Maharaj Ji said:
ਸਫਲਿਉ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਫਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ॥
safli-o birakh suhaavrhaa har safal amritaa.
He said that if anybody gets to hear me, for instance, this statement that the human body is a most beautiful tree which bears the fruit of the Divine Himself. He says if anybody gets to hear it, he would become crazy, asking everybody, please tell me how to go within? How to reach that fruit?
ਓਹੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਖੋਲੑੈ ਭਿਤਾ ॥
oh pi-aaraa jee-a kaa jo kholHai bhitaa.
I would love that person with all my being who opens the door for me to go inside to that fruit.
He would be saying:
ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਤੁਸਾੜੀਆ ਮੈ ਦਸਿਹੁ ਮਿਤਾ ॥
sayvaa karee tusaarhee-aa mai dasihu mitaa.
I would serve you all my life, I would sacrifice myself for you, if you tell me.
ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥
kurbaanee vanjaa vaarnai balay bal kitaa.
I am going to be ever sacrifice to the one who opens the door for me and takes me to my Beloved.
Then Maharaj Ji says:
ਦਸਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥
dasan sant pi-aari-aa sunhu laa-ay chitaa.
Oh my dear, the Saint would tell you how to open the door. Saint? Who is Saint? The true Guru!
ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥
sunhu laa-ay chitaa.
Listen to Him with all your being. Please, this is the secret, if we can get to hear this. This is the secret. He says, listen to Him.
What do we listen? When we listen to something, what do we listen? We hear some sound, right? This is the secret but one in a million will get this. It's very hard to get it. Maharaj Ji says, Gurbani - don't look at it as written words; these are not written words, I am talking to you in-person. These are alive, throbbing, vibrating words. That's why He is called Guru. Guru is the one through whom God is operating, life is operating. Listen to Him! Don't just read, don't just sing, listen to Him!
It's very difficult; how to listen to Him. He says, these are not written words; this is Me talking to you. I am having a heart to heart conversation with you. Once we recognize and listen to His voice in these words in His utterances; once we listen to His voice, that brings us urgency; urgency to change. Until then, there is no urgency. Not much is going to happen; not much!
ਦਸਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥
dasan sant pi-aari-aa sunhu laa-ay chitaa.
The Saint, the Guru will tell you. But what do we do? We do not hear. Hearing means when something is listened to with all our being, by becoming totally attentive and listened through the heart area, that's hearing. When we hear Him, only then the sense of urgency comes in us and we find Him encouraging us, urging us to make sweeping changes in our life.
If we know this secret - how to listen to His voice, then when we read Gurbani, that would be a different reading. When we are singing or somebody else is singing, it will be totally different. Until then there is no urgency and since there is no urgency, we cannot hear. Life would remain in sleep, falsehood, ego centered.
Let us focus either in between the eyebrows or at the heart area, please.
Waheguru….. Waheguru….. Waheguru….. Waheguru…… Waheguru…..
We are calling Him so lovingly, and if we are present He shall appear. If we are not present, He would be there but we can't feel Him because we are not fully present to feel. It's not that He is not there. No, we are not there to feel Him. It means we are having thoughts. Then the consciousness that feels, it can only think. The thinking process must become shut off; not directly but by becoming so intensely becoming absorbed in feeling.
Waheguru….. Waheguru….. Waheguru….. Waheguru…… Waheguru…..
It's more fruitful to listen.
gaavee-ai sunee-ai man rakhee-ai bhaa-o.
The whole story is about hearing. But we cannot go to hearing directly. Through singing we have to stop the thinking process, and then slowly will become able to hear by becoming silent.
Waheguru….. Waheguru….. Waheguru….. Waheguru…… Waheguru…..
Waheguru means wonderful lord! The word Waheguru creates unique vibrations in it because God promised that when you recite this, I would vibrate in this word. How amazing that when you sing this, I would vibrate in this word. I would vibrate!

ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਤੁਸਾੜੀਆ ਮੈ ਦਸਿਹੁ ਮਿਤਾ ॥
sayvaa karee tusaarhee-aa mai dasihu mitaa.
I will serve you all my life if somebody can tell me how to meet my true friend who created this body for me, gave it to me, who is running this body for me, breathing into me.
ਦਸਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥
dasan sant pi-aari-aa sunhu laa-ay chitaa.
That Saint would tell you but make sure to hear Him. You can only hear Him with your being; please understand this. You can only understand Him with your being; not with your ears.
To understand this, to recognize the truth in it, that He gets heard only by our being, it requires a lot of meditation. Then whatever is said, that is absorbed by the being. Absorbed! What is absorbed? The Truth, because these words are nothing but the Truth in a vibrating state.
Dhaarnaa:
ਸੁਣਿਐ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ…ਕੀ ਹੈ ਨੀ ਮਾਏ…ਕਿ ਦਿੱਲ ਹੀ ਸਾਡਾ…. ਇਹ ਹਰ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਏ
suni-ai lafaz vich….kee hai nee maa-ay…..ki dil hee saadaa…..ih har lai gi-aa hai
I don't know, my mother, what's there in this word of suni-ai. It has taken possession of my heart.
ਸੋਹਿਲੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਦੇ….ਨਾਲ ਘਰ ਇਹਦਾ ਭਰਿਆ…..ਖੌਰੇ ਇਹਦਾ ਉਹਦਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਕੇਹਾ ਹੈ
sohilay sajan day….naal ghar ihdaa bhari-aa….khouray iHdaa oHdaa rish-taa kayhaa hai
This word suni-ai - hearing; suni-ai means by hearing. The word suni-ai is the door to the garden of His glory, which is a garden of songs of ishq, songs of love. I don't know my mother, what's the relationship between this word and my Beloved.
ਪੁੱਛੀਏ ਜਾਂ ਇਹਨੁੰ…ਤੇ ਝੱਟ ਰੋ ਪੈਂਦਾ…..ਕਦੇ ਗਲਾ ਆਪਣਾ….. ਭਰਦਾ ਪਿਆ ਏ
puchhee-ay jaaN ihnoo….tay jhat ro paiNdaa….kaday galaa aapnaa…..bhardaa pi-aa hai
When I ask this word suni-ai - hearing: what is your relationship with my Beloved? When I ask him this, he starts crying, and sometimes his insides become welled up, just revealing that the relationship can not be described in words.
ਪੁੱਛੀਏ ਜਾਂ ਇਹਨੁੰ…ਤੇ ਝੱਟ ਰੋ ਪੈਂਦਾ…..ਕਦੇ ਗਲਾ ਆਪਣਾ….. ਭਰਦਾ ਪਿਆ ਏ
